I think the difference (from this video) is that one is insecurity (still self-centered) and the other is from genuine consideration of the other person (outward-oriented and generous). I think that’s one of the most difficult things to balance.
When you try both polarities pleasing and non-pleasing, agreeable and fully disagreeable, you understand that truth is the last law of power. Not having a form, being formless, or as Bruce Lee told being like water . Meaning, you choose tactics and strategy based on the situation, not in advance. There definitely can be situation that being pleaser can work better than anything else. You just need to calculate what you sacrifice and what you gain. It is all based on the situation.

My mother has always been a woman who is genuinely curious and interested in others and it shows. She asks important questions that are of the "safe" kind and very non intrustive. She is not interrogating anyone, nor trying to be a "pleaser". She has a way of drawing people out of themselves and makes them want to share their passions in life. It's very flattering to be in the presence of an individual that shows genuine interest in others.

Sir you have given us a big power but with that we have big responsibility so please tell people not to be over manipulative and live there life with great relationships and a good career. This nature of humans to manipulate others is great tool as well as a disaster because people try to get what they want without thinking about harms.
This seduction guru is up on stage, laying out all these technical, step-by-step techniques for charming the pants off someone. And the audience is jotting down notes, nodding like, "Yeah, I got this, I'm gonna be a smooth operator!" But then, fast forward to the real world, and you've got all these people trying to apply these techniques, but it's like watching a baby deer try to ice skate. One guy who's supposed to be "mysterious and alluring," but he just ends up brooding in the corner, looking like he lost his puppy. And the woman who's attempting to be "confident and assertive" coming off like a human bulldozer, steamrolling over everyone in her path. Quite seductive the technique itself.. But the real beauty is seeing people embrace their quirks and imperfections, not trying to fit into some cookie-cutter mold of seduction. Love and attraction can't be boiled down to a scientific equation. It's messy, it's weird, and that's what makes it beautiful... and absolutely hilarious to watch unfold.
Besides that some of the insights of this gentleman are quite elucidating. Let's just not forget that perhaps the last thing one would wish for is to feel like being just a target in someone's elaborate seduction strategy - executing their game plan of interrelationships trauma therapy with military precision.. Like being trapped in a bad rom-com, but without the charming montage and happy ending in sight.

I'm currently reading your book " mastery". Since English is not my native language, I have some difficulties for comprehension. But I will try my utmost to figure out the ideas you laid out in the book.
The thing about this guy is that he is pure theory. He is not a seducer himself, and all his book is from observation that he did. I do not say that what he said is false. What I am saying is what he said is not real. He never lived it. Some of his books are pure manipulation and evil. Which is fine if that is what you want but again. He never lived it. He saw it and took a pen and write it down. Like a geek. Not like a scientific, a scientific take the theory and apply it to see if it is working.

Absolutely true. I find him very unattractive, even repulsive. The Arthur Müller type - Marilyn Monroe fell for his brain but she soon realized she'd been wrong. Greene's seduction schemes are all superficial. I used to be with a man who used all those tactics on me and it worked for a while but I soon came to the realisation that it was all smokes and mirrors - it was just a mask. Behind the mask: nothing.

What I find most interesting about most everything you've said is that you've basically explained how I act with people and with women and especially with women. You explained my exact attitude in dealing with women and my relationship with them. But I don't treat them that way with a motivation to seduce them. It's just that this seems the best way to deal with them to make the most pleasant relationship between me and them. So oddly enough, it seems that I've ticked off most of the boxes you've mentioned but not doing so with the motivation to seduce any of them but rather just acting normally. This seduction guru is up on stage, laying out all these technical, step-by-step techniques for charming the pants off someone. And the audience is jotting down notes, nodding like, "Yeah, I got this, I'm gonna be a smooth operator!"
But then, fast forward to the real world, and you've got all these people trying to apply these techniques, but it's like watching a baby deer try to ice skate. One guy who's supposed to be "mysterious and alluring," but he just ends up brooding in the corner, looking like he lost his puppy. And the woman who's attempting to be "confident and assertive" coming off like a human bulldozer, steamrolling over everyone in her path.
Quite seductive the technique itself.. But the real beauty is seeing people embrace their quirks and imperfections, not trying to fit into some cookie-cutter mold of seduction. Love and attraction can't be boiled down to a scientific equation. It's messy, it's weird, and that's what makes it beautiful... and absolutely hilarious to watch unfold.
Besides that some of the insights of this gentleman are quite elucidating. Let's just not forget that perhaps the last thing one would wish for is to feel like being just a target in someone's elaborate seduction strategy - executing their game plan of interrelationships trauma therapy with military precision.. The thing about this guy is that he is pure theory. He is not a seducer himself, and all his book is from observation that he did. I do not say that what he said is false. What I am saying is what he said is not real. He never lived it. Some of his books are pure manipulation and evil. Which is fine if that is what you want but again. He never lived it. He saw it and took a pen and write it down. Like a geek. Not like a scientific, a scientific take the theory and apply it to see if it is working.

All of my life people always focus in on me. What am I doing? What am I saying? Who am I with? Who am I talking to? Who is saying what to me? Not that any of them are running up to me wanting to talk to me but everyone is all in my business like I'm some kind of celebrity even though I'm not. And I've always wondered why that is. Why can't people just see me and than look away. But it's never like that. Who is that guy? What is he doing? Why is he doing this or that? It's never ending. It's so bad that I've moved completely off grid away from most everyone except my little family. But even so they still talk about me and my kids and wife because people have a similar reaction to them too. Anyway, I've always wondered why.
When I saw this video come up on my feed at first I didn't want to watch it because I'm not interested in seducing people. But I thought I'd watch it just to hear what you had to say about it with the initial understanding that I wasn't going to go out of my way to follow any of the suggestions you mentioned.
What I find most interesting about most everything you've said is that you've basically explained how I act with people and with women and especially with women. You explained my exact attitude in dealing with women and my relationship with them. But I don't treat them that way with a motivation to seduce them. It's just that this seems the best way to deal with them to make the most pleasant relationship between me and them.
