  • Latest layout update as I work on the small switching layout as it grows and expands to take up most of the perimeter of my 2-car garage.

    The Calahan Auto section is my favorite. Such a great movie.

      @@redhunter68 an all-time classic. Had to represent in the layout! Juts need to build the road-side signage. I’ve delayed because I want to light it up too. (Of course!) so I have to scratch build it and had a few other projects on the workbench I had to get done first.
      Those are now done. So we shall see what I build next….
      Thanks for watching!

      @@sparky107107 Thanks! And as I mentioned, just do a small thing and it’ll get done faster than ya think! Some nights I may ballast 1’ and go to bed. But that’s 1’ that’s now done. And that 1’ over a week is 7’ of ballasted track.
      I hate to admit he was right, but he was. He was able to build a massive basement layout (unfortunately now gone for a move) in a short period of time using that mentality. And with hockey season over till fall, I have lots of time! Hahaha.

    Layout looks amazing, I'm only 4x6 but a scenery nut, good job, thanks for sharing

    • @goaliegeorge
      @goaliegeorge  3 місяці тому +1

      @@jessenoklahoma you can do a lot in 4x6.. scenery helps and can be used as a scene divider.
      Have fun and try things out as you go. Then if/when you get a bigger space, you have some better ideas on how to do the scenery on that! And if not, then you have experimented with a few different methods and you may decide to go back and “fix” other scenes.
      Enjoy! Thanks for watching!

      @@matttjaden I’m trying to model 1978. It gives me a good mix of early and later diesels to throw in as I desire. That’s the biggest reason.

      @@goaliegeorge to me modeling 1975-1990 offers a lot of verity in equipment and roads. Personally I model RF&P in 1986 due to the roads that interchanged.
      I must say you did an amazing on that RS3. I’ve got a couple of Alco units on my layout. Adding Tsunami2 to them and setting up the DDE feature really brings them to life. The only thing missing is the smoke! Keep up the good work.
