Hey Mark I remember your DRILINE switcher and transfer caboose you scratch built on the Midwest train layout. You were my inspiration for this layout. Glenn Thede is a friend of mine and frequents my layout regularly.
Wow, what a fantastic layout you have. It's packed with detail and to such a high standard. I may have to steal a few of your ideas for my next layout!😊 Keith
your use of curved turnouts is genius. SOO 376 is pretty you could use a 1/4" music cable jack for the electrical connection on the lift out bridge, but it under one end and I can even serve as an alignment pin too
at first glace from outside the room..the layout appears to be an expanded oval..once inside and your introduce the purpose, track plan and both the scratch builds and the detail..it becomes superb. You did a very nice job..much to be very happy with. Thank you for sharing. Tom
LOOKS GREAT ITS YOUR LAYOUT AND IT IS VERY NICE AND INTERESTING VERY GOOD INDEED. I AM A SUBSCRIBER LOVE YOUR VIDEO AND YOUR LAYOUT HAS A LOT OF DIFFERENT FEATURES I SAY ENJOY IT THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR THOUGHTS AND IDEAS. JIM KAMMERER OF PHILADELPHIA PA. 👍👍👍
Milton again. In your first video, you said the layout was 8X11, however, in this one you said, 7X11! Also curious as to width of shelves as I am limited in space like many others! Biggest benefit to me was seeing the height of the layout with lots of storage and workbench underneath! Raising my next layout! Again thanks!
The difference is that I added the 1 foot staging yard but it sits outside the 7X11 room so I simply added it to come up with 8X11. The room however is still 7'X11'. The width of most of the shelves is 7 to 11 inches. The bump out is 20" wide.
Nice layout! You get extra marks for scratch building, it's hard work but you and everyone else appreciates the final result so much more. What are the radius' of your curves, and what is the length x width of your layout? I'm in the planning stages of something similar.
Curve radii are 27" on the outside, 24" inside. Layout size is 11' X 7'. Go with as large an outside radii as you can. Thay way you can run 6 axle engines and longer cars. I would have liked to have gone with 30" but with only 7' wide the crossing bridge would have been tough to make.
Almost exactly the size and layout of my shelf layout. Mine is 18" wide around a 10ft X 10ft part of 10ft X 18ft room. Except I eliminated my duckunder for (currently) a hinged lift up section. I have a kit mechanism for a vertical lift bridge to go there eventually.
Beautiful layout if you slowly work your layout Never Rush Build with pride and do it Right.if your Happy with show you Love what you do.I model Railroad and take Pride In on Ho And N scale.
Nice & cool I like the 6:36 caboose, scratchbuilt? What motor powers do you use? Do you do any switching? Could've done some for the video. Thanks tons Enjoyed the ride! Cheers
Well I start with a plain caboose from Atlas, Walthers or Athearn and then paint, add details and weather it up. I use Atlas, Kato, Athearn and Proto 2000 locomotive engines mostly. I only buy their top of the Line series of locomotives. Not the cheap department store crap you see in Hobby Lobby and other such stores. I do switching but that will have to be another video.
I've enjoyed your previous videos. I've gotten some ideas for my 9X11 shelf layout, especially the bump-out! Expanding my radii as you suggested! What kind of connector did you use for your takeout bridge? I need one bad! Thanks!
I've been spending time completing an N Scale winter layout. It's done and also on my youtube channel if you want to look. My HO shelf layout is pretty much done. I've been running trains on it and that's about it.
Very nice bedroom-size layout. Looks great and I really like your industries. Loved the first Driline train with the combines. What did you use for the pink lady ballast?
I used the Mauve Fine from Arizona Rock & Mineral company HO Scale No. 117-2 11oz. ballast. I purchased it at Hobby Haven in Des Moines Iowa. Not sure if that company is still around.
27". Go as wide as you can. 30" would be better. That way you can run long passenger and other cars. There's nothing worse than having a tight radii and finding out half your stuff won't negotiate the curve.
Looked at your video but finally had all the background noise ("music") distraction I could take. People are not interested in listening to loud distracting music but looking at your layout and listening to what you have to say which was very difficult...
I agree 100 percent...the music is just annoying and distracting..but some modelers just like to have music in the background...to each his own I guess..nice layout though...
Actually you're pretty sure rude" it's not about the music, this guy is spent so much time on his layout maybe you should try appreciate it instead of complaining
Skip ahead to 9:30 if you just want to see trains run.
Hell of a shelf!
Great layout. Great detailing and scratch building. You have packed a lot of scenery in a small area. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching!
Very nicely done. I worked as a switchman on the DRI & NW from 1979 to 1987. My first job right out of High School.

This is just wonderful to watch, beautiful, thanks so much
Simplicity at its finest, yet packing quite the wallop. SUPERB!
Teriffic layout! Thanks for sharing and inspiring those of us that are new to the model railroading hobby.
Wow, what a fantastic layout you have. It's packed with detail and to such a high standard. I may have to steal a few of your ideas for my next layout!😊 Keith
Amazing what can be done in small spaces....love the detailing !
Thank you. Be sure to view 1 and 2 as well.

Very nice layout. Like the combine loads. You packed a lot of railroading in the space. Looks enjoyable to operate.
at first glace from outside the room..the layout appears to be an expanded oval..once inside and your introduce the purpose, track plan and both the scratch builds and the detail..it becomes superb. You did a very nice job..much to be very happy with. Thank you for sharing. Tom
Thanks for the kind words. I should have slowed down my "scripted" words a bit. It sounds like I had 4 cups of coffee before I shot this :)
What a great little layout...and your commentary was very instructive and informative . Well done!
Beautiful layout and very inspiring! Thanks for sharing.

It's nice to actually finish a layout. Plan one that's not too big that you can complete in a few years or so, not a lifetime :)
Amazing layout!!!!
Hi! I love your layout. I've a room seem like that. Is possible to have a track plan of your layout? Thank you
Neat layout!! Love your Soo Line engines especially (my favourite RR, so I'm biased!!)
THANK YOU...for sharing. Very nice.

I wasn't aware of the Soo presence in IA.
Go Hawks!
Very nice
I'm thinking the Purina tower could use a blinking clearance light. Otherwise great layout!

Ok let's see a video of it on UA-cam:)

Nice layout.
THANK YOU FOR DETAIL VIDEO ON SMALL DETAIL LAYOUT
Nicely done - 'trailer trash' scene, classic!
Where can i purchase the HO Scale cars and trucks and 18 Wheelers? Nice layout by the way!
I like to buy my stuff at train shows and swap meets. Most of it is new . Quality over quantity. Buy the nice stuff but just a few pieces at a time.
Great looking layout. Thanks for sharing.-Ed.(just subscribed)
Nice & cool
I like the 6:36 caboose, scratchbuilt?

milton robinson The connector brand I used is "Molex" .062" series. www.waldom.com
Nice, and congratulations for persistent
Still a BiG fan of your work. Have you spent much time with it lately?
I've been spending time completing an N Scale winter layout. It's done and also on my youtube channel if you want to look. My HO shelf layout is pretty much done. I've been running trains on it and that's about it.
About time for a new layout video(;
Yea, it's only been like 4 years :) But I'm essentially DONE!
Very nice bedroom-size layout. Looks great and I really like your industries. Loved the first Driline train with the combines. What did you use for the pink lady ballast?

Awesome video! Just curious, what is the song you used in the background? I’ve heard it on Model Railroader and I can’t find it.
It's just a free music clip on imovie on my imac computer.
What is the radius of your curves? Nice layout.
27". Go as wide as you can. 30" would be better. That way you can run long passenger and other cars. There's nothing worse than having a tight radii and finding out half your stuff won't negotiate the curve.
Great video, love the layout.
Very impressive layout, but the background music kind of drives me nuts.
😂🤣 short trip?
Breaking out the steamer in the end xd 🙂
Talking about his dioramas... completely ignores the fact that Santa Claus is on the roof.
is that 24" deep?
No. It varies anywhere from about 7" to about 20" in the widest spot.

All the starving Eithiopians and
Why does EVERYONE use this tune?!? I'm sick of it...
Blame UA-cam.
