Jean Millington provided some very strong competition on that front. Both were great, but Suzi wasn’t alone on being a great bassist and singer. Personally, I’d rank Suzi higher for vocal abilities, and Jean higher as a bassist. Suzi was likely well aware of this, as her sister Patti went on to be a member of the band Fanny alongside Jean.

She was young then, looking awesome. how could a 14 yo kid not fall in love. 48 crash the best, she was the brittney spears of the 70s. dad could simply not understand.🥰
Saw her in concert in Jakarta, Indonesia in 1975 or '76. Huge indoor sporting venue & it was packed with thousands. I was in 11th or 12th grade. It was a long & awesome event. She changed costumes 2 times. All catsuits, one black, then different lighter colors. Love that Rock & Roll. Suzi gave it everything! Glad she's still rockin' it!
37 years ago. Hard to believe that today we lost our rock roots and were forced to sit in front of the TV watching that dreck during the Grammys. Long live Suzi, Slade and the Jam!!

I disagree. The crews, of B52, Vaia con Dios or Shocking Blue had cool female singers. One on my top 5 list is Nina Simone. I grew up in the 70´s and 80´s and we could enjoy plenty of cool singers from my time and the 60´s as well. But yes, Suzi is one of them.
The first album I ever bought was Can The Can, I was in love with her then and still am now. I've seen her in concert twice here in Australia, the latest was last year & man can she still rock it.
As a young teenager, I had a star poster from the German BRAVO magazine hanging up in my room from this little “power pack”. I was once able to see Suzi live at an oldies night in Oberhausen. She is part of my life! :-)

I can watch it again and again. Suzi Q deserves to be in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, maybe not for the Chinnichap songs, but for being the inspiration and muse for thousands of female rockers. UK Hall of Fame for sure. If this is the internet age, there should be a way to start a viral campaign to get her into the HOF.
