Goodbye #CITV!
After 40 years it’s the end of an era….
Last night #childrensITV aired for the final time to make way for the new ITVx Kids channel. I tuned into the last hour just to go a little bit down #memorylane
Children’s ITV launched my TV career almost 25 years ago, like many who came before and after me.
I became the first (and only) black female to present the afternoon continuity in its 40 year history.
Starting way back in 1983, it was my chosen kids TV channel growing up & it was a dream to become a CITV presenter many years later & a part of its legacy.
I started with amazing #kidstv #presenters like #michaelunderwood #davidjleon #leighhamilton #daniellenicholls #ANNAWILLIAMSPM #katemcintyre #stephenmulhern alongside our extended CITV Family / #SMTV crew, #antanddec #tessdaly #briandowling #desclarke et al!
They were informative years, and being thrown into live, unscripted TV almost overnight has been the making of me and in part what has fuelled my fire throughout my journey - on and off screen.
I was super green back then as it was my first real #tvpresenter gig 😅 🙈 but kids tv was how new talent broke into the industry and I’m forever grateful for the opportunity. 💫
So many memories. So many stories. So much fun.
I wish I could do a #documentary all about it and relive it once again.
CITV you’ll be missed. 💙💛❤️
