When I first spoke publicly about having Bipolar I received so many encouraging comments, however I still received many ignorant comments steeped in the taboo of what mental illness really is. Especially within the Black community. It’s seen as embarrassing and shameful.
Bipolar doesn’t discriminate. It can affect anyone, and we need to normalise these convos within our communities in order to affect change and more people willing to seek help and not live in fear, like I used to.
Join Bipolar UK alongside myself and a panel of guests to discuss how we tackle Mental Health stigma in the black, Asian and ethnic communities.
    It’s on #WorldBipolarDay - Tuesday 30th March 2021 and via a virtual conference.
