If I'm not mistaken I think the Griswold A frame gates came off a recently ( last 5 to 7 years ) scrapped out BN line out of Springfield or Peoria. You could go on Google Maps street view and using the older view feature see them in place many if not all all of the gated crossings still sporting black and white A frame gates in the 2010s
@daltondick5223 Canton Illinois S.4th and Elm just south of the old Burlington depot in town. If you click on other dates for the street view the 2013 street view will show the old A frame gates. There may be other crossings with them still visible but it looks like Google pulled down some of the older street views ( they were getting a bit low res) as a lot more A frames were visible but not any more.
nice to see the Illinois railway museum has not only nice older trains but also a very nice collection of old railway crossings too
Awesome video! The museum certainly has a neat collection of crossing equipment :)
Thanks! It sure does!

Great video! I love how you got a Griswold gate in this video! Nice job finding all the wig wags as well!
Thanks!
Beautiful video. really enjoyed. It is a great pleasure to see that this city belongs to my favorite country, the USA
Thanks!
Gametrain Productions welcome
This is a great video, always wondered how many crossings they had.
Thanks!
*00:52* i definitely have a bias for those pedestal signals, especially with what it had.

Thanks!
@@kyleb06 gated crossing is my favoirte
I love little railroad crossings
Same.
Cool video of the wig wag crossings and US&S teardrop bells👍🏼! I also like the electric cars!
Thanks!
Why was the main wig wag at 2:51 covered?
Also nice! The museum is a great place and can’t wait to go again!
It was being repainted/restored. I agree, it's a very fun museum! Thanks!
Oh. And yes it is!
Érdekes köszönöm!👍👍👍
Köszönöm a megtekintést!
Was Thomas here when you filmed
I recorded on different days, but either way, no
Great video and place!!
Thanks!
What days is the railroad crossing at 0:55 used? Is it used everyday the museum is open or only on special occasions?
It's used every day they're open.
How bout the one with the 1st gen teardrop?
In 2018 it activated every time a train passed it, which was every day. In my 2019 trip though, it never went off, even though trains passed it.
Ya think I should ring it with my hand or is that not a good idea b/c of the electric switch?
Well, it's also in the middle of the tracks, on a controlled switch.
Great video and crossings!
Thanks!
Do the locomotives on showcase weekend run through the railroad crossings too?
I'd imagine they run through Gate A, Depot Street #3, and Central Avenue, but not the rest.
Where is this, in ILLINOIS? I'm all over Illinois and love love the trains. I think my name was Jenny. (J Denver. )
⌚ m. Illinois. Elgin
It's in Union, IL, about 50 miles from downtown Chicago and about 25 miles from Rockford.
I can see the banners for the Thomas Event.
Yeah.
Cool cool, the train only had a 2 hour delay sl se are good
Thanks!
At 0:30 I noticed only one of the two wig wags is working.
Yea, some of the wig wags there decide they don't want to turn on sometimes. No idea why.
HOLLELUIUH, wait a minute, some of the signals are wearing out. NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
It's fine it's America's largest railroad museum they'll fix them.
Nice video! I can see TommyBNSF influenced you lol
Thanks!
Nice!
Thanks!
Nice
Thanks!
Love wig wags :)
Same
Will they fix that wigwag
It's fine, just for some reason it decides to not turn on sometimes. IIRC, it was working later that day
I went here once
Epic, it's very fun and I try to go everytime I'm in Chicago. It's like railfan paradise.
illinois is a unique state
How so?
Gametrain Productions the amazing trains and crossing bells
Kinda the midwest in general, lol.
Half the time the signals are either not fully functional LMAO
