Hello, and welcome to the channel! I'm a railfan from the Wabash Valley area. My channel mainly focuses on railfanning, including shots of trains and railroad crossings. Occasionally, I also post videos of traffic lights and tornado sirens. I take trips to railfan so you will see videos from a variety of places on here.

History was made on Saturday 8-24-24 as hundreds were on the chase of NS train 256. 256 would be making its final run and 255 would be making its second to last. BNSF coal trains are cool on CSX
Never a huge fan of the concept, and doubted it woulf last. But it worked for quite awile.
Why TH do trucks need signals? And that gate is practically touching the ground
They're mostly heavy duty construction vehicles, this just happened to be a small one

Nice crossing! There’s a CSX subdivision that’s a part of my childhood that once had 5 Safetran Hybrid bells. Now, only 2 remain.
Great video and nice crossing! Love the mix of older Conrail equipment and newer CSX equipment there, along with that older Harmon cantilever. The gateless ped signal on the far side is neat as well, don't believe that was ever done much down here in the southeast.

Lot of reasons to love this video. You can tell it's a young guy who's making this video; so nice to see someone his age (early or mid teens?) showing interest in this. And kudos to whoever was inside and thought they'd have some good fun with him by activating it! I'm sure they got a chuckle in the building seeing his reaction. Gotta love it.

That was a great shot you got of them in that meet! I caught the final NS 255 just before 4 AM yesterday. You are correct about the night-time meet, as it was in Michigan right around 3 AM. I was originally going for the 256, which I figured I could catch with not much time to spare, and be done so I could go get some sleep. It came through sooner than I thought, and I then ended up having to wait for 255. I was at Alvordton, OH (just south/west of the OH/MI border), which is basically in the middle of nowhere. Nobody else was around, and I could hear distant coyotes. Luckily, there happen to be just a couple street lights by that RR crossing. I waited about 3 hours before 255 came through. I lost sleep for that, but it was fun!

How come so many UP engines go through Terre Haute?
Honestly idk, feels like every time an NS engine goes through Terre haute, it has UP on it
Mostly UP transfers in St. Louis.
Pretty much all trains on the St Louis Line that continue west from Terre Haute except for I007/I008, locals, and grain trains are transfers to and from UP in Salem, IL or East St Louis, IL. Fans on the west end of the line that want to see CSX engines often nickname it the "UP Indianapolis Sub." Meanwhile, us on the east end are happy to see the constant foreign power.
