The beach is near perfect with white sand and crystal-clear waters, swaying palm trees and historical beauty. This is a for profit island for tourist only, so you are not going to see the cultures of the Caribbean Island. Nevertheless, the island is made for a PERFECT beach day experience.
There are popular and some of the best Bahamas shore excursions at Half Moon Cay and fun things for the entire family to include things to do like horseback riding, kayaking, jet skiing, hiking and more.

We were there in late August. It was awesome!!!! I would go back anytime!! The beach, the water, the stingray excursion...ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!

They are called Cabanas and the A/C is much appreciated. The 2 story structures are Villas and yes, yes, YES. The biggsst structure is the Private Oasis and it is worth every penny.

Great video. Really appreciate it. So getting from the entrance where you are dropped off to just past the last cabana where it is less busy is how long of a walk? I thought I heard you say 15minutes? Looked farther. I'm a slower walker too hehe
Hi thanks for watching my video. I really hope you enjoy your trip. Yes, it will takes about 15 minutes for you to get to one of the parts of the beach that’s not so busy. If you are a school worker, I would give it 20 minutes. It looks further away than it is.

If you have problems walking far, does the shuttle take you down further on the beach where its least crowded?
The shuttle and passengers do give priority to people who have mobility issues. However, it will not take you further than anyone else.
Maybe I'm just spoiled by Royal Caribbean's CoCo Cay but this private island seems very much dysfunctional and disorganized.

That’s a good question. You can pay for excursion on the island, or on the cruise ship. Because the cruise ship owns the island the prices are identical.

That’s interesting. I thought the island belong to carnival and they allowed HOLLAND American to use it. Either way I think it’s a fun place.

So if I have excursion at 11 I won't need ty stand in line the nite before to get a pass that would be great hate standing in line anywhere
That is correct. If you have an excursion, they want to get you off the boat first.

Generally speaking, if you’re an American citizen, all you usually need is a government ID.

Good question. If you want to buy a flotation device, I strongly recommend you bring it from home. They do sell it on the cruise ship but it is super expensive.
What about umbrellas? Can you rent umbrellas?
Hi, and thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. As far as I know, they do not rent umbrellas. I don’t recall seeing folks with umbrellas also. If you ever get a chance to go, please let me know what you think.
I was there in April and rented an umbrella but it was costly in my opinion for a private island. Also, we had to put it up and take it down ourselves which was very disappointing. Carnival needs to do better when it comes to this.

The walking is not too bad. One has so much adrenaline, energy, and excitement after leaving the ship doesn’t seem that far at all.
