    Good Job Daniel. She's a crusty one Mamma. Make the trades safe again Daniel. The fins slow the combustion gasses down so more heat is transferred to the heat exchanger. Smash that like button and Subscribe please people.

    Excellent work as always Daniel!!!!! Hate that dude has cancer but he should never have done a " repair " like that. Bonus is you figured out the problem your other co workers could not figure out. Huge asset to the company. My boiler has the old school expansion tank mounted to the basement ceiling I drain myself. Runs 12-15psi with cast iron radiators. Pressure at 20 still sounds good to me as well.

    As long as the two transformers are in phase you can have two. It is when they are wired to two different phases on the primary side that things don't go well

    • @drodriguez394
      @drodriguez394 6 місяців тому

      Look at the wiring diagram for a taco 3 wire zone valve. You have “T,T” from the boiler (a circuit mixed with the boiler transformer) intertwined with the zone valve transformer. Always baffles me.

  • @billnahorn3939

    Don’t know anything about boilers but if I installed one I would always put a tee where the pressure gauge is that way you could install your own,make sure there’s is correct. Keep up the good work ( very smart young man)

    So who’s the genius that cut the side of that box up to get a look at the heat exchanger instead of doing it the proper way? Unless you completely insulate and cover that it is not gonna perform the way it should.

    wow some crazy setups people have that closet on outside of house for heating system is stupid who designs a house like that? I would be worried the door would blow open in a storm or you can't get to it when snow is piled up in front of door.

    • @DCHVAC
      @DCHVAC  6 місяців тому +1

      It’s not stupid it’s great, unlimited access to fresh combustion air, easy serviceability, easy replacement. The doors are strong and they’re held together by a good lock setup. Just shovel the snow out of the way, New York only gets so much snow. I love setups like this, the piping needs to be worked on, but the location is amazing.

    Need a trap on that condensate drain. If the evaporator is on the return side of the blower. If you look at the curb you can tell it’s rusted out also possibly from unit not being able to drain properly in the A/C mode.

    Can you quote the code that says you can’t use Teflon on gas? I’ve always heard mixed claims by different people, it’s ok, it’s not ok. I can never find it in the code.
    I looks in the fuel gas code of New York State. Found nothing disqualifying Teflon.

    • @DCHVAC
      @DCHVAC  6 місяців тому

      403.9.3 “shall be resistant to the actions of liquified petroleum gas”
      If you do any minute research you’ll find almost all teflon tape products (PTFE) are 100% teflon, and regardless contain teflon. They are ALL equally immune to being broken down by gasoline, LP, NG, Jet A, etc.
      That’s all that I’ve ever looked into and documented and that’s far beyond good enough reason.

    • @drodriguez394
      @drodriguez394 6 місяців тому

      @@DCHVAC nice thanks I found the full quote
      Thread joint compounds shall be resistant to the action of liquefied petroleum gas or to any other chemical constituents of the gases to be conducted through the piping.
      Looks like that allows for Teflon as long as it’s designed for it. Such as
      1/2" x 1000" Gas Guard PTFE Thread Sealing Tape

    • @drodriguez394
      @drodriguez394 6 місяців тому

      @@DCHVAC and actually, I looked up the chemical compatibility of PTFE you should do the same it lists a lot of things, among those things, in alphabetical order very specifically it lists natural gas for compatibility . Look into it.
      Personally I use dope, but doesn’t seem like Teflon is illegal to me even with the code you quoted.
