That Jack in the Box worker was top notch. Heard your negative self talk and I'm sure saw it on your face and still gave a shit enough to ask how you were doing. A+ to her.
I also have opted to never do shopping orders. Not worth it. Too many headaches & the money ain't worth it. This newest added responsibility further adds to the headaches
@@mlmMorabitoyeah dollar generals also don’t really have things where it should. Bunch of random shit every where. Better hope the dollar general worker isn’t a dollar worker or else you gonna look for that junk 😂
I haven't seen the produce thing yet but just about every order I do I have to take a pic of the shelf to supposedly help other dashers but I never see any pics when I'm doing a shop and deliver lol
🍆's are in 2 sections of the store.. in the egg department and the plant department.. The 🥑's are kept in the "you'd have to pay me well to eat that" department 🤣 Charlie the way you roll with the punches is a beautiful thing 😁 👍☮️🤗💚
DoorDash in Indiana doesn’t even give me a preview of the shopping orders. If you enjoy gambling with extremely high losing odds, 2024 gig work is the place to be 😎🇺🇸
Doordash telling us our time doesn't matter when they pay so little for active time. I hope it picks up for you Charlie. I know in my area people who have not delivered and only do so for the holidays are out in force making orders more far few and between.
As someone on the consumer side of this, I always tip and always wish it were more. From watching some other delivery drivers, I guess I tip pretty well. I value the work you folks do and wish you were treated better. Good luck.
It's a fine line. Why tip anyone, ever? You go sit at a restaurant and you feel you must tip, right? You go to McDonald's and we never tip right? Both are restaurant workers cooking and serving food. There is not a 100% legitimate argument for this. What about you order a product online? If it's an urber or doordash order you feel the need to tip? Why? Do you tip the ups, USPS, Amazon van drivers? Why do you not tip them? They are delivering items the same as Uber. If Uber doesn't pay enough without the tips then ppl will stop picking up the routes and Uber/Dash will start paying more or go out of business. So, tip if you feel obligated but you're just discriminating against a certain work opposed to others.
@@wills8705 Why not make this argument to the CEOs of the delivery services rather than the drivers and customers, neither of whom make the decisions?
UPS and USPS drivers employees make pretty damn good money. Plus they receive benefits insurance, etc.. they also do not have vehicle maintenance expenses because they’re driving their employers vehicle. When it comes to tipping to to each his own
Regarding the PLUs, the only thing that makes sense to me is that Dashers are giving people regular produce when customers pay more for organic produce and DD has been getting too many complaints. I’m going to have to make a cheat sheet for easy reference since a lot of PLU stickers fall off or the produce doesn’t have them at all. It hasn’t t hit my market yet, hopefully it takes awhile before it does.
In most Safeway stores, the service deli, and its associated self serve cases, are on the opposite corner of the store from either the meat department's deli-type items, or the dairy case, and its dips. Even worse are juices because there's some near the dairy, some in the grocery aisles near the water, and two -- sometimes three -- places in the produce department (not to mention the frozen options.) Fruit jerky snacks are in multiple places, too. Cheese is in at least three places. I even have a store that the Hershey's chocolate sauce can be on opposite sides of the store depending on the size of the bottle! Finding them gets easier with practice, but with 8 different Safeway stores in my zone, there are times that I have to take an extra trip across a whole store.
I'm at 2% AR on DD and not getting anything worthwhile. 1% AR with 11% cancelation on UE- majority are from orders picked up already where I'm hit on completion %. Been slow slow slow.
Yea because you’re at 2% ar 😂 you are so low on the rung that you’re one of the last to get an order so all the good stuff is more than likely picked up
Sadly it took me 512 shopping orders to finally opt out on 11/15. DD kept sending emails saying your card will expire on 11/15/2024 when clearly it says 11/26 on the card. 🤨 My breaking point was a customer who gave me a Costco card as ID for 'shop for alcohol' order then proceeded to explain that they were going through a divorce. Sad but TMI. 🤬 I'm so glad I opted out...less stress. I'll just stick to food and alcohol deliveries. Dang Charlie that $40 for five hrs?!?!? WTH!!!
Nope. If I start seeing that I will stop doing DD shop orders. These fools keep upping the work and dropping pay. 🖕DD the micro management is becoming worse than any W2
I had to enter a PLU two nights ago on some Avocados from Market Street. Problem was the only place that had the PLU was on the bin, and the bottom half of the tag was missing. I had no PLU, and had to go through a BS menu to add a couple small Avocados to the cart. The large Avocados didn't require a PLU lol.
I have a general question for everyone, considering that I'm on an ebike. Shouldn't I switch to pay by the hour? Because on an hour dash I'm averaging 2 orders
The reason for the numbers is not because people are stupid it is because doordash is also paid to track the distribution and sales of items. You just do their work for them
9 dollars? That's 7 dollars. Lol. 2 dollars is not profit. Also penalties for not the store having what they ordered and taking pictures with no service in the store's.
Yeah, it took 1 contract violation for tampering when I stopped doing that. Doordash doesn't want to refund or credit the customer for missing items so they want us to check.. Nope! I'm good..
That Jack in the Box worker was top notch. Heard your negative self talk and I'm sure saw it on your face and still gave a shit enough to ask how you were doing. A+ to her.
You're not alone I have great days and then several crappy days
More work less money
0 base pay coming soon.
I will do gig work until it doesnt make sense anymore. We are almost there.
Maybe you should fold or man up
We need this just like we need to take a picture of the receipt at pick up lol😂
6:20 I still have the PLU 4011 stuck in my head from 35+ years ago.
you can't pay me enough to shop for someone when the regular pick up orders pay the same
How do people get excited doing shopping orders? All it took for me was 12 shopping orders to say never again.
I also have opted to never do shopping orders. Not worth it. Too many headaches & the money ain't worth it. This newest added responsibility further adds to the headaches
I used to like it until we got a dollar general and that was it for me nothing but a headache
@@mlmMorabitoyeah dollar generals also don’t really have things where it should. Bunch of random shit every where. Better hope the dollar general worker isn’t a dollar worker or else you gonna look for that junk 😂
I hate shopping orders if they are for more than just a few items. In fact, that was screwing up my Spark acceptance rate today.
We appreciate those of you that don’t do it. Thank you 🫡
It fell off the cliff on Monday and hasn’t come back yet
I haven't seen the produce thing yet but just about every order I do I have to take a pic of the shelf to supposedly help other dashers but I never see any pics when I'm doing a shop and deliver lol
I can't even get a schedule or dash now on my area.
Yeah I usually don’t take McDonalds orders I only take the big orders
Well instacart makes me put in a plu number so I guess door dash will now too. Pisses me off
I’ve been having these days more often than not lately. 😢
Im getting closeto 600 shopping orders and only thing i like about it is all the receipts i scan on my fetch app so i can make extra gas money
🍆's are in 2 sections of the store.. in the egg department and the plant department.. The 🥑's are kept in the "you'd have to pay me well to eat that" department 🤣 Charlie the way you roll with the punches is a beautiful thing 😁

Door Dash doesn't have standards. These companies did have standards before 2021 but not now.
If the PLU comes to my market, Ill be sure to accept orders with very, very few produce.

Ya I agree I would just have someone shop and drive for me not going through an app
Instacart started the PL u's today November 20th.I've never had to do it in two years Like shopping for produce doesn't already suck
Like Michael Jackson’s song…”All I want to say is [they] don’t really care about us.”

We have to put plu numbers in Dallas now too!

I like that black delivery bag how much did it cost and where did you get it at ?

It's been a really bad day for me in California. Been on since 11am it's now 1pm only had one order hit my phone.
Uninstall the app then reinstall it you'll be okay
I do instacart and they just started doing it to us too, such a headache, but money is good so I just suffer through it😅

I quit shopping years ago
Damn your day sounds like some of mine...being in a small market has its advantages but it can be sooo slow
Hahaha more and more tasks from DD without the pay
I have a general question for everyone, considering that I'm on an ebike. Shouldn't I switch to pay by the hour? Because on an hour dash I'm averaging 2 orders
I thought an eggplant was only a made up emoji!
every update adds a step to "idiot proof" the app and takes more time to complete every order ultimately costing us dashers money. Every single time.
The reason for the numbers is not because people are stupid it is because doordash is also paid to track the distribution and sales of items. You just do their work for them
You don’t wanna go out with anyone lol
9 dollars? That's 7 dollars. Lol. 2 dollars is not profit. Also penalties for not the store having what they ordered and taking pictures with no service in the store's.
The flex capacitor! 4:55 the consequences could be disastorus
🤣 great Scott!
I had to take a picture of a full chicken at the store the other day...why?
why was there a chicken at the store? people bringing pets into stores is so cringe haha
To prove it was a chicken and not a Cornish hen? Otherwise I have no idea.
Could be any number of reasons. One being DD wants proof an item is in stock so they have proof of a contract violation. We are their eyes and ears.
What’s the dollar challenge about .
Uner eats is rolling out scheduling in 4 markets
1:16 Charlie i'm always working the gig economy part-time so this week my average $ per trip is $50/trip
That's crazy..hoping it doesn't come to Canada anytime soon. Doing this for those whose 1st language isn't English?
I stay away from produce
How hard is it? A 9 is in front of the regular non organic number if its organic
Some of the stuff they have us doing is just dumb. Like ask the store to open the bag and show you the items. Like stop wasting everyone’s time
Yeah, it took 1 contract violation for tampering when I stopped doing that. Doordash doesn't want to refund or credit the customer for missing items so they want us to check.. Nope! I'm good..
I pity the fool that doesn't choose Mr & Mrs T Bloody Mary mix
18:48 something something his mom something something.
That's what dd does it waists your time on purpose it's in the algorithm
what's FA & FO?
Fk around and find out
What’s an eggplant?
Can I get a sticker!?
Okay so on 20:00 🕗 that was a dumb conversation. Does no one watch the whole damn video. Maybe it’s just me but that was worth a comment on lmao
