2018-2019 Honda Odyssey DVD Player Install

Our 2018 Honda Odyssey DVD player went out and I didn't want to pay the dealership $1500 to have it fixed so I did it myself. It was extremely easy and only took about a half hour total. I forgot to video taking the dash apart, but here it is of everything going back together. This should be the same for the 2019 Odyssey also. I'm not sure about any other year models.

I just finished the install and it works! Thank you!! A couple notes: I didn’t have to remove the center console part (below where the drawer pulls out) and the hose under the driver’s dash does have a mating piece that it connects to. Otherwise, the actual BluRay player has two screws at the bottom and two screws left/right. Once you remove those, the player comes out and there are three plugs to undo and redo. You saved me $1,000+. Actually, the kids would have just lived their lives without movies in the van.

Did you have issues with the display console not working after replacement? I just changed mine in a 2019 and now the display console won’t turn on

Thank you. Following what you did & replace my DVD player. Spent $320 for a used one & now my kids can stop bothering me while driving.
I had a bit of trouble putting it back, it’s mostly due to putting back the front part. The rest was pretty easy.

What were the symptoms of your broken DVD player? I have a 2018 Odyssey Elite and the DVD player plays the movies but there’s no video on the screen. Was yours doing something similar?

It would just say “No Disk” when you put one in.

How's the replacement holding up. I need to make the same repair. CPO vehicle player died within a year.

We actually sold the Van already. It was still working just like new when we sold it!
