One things you guys haven't touched on yet (and something that greatly affects our channel) is if you leave auto-dubbing ON, you cannot go back in and add YT music/audio tracks to your video once it's done processing. I usually pepper in a few YT songs to our videos but was not able to do that on our last 2 uploads until i went into settings and channel upload defaults and unchecked the auto-dubbing "feature". I now have to re-upload those same 2 videos if i want to add music. Kinda stupid feature quirk.
The biggest challenge our channel has had over the last 2 years is what language to make the title and thumbnail in because we speak 3 different languages in our videos. The majority of our viewers are from Indonesia. If I make the title & thumbnail only in Bahasa Indonesia, then it limits who might click on it. I also make subtitles for 3 languages in all of our videos, and it is very time consuming. Translating and making subtitles usually takes 3 days. The person who sent you an email saying they post a video in English and one in their native language - I just don't know how they would have time to do that, so time consuming!
Getting SO close to 500 subscribers, AFTER 9 years! Thanks for all the great advice VidIQ!! To all the creators out there grinding and chasing dreams, this is where we rise together. Every bit of support helps build something bigger-every click, every connection, every milestone. Let’s turn hard work into something unforgettable as we push toward the next big goal!
There was a youtuber who was putting out negative vids, so I muted their channel. They turned around and stopped it, I'm back to watching again. I even said thank you for approaching the topic in a positive way.
Well when I go to a channel, usually their most popular VIDS are Negative Vids. So that isn't going to change much, anytime soon. What is just a bad, fake positive channels. There has to be a Middle Ground somewhere in between.
nah it kinda makes sense and works how all content works the only issue is that finding shorts in search is harder than longform. but the way it works is still show it to people, see how it performs, if people arent really viewing it or dont really seem to like it then stop showing it in feeds, if someone finds it in search and enjoys it then they start showing the video again in feeds whether the shorts feed for shorts or the recommended section for longform. if it didnt work like this and it just constantly showed shorts over and over again no matter what then they would just become view farms and would end with a lot more shortform content that just isnt gud because there would be way less reason to actually try.
One thing to think about when it comes to auto dubbing. Brands like to see a high percentage of your views coming from USA and Canada. They will often ask to see your demographics. I am able to land some decent size deals based on my 92% USA and Canadian viewers. If that percentage goes down it will reduce my value to brands. Just my 2 cents incase you cooperate with brands.
I'm an estate agent in France doing UA-cam for my business. To do this I watch a lot of US based content, some UK based stuff and obviously French based content. And to be honest, Real Estate videos ( listing videos or info videos) are totally different in every country, not because of the types of houses, but the filming style. Keeping it simple for the listing videos for example, US are well presented staged walk throughs set to music, UK is hand held walkthroughs with the agent talking and France is very much unstagged hand held phone videos, but the french are starting to do more on the social media buzz side, but are still at the "argh!!" stage!
Love this video. There is a lot to consider here especially with short form content. I have noticed a lot of the idol games lives happening like you have on tiktok where they move balls from one lane to another, or stack objects etc. So there seems to be the flow from ticktock to yt.
I watch UA-cam on my TV almost exclusively. I am forever thankful for the 1.5/2x speed. I seldom watch or listen to videos that are not speeded up. I even watch YT movies at 1.25x. I don’t create but do consume alot. I don’t have anything to make videos on that I think people would want to watch or that hasn’t already been done a ton.
As of now it seems that the auto dubbing can significantly drop the quality of the original work and even change the meaning or confuse viewers. For instance we have a video featuring Dick Van Dyke and the Spanish Auto dub had a female voice for Dick Van Dykes iconic voice. I laughed but then turned of the Auto dub feature for the channel as it was so bad. If you were releasing a film or TV show I can't imagine accepting this level of dubbing.
I started out doing DIY content, and would spend a week editing each video. I feel like UA-cam Dramas are becoming, those insider breakdowns on celebrities lives, you watch on Netflix, in 2025 for UA-cam. I Do think that good amount of new creators in 2025, will start their Channels with breakdown popular UA-camrs. And make that some kind of side hustle to get lot of money because it’s popular!!
UA-cam creator of three small channels. I absolutely hate the long short format. One of my channels is shot vertical (tarot card flip thru) and range between 2 to 5 minutes. It’s forcing me to use long shorts. So now I have to explore what to do with my videos to keep it in the format that I’m happy with. Also for your stats, I watch all my YT on the television.
I'm going to upload a bunch more shorts next year. I actually stopped uploading shorts since I somehow got less views than my widescreen videos for some reason. I'm going to make different shorts that are even shorter and slower paced with a crazy song that everyone uses for hybrid animals. I want some views of the hybrid animal pile since I'm the only one who does more than make some videos. I allow people to actually collect every hybrid animal picture in my videos and rank on a leaderboard where they can win a game sometimes.
Kind of funny, one of them talks about the old way of doing videos with a CTA at the beginning, but this video starts immediately with a CTA. Good info to hear though.
I think A/B testing is very flawed. I think it's cool if you want to test new designs, or maybe you have multiple designs, BUT. I personally, as a test subject, noticed a video with one thumbnail and I chose to watch a different video in my homepage "suggested section" first. When I came back to my "suggested section" of my homepage, the same video had a different thumbnail, and it was one I liked less. I was torn, because I didn't want to not watch the video, but I also didn't want to "vote" for that thumbnail. So, I provided UA-cam with an anecdotal support for one thumbnail and it was only because I chose to watch the video later. If this happened to me, I assure you it will happen to others as well.
December has been kind to this small channel! Only 408 subs, but pulled 51 hours yesterday alone! My best month so far as far as view hours, views, and subscribers! Excited for the new year!
Unfortunately, I'm getting the same negative vibe that Rob brought up around 33 minutes in. The scary part is I see that in the news and other social network. So I'm worried that we as people are just getting more negative. I do my best to moderate what I can in my channel. But I see it run rough shod in other channels.
21:03 No, but seriously, children's songs with an animation video can get CRAZY views. Just look at nursery rhymes channels. Except I guess that content made for children gets way less money per million views because of the lack of targeted advertising.
So basically none of you know your all guessing and the big picture is, there's something for everybody on UA-cam, because YT figures out what you like and recommends to you what they think you'll like based on what You watch.
One thing that appeals to me and I heard it from a youtuber I follow, can't remember who it was, but one of the recommendation was to actually go and interview people live or virtual. This was more in relation to documentary style videos, which I am aiming to do, but also I think podcast style talking to people is more engaging than a talking head. Even the more charismatic people, like Neil degras tysen with his startalk often interviews people. Besides it's more motivating than just trying to come up with ways to make just talking to the camera more interesting. So that's my focus this coming year 2025. Interview people. Have a wonderful new year guys and see you on the other side.
I spend only a few hours editing my videos and I grew my channel from 0 to over 3.400 subscribers in less than 4 months. Those videos get more views than my professionally edited videos
I just finished filming myself making jerky and I did it in two parts. I have no idea how to make it one video so it will probably be a two part series.
I have a question, as I am a small and newly monetized content creator from Canada. As of late there has been talks about Tarriffs on goods. Would this affect Canadian and other content creators abroad or not working in the United States. I recently went through the process of submitting my tax and treaty information on Adsense and I am aware that a chunk of my revenue from US Viewer ship is with held and I don't get that revenue. Upon reflecting on that I said could Tarriffs affect my channel further since I am exporting my Canadian channel content to US Viewers. Another reason why I came to this thought process, is that Trump is asking the Supreme court to hold off on Tiktok ban. He is a business man so he might say sure you can stay in America but i want to Tarriff your content. This as a content creator would make me looking at this further and also consider where i want to post my content. Also I would expect platforms to give me more freedom to push content to other countries or potentially look at companies locally in Canada or based in other countries to promote my content that is not behind a Tarriff wall.
STARTED A COOKING CHANNEL this December 2024, This Is A Cooking niche (because of my professional background) and I'm trying to figure out the best way I should showcase this! If YOU are more versed in content creation PLEASE share with me your best TAKE, I should follow. THANK YOU and HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU ALL!

Slowly my channel growing, I hope in 2025 my channel will grow faster but I need to get more work on it.

Small creators 2025 will be our year 🎉❤
I spend only a few hours editing my videos and I grew my channel from 0 to over 3.400 subscribers in less than 4 months.
