    Thank you so much for this amazing video. I installed the v4 head and cylinder kit, along with the Forcemaster 2, after ordering from Scooterwest. It turned out great, and your video made it super easy to install. It's the little tips and tricks (how to remove/install the rubber stud o-rings, how to remove/install the piston clips and rings, how to properly torque, how to disassemble/reassemble the auto-decompression system) that made this completely worthwhile. You guys are great, and thank you for this video!

    I bought a new Vespa GTS 300 Super in November 22. It was delivered with only the test drive mileage on 8 mile . It was garaged over the winter months ( UK) kept on battery tender . Upon starting it a few week ago it just didn’t sound right , a clattering noise from the top end . I made a video of the problem and sent to my dealer who by the way is top notch having bought scooters from them over twenty year . After a week I was informed that the problem was the decompressor , a part of it had broken off and damaged the valves. So it needs a new top end apparently no other damage . As yet I’m still waiting for it to be repaired . The dealer informed me that in over seventeen year selling the GTS , they had never encountered this problem before . Just shows first time for everything, although I wasn’t expecting this on a brand new scooter .

    i bought a Yamaha Warrior 350cc ATV
    and rebuilt the whole thing, engine included. yes it was fun to ride, but had more fun rebuilding. the knocking that came from the crankshaft eventually went away, and that as a miracle because it was pretty loud, but never replaced the crankshaft, just the sleeves. it was as quiet as a church mouse after a short time of riding. if i’m ever out in california again, i’ll make sure to drop in and say hello.
    who knows, maybe i’ll buy a scooter.
    nice job guys

    NO NO NO, NEVER use a screw driver to install rings!! You run the risk of nicking them! Get a better ring compressor!! Also, ring gaps should ALWAYS be checked before installation. Don't take that for granted! Gap to tight and the rings will butt up and damage the cylinder bore.

As you know you can not turn the throttle while starting the bike since it will actually not start. Well the thing is that if i do the normal starting procedure (brake lever and start/ignition button) the bike will not start, actually there is not reaction/noise at all. After playing a bit with the throttle it will actually eventually start. Not sure if it really has anything to do with the problem. Any thoughts on the problem. Thank you in advace for your help. It's not hard. I installed the same kit on my GTV 300 at home. No real specialized tools required. My new Malossi top end is installed and running just fine, and this video was a fantastic reference. The little tips and tricks (the head stud o-rings, the decompression system bushing trick, etc.) are super helpful for the home mechanic. Took me 3 days (taking things slowly), and everything works perfectly now. Significant power increase. It cruises easily at 65mph, with plenty of throttle left for passing at freeway speeds. Top speed so far is just over 90mph on flat highway.

    I just got this... Do I need to lap the valves or are they already done? 6 10ths of a millimeter? my manual says to torque the head nuts to 7nm, 10nm then 270 degrees...

    What is the gain in horsepower with the Malossi kit over the factory OEM components?

    • @VespaMotorsport
      @VespaMotorsport  9 років тому +7

      sonothesouth We have dynoed both a stock GTS and a GTS with the Malossi bolt on head and cylinder. It's about a 6 hp gain.

      ***** any downsides with such kits? higher gas consumption? what about reliablility with these tune ups?

      6hp is very impressive. Did you change anything else on injection, exhaust or transmission? Also if i put malossi camshaft, do i have to change anything on fuel supply?

      I would like to know too. Like most engine performance parts I imagine it would use more fuel.

      Soffian Zainal I pressume you're thinking of upgrading a 4 stroke, they're not the rare one's! (stock 2 stroke 125's are the rare one's) So as long as you have the money for a new engine in case you do run into problems it should be a fine move.

      Soffian Zainal The head is universal and will fit the Piaggio/vespa 4 -valve liquid cooled engines from 200-300cc.

      Unfortunately we're not familiar enough with European emissions regulations to answer that.

    Which one is more reliable the stock engine or with the malossi parts?

    • @yamahaaerox440
      @yamahaaerox440 9 років тому

      stock, when you start playing with engines they become less reliable, especially performance parts.

      TruthSeeker but the video mention that malossi engine is superior in many ways than stock , but I heard alot that in terms of durability , it can't last Long . May I know why? I kinda confuse
