I have wanted a Vespa for several years due to the uniqueness and historical nature of the beasts! This year I finally got my 2022 GTS HPE. It is an absolutely superb machine and well appreciated after many years of motorcycling. Thanks to ScooterWest for feeding my passion with Robots videos and accessory suggestions. I have become a loyal follower of Robot's school of Vespa maintenance and Fabio for assisting me in my initial purchase of required accessories and knowledge. A superb company and philosophy and one which I look forward to supporting my needs for all things Vespa for years to come! Thanks to all of the staff!

Absolutely fantastic stuff on your channel!!! Driving the same model in same color since 3 years, it runs at 2,7 liters a 100km, but is really hungry for oil and the fuel sensor quit its job about a year ago... But I still love this scooter so much! This channel is by far the best I've found concerning Vespas. Really a "must" for every Vespa-Owner 😂 Keep going, have fun, all the best for you all at Vespa Motorsport! 🙏 Chris form Austria...

It's a beautiful thing to watch a professional technician who knows the machine so well and has the tools/skills to do the job flawlessly. Thanks for this excellent lesson on the new HPE design, Robot. I have the older 2014 GTS 300 and I'm still working up enough lust to upgrade to the new HPE. I like to hear the plus and minuses of going away from the ease of the old machine to capture the perks of the new Vespa 300. The valve adjusting so reminded me of the 1971 Fiat 850 Spider I owned as a pup. I street Fixed It Again and again so many times my name should have been Tony. Knowing this level of workmanship pride still exists at Vespa Motorsport leads me toward a trade to new. See you guys as soon as the piggy bank is ready to break open again.

I would not buy the new 300 HPE here in central Florida Service is horrible parts on back order or the dealer just does not care. Mine was one week old and I lost it for 8 weeks wile the factory figured out why it would not crank or start warm. They finally replaced the entire engine. My Ft fender bracket was broke, Its been a year still waiting for a replacement. If I lived in Cali I would buy one from Scooter West in a heart beat. However I miss my old 2015 300 Vespa. The engine was less noisy and I felt it was a better engine. I was a idiot and never changed the anti-freeze in 4 years. ( 8 K miles ) It corroded out the cylinder head soft plug. If I had been smart I would have paid the service and kept the old Vespa. So sorry I traded.

I just completed a full 6000 mile service in my well equipped workshop here in the UK. I purchased all the original parts online . Some from the UK and some from sip Germany.
Everything was pretty straightforward as I have already upgraded the suspension. The mileage was actually 5177 but I'm glad I did it earlier as the tappets were at zero gap on the exhaust side and negligible on the intake. I replaced everything as required plus a belt guide roller and battery.
Much easier to work on once you've removed the bottom shock mounts and dropped the engine.
I test rode it today for about forty miles and it really is a different bike. Much better. Whatever you do check the tappets !. especially if you ride it fast.

For GT200 I would recommend adding to check the reed valve inside the carburetor every few thousand miles for any wear on the wings (Keihin) since it did happen quite often that those wings sort of cracked and threw small particles into the engine. That obviously caused severe damage. Thank you Robot for the great videos you make! I completely agree with not underestimating the valve clearance checking. I am now working on a Vespa were it was not serviced, the outlet valve was not closing properly which caused it to fall apart and inside the motor. Then you can imagine what happened next. Cheers and take care!

As a car mechanic for 15 years and just having a vespa for the last two years i find your videos the best. Attention to detail is amazing. It's just the little things like making sure the cooling fan works, it's takes time to check, but this is the difference between someone who cares and just doing the minimum to get the service done. I have a 2019 300 gts, the last model before the HPE and am looking to get the Lambda Emulator TURBO KIT, Fuel Injection Module PM Tuning, TFI and Racing Air Filter POLINI 90 PWK (which I will modify to fit) would love to pick ur brain on install/tuning tips or even a video to upload of how top do it. I've got the Remus dual exhaust fitted already. Unfortunately malossi don't make a foam filter for this model so I've had to make do. Would love ur feedback. Michael

Hi, i have been a fan for a few years of the website and Robot and it has made me so informed when it comes to scooters and motorcycles of all kinds. I rode a few bikes (Honda 74-360, 76-550 plus a 77 750-four) when i was younger and because of all the info I have received from your website I purchased an scooter (a Peugeot Django 125) when my wife and I bought a place in Croatia. I was going to buy a Piaggio product but everyone has a Piaggio of some sort so i thought I would different. i should have went with the Piaggio (the Peugeot does not have the support I am used to in Canada) but live and learn. Just wanted to say thanks a keep it up.

I’m glad I’ve gone back to bikes, and bikes with low service requirements that live up to high expectations. I’ve had two Vespa GTS 300ie supers, a 2007 and a 2015
There was more issues with the 15 than the 07 and I wasn’t even tempted with the hpe.
I still have a 1995 Vespa PX200efl and the bike is the Honda NT700v, like the PX in many ways, it’s a well sorted engine xx

Long long video, suggest a tea break or two to get through it. However very informative and I wish that I lived in California and this was my local service centre. Am on my second GTS as first one stolen and now have the HPE engine. A little disappointing to find it needs a 6k mile service and how complex it seems, and I only hope when I have my first service its done to the same standard as in the video.

I would make a pretty good wager that the foam on the inside of that transmission housing cover and the redesign to the airbox housing using the same filters as before are both noise abatement issues allowing a more open less restrictive exhaust for more horsepower.

Another great presentation Robot. I think it compliments the GTS 9K video that you did back in 2017. After watching I still found I'd learnt quite a bit. It's bit annoying for Piaggio to reduce the service intervals on the new HPE model especially for valve check and belt change. Most motor manufactures manage to increase service intervals not reduce them. If you are not mechanically minded, it's going to cost new owners a lot of money in servicing charges, especially at 160 minutes labour time plus parts!

    hello robot
I'm 70 years old and I've had motorcycles since I was 13, the 1st was a Honda c114 and after many Japanese, English, German, etc., as I have short legs I had to leave the 750 cc and currently I have, like you, a "Honda CB-1 400" plus 2 CBF 250 and now I bought a 2005 Piagiio X9 250 Evolution from a friend, this is my first sccoter and I actually like it a lot, so I dismantle it all and rebuild it mechanically and electrically, despite having all the manuals and having vast experience in preparing motorcycles and cars for races, I find your videos very useful. I take the opportunity to ask if it is possible to use the crankshaft and cylinder of the 300 in my engine, thank you for everything and I wish you all the best for your business.

Awesome video, great detail and very informative. I watched your video's because i am considering buying the new Vespa GTS HPE, and for all there are many innovative improvements over the old model, the service intervals and requirements seem a little excessive or reflect a slight lack of quality or design thought? it is disappointing to find that the GTS speedo here in the UK still comes with KPH been the prominent reading with MPH underneath in the smaller, hard to read format, unless of course you pay £5999 for the Supertech with the TFT Display, which means the TFT display costs approx £900. Unfortunately here in the UK it seems Vespa dealers are giving up their dealerships or losing them, certainly where i live in North Yorkshire, which means a 130 mile round trip for me for servicing and warranty work to a dealer (Ron Daley of Barnsley) who inspires confidence and gives great service. Vespa are starting to lose customers because of the lack of quantity and quality dealerships here in the UK. Like many comments before me, we so need a few Robot's here, and the dealerships to employ them.

Nice, thanks, greetings from the Netherlands,
I am happy i have the aprilia scarabeo 300.
My rear citygrip last like 10.000 miles.
    My belt 12000 miles.
Valve adjustment also 12000 miles but i did it when it had 6000 miles and there was to much space (0.15 and 0.25)
, i had to adjust it, it was just to wide. It had more power when it had 0.10 and 0.15 mm
I change my belt when it had 13000 miles, it became slower, when i had the new belt on it was much faster.
Better to change belt when 10000 miles on it because the scooter becomes slower, but with 13000 miles on it i saw no cracks.
I just changed my battery after 10 years, i never charged it but drive ones a week 30 miles on it.
Brake fluid and coolent i still never changed in 10 years time, maybe not a good idea.
I have 18000 mile on it now and engine working very well.
The service manual says oil every 6000 miles, but i prefer to do it every 4000 miles.
The engine really not likes to have the oil changed every 6000 miles but ad some new oil is also good to last longer.
Never look at the oil level for 6000 miles is a really bad idea like you said.
The big spring in the clutch i have to change every 6000 miles.
But i also have to change the smaller springs in the clutch now they became to weak.

Why is it that at 60k, 40 extra minutes are needed? Is it related to the 24 months interval and so, it is mandatory that every fluid must be replaced also? Thanks for keeping the channel and specially for this tutorial. Regards.

Should you always screw the dipstick in to check the oil on Vespa scooters, I thought you just rest it on top then pull out and check?
You don’t recommend greasing any of the bolt’s before refitting them?
How long Labour time do you charge for this service?

Isn't "safety (b)locks" also verifying that main bolts are correctly torqued? Because that item you are missing there. They usually say what are the main bolt to verify correctly torqued.

The variator guides that Robot uses in this video are tan, the variator guides sold on the scooter west for the GTS HPE are green. Is it ok to use the green variator guides on my GTS HPE?
