Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. 200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind - and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe waiting for them.
The series comes from Kilter Films and executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. Nolan directed the first three episodes. Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner serve as executive producers, writers, and co-showrunners. The series stars Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets), Walton Goggins (The Hateful Eight), and Aaron Moten (Emancipation). Athena Wickham of Kilter Films also executive produces, along with Todd Howard for Bethesda Game Studios and James Altman for Bethesda Softworks. Amazon MGM Studios and Kilter Films produce in association with Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks. The series cast includes Moisés Arias (The King of Staten Island), Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), Sarita Choudhury (Homeland), Michael Emerson (Person of Interest), Leslie Uggams (Deadpool), Frances Turner (The Boys), Dave Register (Heightened), Zach Cherry (Severance), Johnny Pemberton (Ant-Man), Rodrigo Luzzi (Dead Ringers), Annabel O'Hagan (Law & Order: SVU), and Xelia Mendes-Jones (The Wheel of Time). It will be available to stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. - Розваги
Dogmeat is immortal. That is Canon. No worries on that protagonist
Not in fallout 3 ,broken steel dlc made it possible to get a replacement
I accept this cannon...
@@rubindrouin9235... So he's immortal... And it's actually a perk
War. War Never Changes..... really hope Ron Perlman shows up in this somewhere.
Seriously. Him not narrating Fallout 4 was the biggest letdown
gotta be the opening line of the series
His voice was used as the news anchor in the beginning of Fallout 4😊
I wanna see him in a cameo leading a post apocalyptic biker gang
@@Charlie-ow9hh I reckon SAMCRO would do well in the Wasteland.
Oh nice, glad to see you're going to be covering this show!
Your Expanse breakdowns were easily my favorite videos to check out after watching each episode, so I'm definitely looking forward to doing that again here.
It's a letdown that they're releasing them all as a binge. would have been a blast to really get into it each week.
His voice always brings me back to the time of Expanse... somehow... nostalgic.
I'm glad you're covering the Fallout TV Show, as I have been watching your breakdown videos of For All Mankind.
I hope you do a video for each episode even though they're all dropping at the same time, as I enjoy your analysis.
I've played every game except the sole game that was console-only (Brotherhood of Steel), and have been a fan
of Fallout since its inception. Can't wait to see it and I'll be watching for your breakdown afterwards.
"War doesn't change" - John Fallout
Im cautiously hopeful for this series.
Me too, at least it looks the part.
the stories are great for the kind of games they are, I hope they can make that work on TV. seeing the world brought to life will be fun either way, but there's potential for more.
Why cautiously? It's essentially perfect
The folks behind Westworld being behind this makes me happy but makes me VERY cautious. If they don't try and go super cerebral with it like they did in Season 2-4 in Westworld, we're gonna be fine. The production quality is more than there and I love that it feels that little bit over the top.
They did to Westworld because there's most likely nothing beyond the park in old movie.
Season 2 of Westworld was actually good season 3 is where they fucked up .. either way it looks good
@@TerraJ-ug6nc Season 2 of Westworld was not good, you micro brain
I watch everything you cover. That's how much I appreciate your coverage of shows. 💯
The part about China launching the nukes or the US launching the nukes is still up for debate and is not definitive
I came here to see if anyone caught that
I´m only going to watch the tv show if I can puts mods on it
haha
Phenomenal trailer. I'm more a fan of Fallouts 1 & 2 than 3 & 4 (and of 76 not at all), but I'm so psyched for this. Walton Goggins looks amazing. I also really hope we hear Ron Perlman in those opening minutes.
Walton's description of The Ghoul at the media event really got me excited about the character.
I really hope the show leans more towards fallout 1 n 2. At least In future seasons of not this one. The vibe of those was just so good.
No, we do NOT want Perlman, the LESS we see (or hear) from him, the better! Get woke, go broke!
They HAVE TO use Ron Perlman in this - namely his famous introduction we all know and love.
I still think the great war was started by vault-tec think about it
It would make sense for Vault-Tec to convince people there will definitely be a war, but it wouldn't make sense for them to start it. Can't really sell or build new Vaults once the bombs actually start dropping.
They have been hinting at that for over two decades. The opening dialogue in this trailer, he says, "The world is going to nuke you, to create a better tomorrow." Play it back...he doesn't say need...at all. He says nuke. Maybe that is a tongue in cheek tease that Vault-tec rigged the war.
Haven't even watched the video but... OMG does this mean Pete Peppers is gonna be covering this series when it launches??? If so, my body is SOOOO ready hahaha!! 😅
The character's name is Cooper Howard, but the actor's name is Walton Goggins Pete!
That threw me for a loop at first two, but he does correctly identify Walton Goggins later in the video, so I think what he meant here was that the character he plays is himself an actor. Kinda strangely worded though.
The character Walton Goggins plays was an actor in pre-war America. I think that's what he meant.
Gary…Gary…Gary!
Yea?
@@MrGarycharters :D
Do you think, "there's always someone behind the wheel" could refer to Mr. House? I feel like they will have to address who won the Hoover Dam.
Never even saw a trailer for this show, so it was with much pleasure that I gave it a chance. I have only heard of the game and don’t know much about it. I’m sure game fanatics will have their gripes but for a Fallout novice this show tickled all the right areas of my brain. Creative, intriguing, Walter Gaggins and a multi character story. Thanks Pete for another great breakdown. You are my go to channel for great entertainment breakdowns.
Very much looking forward to watching this. I’m a massive fan of the games, started playing the series with Fallout 3. The production value and characters look brilliant, and it looks faithful to the games
I appreciate that you're playing Fallout 76. Glad you're covering this series.
it's Walton Goggins, not whoever you said is in the introduction. Fire in the Hole!
lol That is the name of his character in the show. Before the war, he was an actor and his name was Cooper Howard
I guess I called him Walter based on another comment.
Your linguistical architecture captured my attention and appreciation.
Awesome video thanks for explaining
I’m going to binge the absolute sh!t out of this series
Thank you so much for this video
Pete, I've been enjoying your videos since the twin peaks revival. Great to see you also enjoy this awesome game franchise. Good day to you, sir!
Walter Goggins. Really. Its WALTON
Shogun a good show id like you do. It's very good
The dead dwellers in the traler reminds me of vault 51 if you know you know
Walton Goggins is a national treasure.
I’m a geezer. Wasted time on Starcraft (1st version). Never heard of this. Looks interesting.
Start with Fallout 3 or New Vegas
Can’t wait to see Fallout and I hope that it is a strong showing! On another note, I am really sad that David S. Goyer is stepping down from his current duties with Foundation. I hope that in his Executive Producer position is still involved in the story and not the atypical accounting, legal and budgetary roles. I understand the concerns Apple Studios has with a bloated/skyrocketing budget, but would hate to lose another amazing show that is highly rated, to money concerns! 😔 What have you heard if anything? Love your content!! 🤙🏻
Yes to Ghoulgins!
I have only played the little game Fallout Shelter but for many hours so I have meet many protagonists and I think I will love the show. And I guess it will have a huge success with Tesla owners, especially early owners since Fallout Shelter is among the first games available in the cars.
can-t wait to see the wild stuff fallout has like Ug-qualtoth, dunwich, aliens, tunnelers, etc
I never played the game but remember seeing the title thinking that sounds cool i think i will look this up when it comes on
I'm worried with how they are gonna treat the west cost lore. Considering Shanty towns and super destroyed places are not really thing there considering how much was already rebuilt and how life moved on.
The NCR was rebuilding but there was drift into still poor regions and destroyed ruins dude.
@@baneofbanes but isn't the boneyard and that area supposed to be post post apocalypse? Either way I don't really mind as long as they have an explanation.
@@dillydraws we live king after the fall of the Roman elite and there’s still Roman ruins, including entire cities all over the place and we’re two thousand years past that. On top of that California has a far smaller population in the fallout world.
@@baneofbanesShady sands is the capital of the NCR and a rebuilt large city, its not going to be a ruin of old like they show in the trailer.
@@FearOgre yah I’m well aware of shady sands, that doesn’t change anything I said dim wit.
isn't it a little funny that that movie is coming out now, when all hell is loose in the world right now😉 love Fallout
I'd like this to be released 1 episode per week. Works better for me, I can stay a few days with what I saw and think about it, watch video like the ones you make etc.
I think the cast looks great.
agreed
First time viewer here, and trying not to be rude but here goes. Fun video, but as a "trailer breakdown" i would say a lot is left to be desired. You spent much more time on the lore of the games and world than the actual trailer. Good start though.
"Walton Goggins plays the bridge between the world's" if Prime's Avatar is better than Netflix's, they'll never live it down
this show seems like it will be a banger! (i hope) so far from the 2 trailers weve gotten its living up to the hype. and hearing that the show runners are fans of the games them selves is very reaasuring. heres hoping!!!!
I wanna box of fkn Sugar Bombs..😅
Im just glad the showrunner is an actual fan (why wouldnt he be though, right??) And you can 100% tell from the trailer!! I really cant wait to check it out!! Im psyched!!😁😁🤘🤘
The NCR is over! The courier nuking them is cannon (lonesome road DLC), as indicated by shady sands being in ruins.
Lonesome road DLC only has nukes hitting NCR targets on the Long 15, not shady sands or anything else around it.
I’m pretty sure they want to make it so the show doesn’t mention any of the endings to the fallout games or contradict them
Why does the show Silo keep popping into my mind 😮
Looks interesting.
Was Dogmeat a synth?
I'm very much pver 8-12 episode seasons dropped straight away
If each episode is 1h20+ sure 8-12 eps is fine, but they're very rarely that
I will say this is an understandably expensive series to make so less episodes kinda make sense, but it's ruined tv having short seasons imo
All i want to see is super mutants and deathclaws
I feel like we wont see either one this first season mostly just people
This is one of the few RPGs I haven't played for some reason but I like what I'm seeing.
Start with 3 or New Vegas
Forget the other guy, Fallout 4 is awesome, although there's more of the lore in the early games, 3 and New Vegas haven't aged well graphically, and some people love the complexities of character creation, but the overall gameplay is far better in 4, easier and less painful.
@@aldunlop4622a good RPG isn’t about graphics it’s about the story and that’s the main thing fallout 4 lacks a good story I started with new vegas then played 4 and 3 then dabbled in the turn based games 1 & 2 for me New Vegas was the best experience and introduction to the fallout series with great amounts of lore and I loved fallout 3 if I were him I’d start with 3 or New vegas not fallout 4
Well I didn't say it was, but I didn't buy an expensive graphics card to watch sub-standard graphics. I played 4 first and I love it, one of my favourite games of all time. Many people said I should try NV, so I got it and didn't like it much at all, I didn't get very far. I didn't like the gameplay, modding weapons and armour was clunky compared to 4 which is great. I didn't like the NPC interactions, with them weirdly face on to you, and endless menu options that were pretty boring. I remember saying out loud "just get to the point ffs". I'm glad you like it, we're all different, I just felt Fallout 4 felt like a better game to play. One of these days I'll force myself to play through it again though. TBH I'm more interested in Fallout 3 because it happens in the Capital compared to the Mojave Desert which I'm not that interested in, I guess if I was American and into cowboys etc I'd like it more. Finally, and this will make your blood boil I'm sure, but I LOVE the voiced protagonist in 4, I just think it really adds to the immersion, being a mute doesn't really appeal to me.@@jcrossan1351
@@aldunlop4622 it doesn’t make my blood boil mate don’t worry everyone had their own taste in fallout games and games in general for that matter I see the appeal of fallout 4 as it is an easier game to get into i certainly have many hours invested into fallout 4 as a Brit the mojave desert was such an interesting location for me not many deserts on the UK lmao everyone’s different for me graphics aren’t my main concern well as long as they’re from the Xbox 360/PS3 level to modern graphics if you understand me I have many hours in fallout 3 the location is nice but isn’t as open as New Vegas with many of the roads in fallout 3 being blocked by rubble resorting to the use of the subway system in that game everyone’s entitled to their own opinion on the games for me if I were the OP who hasn’t played fallout before I would start with New Vegas as that’s where I started whilst the graphics aren’t up to modern standards and some of the gameplay is clunky the story and setting of the game as well as the dialogue and cast of characters make up for any graphical and gameplay issues that as well as the fact New Vegas has proper dlc unlike fallout 4 allowing to explore even more of the fallout world. One thing I give fallout 4 credit for however is the settlement system it was great being able to build across the map the only negative from that is that it left the world in some places feeling empty due to the sheer amount of settlements that we the player had to build ourselves. Overall I have played an enjoyed both games but from a story standpoint as well as lore accuracy and depiction if I were the OP I would chose New Vegas as my gateway into the fallout franchise.
Cooper Howard? That name doesn't show up on IMDB but Walton Goggins does
That's the name of Walton's character in the show.
Don't play computer games. Never have, never will. I've never heard of this game... but am intrigued by the set-up. Will watch.
😮 I was given a copy of Fallout: New Vegas, and I was hooked!! Love this franchise, hope you enjoy the show.
mm me thinks that the fallout tv show my have something to do with fallout 5 but not the story for it if there going to be one for fallout 5 we all no all fallout game have a story to tell us
Walton, not Walter
Walton Goggins...not walter
To bad Todd is involved, means the lore is going to get junked up even more.
Walton Goggins. _Walton_ Goggins. *Walton* Goggins. WALTON Goggins. _WALTON._
_Not_ Walter. Walton, OK?
Ok, calm down.
I doubt the show is any good, no way Amazon releases it all at once if he´s any good, especially because it was probably a very expensive series.
It's Walther goggins not cooper howard
Walton Goggins plays the character Cooper Howard on the show.
One other thing : fallout main appeal to me his exploring the lore and being in charge of my own survival. Those things seldom transfer into a passive watching that must appeal to the general public.
Toddslop
This whole video is one long string of words that doesn't at all help breakdown the trailer. Whew. Had to shut that babble off.
Fallout 1 n 2 are still the best!
Dang, youd think a lore expert would be the one to break this down?
Something tells me that this series is going to be just as buggy as the game.
Well I'm a massive fan of the games and regularly play as a female character I have some doubts about that in live action. The world of Fallout is fucking ruthless and brutal, and I suspect she's going to need a lot of plot armour to survive. The visuals look great though and Goggins looks perfect as a ghoul. I really hope it's good, but Amazon doesn't have the best track record lately. The Expanse and The Boys are awesome, but Rings of Power and The Wheel of time are both awful, so we'll see. The trailer certainly looks "Inclusive" so I hope it doesn't beat us over the head with Woke bullshit, I just want a good show.
You think a dude has anymore of a fucking chance to survive against death claws and super mutants than a woman?
You people are pathetic.
If you played Fallout you would know that the entire series is "Inclusive" The creator of Fallout is literally a gay man with the entire series being full of anti-capitalist messaging.
@@dillydraws Can you redo that with some actual facts, I have no idea what you’re rambling about.
@@aldunlop4622 Tim Cain the creator of Fallout 1 and 2 was gay. Every entry in the series includes inclusive set of characters let alone the character you make yourself. And for anti-capitalist messaging just look at NV and the commentary of the NCR and it's capitalist nature.
@@dillydraws Well honestly I don’t care about what people do in their personal lives. The creator being gay means literally nothing to me. I’ve played 3, NV and 4, and they all have people from various backgrounds, none of which is important to the story or the game. I’m a male and I can hookup with Hancock? Who cares, it’s irrelevant to the game. The game is not ABOUT me being gay (if that’s how I choose to play). I don’t really see what capitalism has to do with inclusion, but I guess it means something to you that I couldn’t care less about.
Looks like it’s written by a team of “consultants”
You should be embarassed about playing ANY amount of 76. That game is hot garbage.
I don't share the positive thoughts about this. We don't know anything about the story,, the tone seems off and the writers track record doesn't inspire confidence.
Many showrunners are just lying when presenting themselves as fans...anyway I'd like to be wrong but we seem to be heading towards a wishy washy fallout 4 story.
I hope this doesn't turn out to be another franchise ruining pile of garbage, produced by the Woketardian Dystopians... If they make the vault dweller some kind of Mary Sue that defeats Super mutants and Brotherhood of Steel Paladins with not much more than her bare fists and an edgy attitude, I hope it fails and costs them Millions upon millions in losses.
Yes please ignore how a vault dweller in Fallout 2 (who can be either male or female) was literally called THE CHOSEN ONE. Or how a postman or woman brought 4 of the biggest factions to their knees in New vegas.
Have you ever played a fallout game?
@@baneofbanes Since before you could walk, sport.
@@dillydraws Blah.. Blah.. Blah...
Talking about the Woketardian Garbage fires that have been popping up in franchises lately..
Don't think you're going to sit there and lecture me on Fallout and what characters are able to be played.
"(Can be either one)" ... No $h!t Sherlock.
But unlikable, uppity attitude, Female, Mary Sue leads that are not allowed to be questioned or ultimately challenged by any real threat are BORING.
There is no achievement without struggle.
My original statement stands..
Everything woke is crap in cinema and Hollywood has been taking a hit for their misguided pandering to those that are NOT the vast majority of their customer base.
Business 101 got skipped the last few years and the numbers don't lie...
Rings of Power = Fail, Indian Jones and the Pile of Destiny = fail, etc etc etc etc..
Waddle off somewhere and argue semantics with someone that might buy into your BS.
Thanks bunches and have a swell day.!! 😀
@@Eric_Von_Yesselstyn funny how you ignored Barble
A woman as the lead character? Won't be watching that🤔
Guessing you’re not a fan of alien then
Literally every fallout game lets you be a woman.
