@@AlexMakovsky the very first game you see is called Alzara: Radiant Echoes. It's an upcoming indie JRPG. If you want to know more about it you can check out my video I made a couple of months ago ua-cam.com/video/BvzbAdaOAUg/v-deo.html
That's a really nice list but not including game titles in the description or timestamps feels counterintuitive. There are better ways to make people watch the whole thing without skipping parts of the video.
You know what? I thought about this a lot for my last videos and I'm still testing things out. Look at the timestamps again, I changed them. 😉 Thanks for the feedback.
Another EXTREMELY underrated Indie game is Allogloom, if you enjoyed Fran bow and Little Misfortune then you’ll like Allogloom. Only the demo is out now on steam but the creator is very underrated and I’m pretty excited to see it come out entirely.
I've had Constance, Beyond Galaxyland, and AWAKEN - Astral Blade on my radar for a while. All three of them of their demos blew me away, and Astral Blade and Constance still have theirs on their Steam pages. The Anima Flux demo, on the other hand, let me down, and I must be the only person on Earth who did not enjoy CrossCode. I may still get into Alabaster Dawn, but I will have to wait on reviews and hope it tones the puzzles way, way down.
My recommendation is not a new game but a hidden gem called phoenotopia awakening. It isn't just a great game..... it's a masterpiece. It's the same kind of masterpiece as chrono trigger trigger with a massive world full of mystery and secrets and world building. Fishing, cooking, the towns are so big and theres so much to do I've put in 50 hours and I'm only a bit over halfway done. You don't have to take that long but theres just massive amounts of extra stuff to do if you want. Anybody that hasn't heard of it should check it out if you like zelda and metroidvanias.
Yeeees! This OST is so good. The composer Lifeformed made the OST for Tunic, too which not only is one of my favorite games of all time but also one of the best OSTs in gaming. Absolutely fantastic stuff.
Constance was already on my Wishlist and I just downloaded the demo. Otherwise I'm looking forward to Never Grave, Symbio, and Neva the most of the games on my wishlist. I didn't add more stuff because there's no point in adding more (precision) platformers if I already have a bunch I only played demos of or only just started (Ender Lilies) or are just sitting there waiting to be played. I'd rather give a fair shot to the games I already have first. I'm waiting for the moment where I feel like I can sink hours into Animal Well without felling like I need to play something else I started earlier, for example.
What's the music that starts at the Alabaster Dawn segment from? I recognize it and am pretty sure I played whatever game it's from, but I can't remember what it is! 😖
Dude ı was watching through and parcel delivering reminded me dustforce for some reason being similar in a sense doing a minial task while platforming then you hit me with the dustforce ost 😂. Btw anyone reading this go play dustforce, such pity that game is this underrated.
Yeees! Dustforce is great. I haven't finished it yet, but now that I own a Steam Deck it's the perfect time to go back to it. Also the OST is incredible!
In order of appearence: Alzara Radiant Echoes, Neva, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Mio: Memories in Orbit, Eternal Strands. All of them are upcoming games that I featured on my channel already.
Game devs need to get better at naming their titles. Soul Blade? Sounds like a game a angsty teen plays in a movie. Alabaster Dawn sounds like something you put in a JRPG name generator you found on Google. I know it's not a big deal but still kinda irksome.
Hahaha I get that. As a non-native speaker I don't think about the names of games but with Soulblade especially I thought the name is kinda stupid. Especially considering Soul Blade was the first game in the Soul Calibur series. Not the best choice for a name
What games are you thinking of from the old times? Back in my day every character looked like a cartoon like crash, Spyro, sly cooper, mario, jack and daxter, and ratchet and clank. Also I’m in my late twenties and I know a bunch of people my age that like anime so idk what you mean by anime style excluding adults lol Yeah there was dope gorey games like mortal kombat and the old school sports games are dope but they still make all that now.
@@SugeryGold I think of especially the darker themed games. Yes, they may have had a comic look too, but it wasn't cute graphics and many games weren't child themed. Playing a game like Phantasmagoria, Myst, Divine Divinity, Call Of Cthulu: Shadow Of The Comet or so could give you nightmares. You can't compare nowadays childish-must-be-for-everyone style with that old beloved gloomy styles from yesterday sadly. But i know that there are at least some good attempts on that like the little pearl Death Trash.
@@suoquainen I’ve never played those games but they all look awesome! The closest game to that style I played was Another World and I did really enjoy it. I still disagree with the statement that games not made in that style were made to exclude adults but I definitely understand why you would be upset if those are your favorite kind because there has been a serious lack of them in recent times!

Awww no shoot em ups(shmups and not doom-like or call of duty-like). Recent games dont bother releasing genres that I am not into. Kinda sad on my part but atleast they get what they want.
I understand that. For me, there aren't enough Metroidvanias yet. Will they all be masterpieces? Certainly not. But I think you could make the same argument about any genre.
@@feiitogamingAgreed. Has there been a lot coming out in recent years? Yup. But it’s also been pretty easy to spot the ones that appeal to you and skip the rest imo.
Yeah that's frustrating sometimes but it also makes a lot of sense since it's easiest to get your game on Steam compared to Playstation or Xbox. With oftentimes limited financial ressources it's the best decision to release a game on PC only... Sadly.
I disagree. I like having more female Protagonists in games. Also the most important aspect of a character is how well written they are. Gender doesn't matter when it comes to that.
female protagonists or characters are bad when theyre bad characters.. just as black or lgbtq characters are bad if their only personality is being that, if its a well written character its amazing
What's your upcoming indie game recommendation?
Nice work dude. I would like to recommend Bloodless. The art is Sick and gameplay is a new refreshing soulslike.

Except the controls are quite bad. Even passing the tutorial is a challenge in itself because of how weird the controls are.
Take a shot for every 2D scroller, be it metroidvania or not. Haruka and 8-bit Adventures caught my eye tho

The devs said that Alabaster Dawn will have way less puzzles than CrossCode. So if that's something you didn't like in CC maybe you'll enjoy AD more.
