This show was funny and clever, having Allen and Betty together was such a treat. Match Game really was lightning in a bottle, there will never be another show like it.
So glad this show was preserved for the ages!! Really enjoying this show! Love the '70s nostalgia with it as well! Bet they never thought we would be loving it in 2021~
I'm sure they are. They really loved eachother. She made it clear after 2 other marriages Allen Luden was the love of her life. I'm 💯% Positive they are Enjoying Eternity Together.💕✨🙏.🦋🌠💐. Love, respect and positivity always. Neita,Ace and family. 🤗🥰✌🖖🙂👋.
RIP Betty, we love you so much, I'm a child of the 70s and game shows have a special place in my heart. Bonus - the skinny microphones, omg, I live!!!!
This just proves that the regulars (and guest stars) on this show really did enjoy what they were doing. Nowadays celebrities join these type of shows when they haven’t had a real job in a while but these guys show that they really enjoyed their job and had a lot of fun doing it
I agree. I'm a new comer but I'm enjoying these Episodes. They did seem to have a good time teasing eachother. I love seeing Allen and Betty on here together. Love, respect and positivity always. ✌🖖🌻❤🕯. Neita.
End-of-week H/H match recap: ... This week we had 5 H/H matches total, 4 of which were successful: Brett 1/2, Richard 3/3 Sadly, Betty wasn't chosen this week... And since this week has become a tribute of sorts to Betty White, here's a brief recap of her illustrious Match Game '7x career: The show lasted 291 weeks, and Betty appeared in 75 of them! Her first appearance was in 1973 (episodes 11-15) and her final week was in 1979 (#1421-1425). She always sat in the sixth chair. (Note: These numbers take into account MG '7x only, without considering other iterations of the show such as pilots, earlier versions, PM or syndicated.) This also marks Allen Ludden's third and final week on MG '7x. He had been selected for the H/H 3 times and scored 1 match. (But Allen does return to the weekly Match Game PM in 1980, sitting next to his wife. The lineup that week was: Jimmie Walker, Brett Somers, Charles Nelson Reilly, Jonelle Allen, Allen Ludden, Betty White.) Here's the updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: Orson Bean - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts). Gary Burghoff - 83.3% (5 wins in 6 attempts). TIE: Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). Fannie - 50% (9 wins in 18 attempts). Betty - 48.4% (15 wins in 31 attempts). Charles - 47.4% (18 wins in 38 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Brett - 37.8% (17 wins in 45 attempts). Richard - 37.5% (105 wins in 280 attempts). Bert - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 520, excluding the lost/missing episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!")
"Brett is wearing the same outfit she wore Thursday." - Betty lol It made me laugh when Charles wrote "F.S.N.T.B.W.G.B.A." The best part of my day is Brett doing the belly dance, and Betty at 14:25 lol!
Truck Taxi I just recently found out that all the reports of Betty's death were untrue. Thank the Lord for that! People who think posting these "death hoaxes" are fun, are cruel and need help! 😞 🙏
I remember Allen well, I used to watch Password. It was sad when he passed away, but Betty survived pretty well. I watched Match Game as a kid and teen, but it was a slightly more adult show, so I didn't get really into it until a few years ago when a friend got Game Show network and I realized how really funny the show was. I came close to seeing a live show the first time I was in LA, but I was too young at the time, but I still have the tickets. It was filmed at CBS where Price is Right is filmed. I saw a game show called Tic Tac Dough, which was fun.
I love Brett. She could laugh at herself. She was a dear and she always truly wanted the players to win. Some you could tell did not give two hoots! And she was a good player!
@@garfield2439 Yup. Allen's voice quite clearly. He made both comments. I think some people got thrown off because the camera shifted to Charles for his (lack of) reaction.
Excluding the host, despite the presence of six celebrities on stage, it is impressive that they joke only when necessary. They know how to care for each other and make a broadcast together! The belly dancing scene was fantastic.

At show # 520, she had already won $14650.00. Even with the inflation of President Ford (1975), that was good money back then. Not so good with the inflation of 2022.
They had the most fun on this show. Its in reruns but way before my time. I never saw it. But its great! Richard dawson is a cute perv lmao kissed all the girls
I watched the next episode and the blonde contestant looks much different. I wonder if this one was the last before they started a summer break. Patti Deutsch is on the next one and she has had her baby (which was due in June. ) I'm guessing if they were about to go on break they didn't quite have a plan set up for the future date,
I think both. I've also noticed over time that no matter who's in the first seat, they more frequently ask to have a question repeated than panelists in any other seat. Maybe just poor acoustics there.
Everyone on the MG panel had a show biz background of some sort of other. I wonder where Brett Somers came from. I know she came from Maine, but other than that...........??

I'm sorry it took so long for me to post a Betty/Allen episode. I couldn't believe this episode wasn't posted yet!
Thank you
I am watching this after Betty White's death. They are saying her last word was "Allen".

10:44 is my favorite part, especially when Allen Ludden walks down in mock rage because he's Betty White's husband.
there's gonna be a meeting!!.......
Powerranger6342 The Password is beatdown.
I'd pay money for that... "Gene Rayburn vs. Allen Ludden! Ladies and gentlemen... Let's get ready to rumble!!!"
riseup88 Allen vs gene winners prize is betty
Allen's card said "Hi Doll", which what he called Betty's mom. He used to say it at the start of Password.
