VWJawbreaker oh I think it will come up very shortly. I cannot wait to see how you feel about this engine size. Because I know you’re very straight up about stuff.
Slades VW Beetle waiting on some jets and a crank case breather before I can do much more. But yes, I’m very honest and I’m hoping this will be everything that I hoped it would.
+Grant Coleman i appreciate the support and encouragement. The fact someone gets info from a video is a win in my book. Hope you have a great rest of the week!
Great Job on the Engine Assembly. Looking forward to seeing and hearing it run. I’m sure it’s going to Bolt You down the road. We’ll catch you soon and looking forward to it. Thanks again for sharing your update and talents, and have a great week my friend. BigW:-)
Big W Adventures thank you buddy as always. This one once dialed in should be tons of power and fun to drive without bearing things to death. Should get decent longevity out of it. Hope you both are doing well and have a fantastic week my friend.
6:01 I personally rather put the sharp side of the wrist pin keeper looking out, I think that the sharp edge helps to cling on the groove of the piston and keep it tight… saludos.
Actually, I have done that on automatic transmissions, those little clips stayed in place when you put them whit the sharp edges pointing out… saludos desde México!
Volkswagenplanet honestly this one kicked my butt.... not much is stock so everything is requiring so much figment. I need to catch up on your videos soon. Happy Holidays to you both and stay safe!
VW RICH FLAT4 it surprisingly doesn’t run as rough as I thought. Played around with exhaust mufflers and found one that sounds pretty good I think. Definitely sounds better off camera 😂
@@VWJawbreaker i was wondering about something.. My car is a 76.. Should be a dished cam (haven't checked).. Can you just switch to a flat cam by going with the flat cam oil pump and should it all just bolt up correctly?
VW RICH FLAT4 assuming you’re cam is the original to that engine case and that engine is definitely a 1971 and later with the 4 rivet dish cam gear, yes it is just a matter of swapping the cam and using the correct oil pump.
Mileage Unknown I appreciate it buddy, the ride along should be coming out soon. Finally got things dialed in better and some issues worked out. It’s always something 😂
Nice build. But one thing you mentioned about the keepers the sharp side should be away from the pins, sharp side out. Taking that from The Berg book of instructions. He states incorrect installation could possibly allow the keeper to walk out.
I’m a bit of a newbie when it comes to buger motors do you need a new crank and rods and a different case to make a 1915 or can it be done with a standard as41 case crank and rods sorry for the silly question just seeing what I need
We all were new at one point and none of us know it all! For a 1915 you can use the stock rods and crank, you’ll need the stock case machines for the 94mm cylinders.
+B A Man I don’t use anything on the push rod seals. I know some people do but I’ve never had a problem. I ensure the case is clean and oil free and lightly line the seals so they sit correctly.... it’s always worked for me.
Ok, you said you liked some type better than the stock air deflector tins. What are They?... and why do you prefer them? Thanks for recording and explaining all your work and experience. Good luck!
Second Looks For Men I used the stock air deflectors in this engine. The type 3 or as others call them, cool tins work well also. On this engine with the 94mm cylinders, I opted not to use the type 3 cool tins since it requires quite a bit of trimming to get them to fit right. Just my opinions is all.
Had an issue with the case after a little bit. Ended up getting a new case and a 74mm crank to build a 2054cc. Used the same everything else, haven’t had a single issue since.
@@VWJawbreaker looking forward to seeing some vid on that. i was wondering how many people saw the text in the vid and actually answered the question. seems a few must have seen the text.
hi Gary this is Gary . I built a 1915 for my www.mypuma.bizhosting.com and plan on stroking it . stock crank cant take the rpm . and in the past I built a baja bug too . there both in my web site .love the air cools too.
🔥is right. Looking good. Jawbreaker will be on the road in no time.
2 Guys and a Bug things are progressing quite well. A few hiccups here and there but nothing that can’t be worked out.
Good catch VWJawbreaker, I would totally forget that. And to pack a toothbrush.
Thanks for the build update, can't wait to hear this thing run!
Haptic Garage thank you buddy. There has been some hiccups along the way but she’s turning out to be a good build.
@@VWJawbreaker Yeah man, there's something really cool about seeing a pile of good parts turn into a long block!
Haptic Garage can’t disagree with that! Also true for any project seeing the pile of parts getting smaller.
Hope you have a great Sunday!
Dude... Jawbreaker is going to move more than the mail!!
Keep up the great work!!
VeeDub P8 she should scoot down the road once I get the carbs dialed in! Jetting can be a pain in the rear!
You make it look easy! No blooper reel for you! Have a great day!
Jim Lester wish the no blooper part was correct 😂
I think he makes it look super easy! Has me tempted 2 pull apart some of mine!!!
Mileage Unknown do it man, it’s the best way to learn! There’s plenty of support to help you along.
Sweet video!!! And no shims!!! This motor is going to be outstanding!!! I can’t wait to see jawbreaker rolling with it down the road!!!

@@VWJawbreaker Gary, what kind of sealer do you use on the washers on the heads? And what tins did you use on the bottom?
Slades VW Beetle either ultra black silicone or the last few builds I’ve been using the aviation permitex with good results.
Hell yeah!!! Looking awesome I can't wait to hear it
Jonathan Hicks thank you, should be running in no time now.
Another great video Jaws👍. I can't wait to see this motor in the car , don't forget a few drive byes for us :).
5150mxVW I’ll definitely try to remember to do some drive by shots! It’s slowly coming together.....
I can't tell you how much I appreciate the way you explain the processes on these videos. Thank you!

Looking good Gary, that will be one strong motor..When your assemblying and making a how to video it is easy to forget them tins.
Busman 54 it is easier for me to just do vs try to record and do, that’s for sure!
Awesome video brother! What type silicone did you use around the jugs? This one is going to scream!
CT it should definitely scream. I use the ultra black silicone for the jugs.

Mileage Unknown I mid recorded so many times towards the end. I focus so much on what I’m doing that I forget to record or hit the record button. 🤷♂️
Did you put any sealant between jug and case?
Always.
Nice build. But one thing you mentioned about the keepers the sharp side should be away from the pins, sharp side out. Taking that from The Berg book of instructions. He states incorrect installation could possibly allow the keeper to walk out.
Rob Sannes are you referring to the valve keepers or the head washers for the head bolts?
The piston pin keepers the internal snap rings is what I was referring to.
Rob Sannes ah yes, you might be right. I’ll double check that for future reference. Thanks!

Nice video, how'd you figure that compression ratio ?
Thank you.
Static compression is deck height and head combustion chamber cc’s. I cover that in other videos as well.
What you left off were your small air deflector plates

What heads you run and where did you get them?
Those are the CB 044 CNC Ultra Mag heads 42 x 37.5 with dual valve springs from CB Performance
👍
Thanks man.
Which hot rod VW engine book would you recommend ? Great videos by the way ,
Probably any of them honestly, they all have some good info.
Thanks, I appreciate it 🤙
any overheating probles?
Had an issue with the case after a little bit. Ended up getting a new case and a 74mm crank to build a 2054cc. Used the same everything else, haven’t had a single issue since.
No sealer under the liners?
Not for mock up purposes but definitely on final assembly.
What sizes of stud should be used 8 mm or 10mm
Depends on what you’re doing. Most situations, 8mm with case savers is plenty.
air deflectors
Scotty C I ended up pulling the cool rims off and putting stock air deflectors on. I then trimmed the sled tins to fit with the merged exhaust.

What is the difference between 1.2 vs 1.4 vs 1.5

Center tin
