Seeing them prize figures I own go for hundreds is insane! Hopefully people that get into the hobby learn the pricing of figures, but in the end we put value in things.
I have a online anime store and these prices are wild, I sell both original and generic figures to fit everyone’s budget as I ship to Mexico and South America but even then generics should typically be 25-30% of the original.
Frank and sons is literally like a con's exhibition hall but for people who dont know the price of a lot of those things lol. I was there last week and go often w my friends but they always mark up figures by waaaay too much. I buy little small stuff everytime i go but yeah prize figures should not be that much
Frank and sons used to be fun 10ish years ago. You would see some variety in prices and merch. Now all the seller just goes on their phone and marks up quite a damn lot based on result. Why the hell anyone goes there to buy things is beyond me. Just buy online.
its crazy that miku bunny from the BiCute line is $100 when the line is specifically made to be cheaper than other bunnies. EASILY finable for $20-25. the trade off for being able to see them in person instead of a pic should not warrant a 75% uncharge
What is a price gouge is the rent there , it’s really high and unfortunately people had to raise there price. Half of time you have people that go there don’t buy anything and waste parking space . You do find deals every once in a while, you can even speak with the guys there , depends how well you get to know them they can hook you up .
the vendor with the $475 Klee is by far the worst vendor there and THE MOST SHOCKING part is that they have expanded... which makes me think who tf is giving them profits to expand. Boba rally is another vendor that I question how they expand. They resell Aliexpress items at quadruple the price.
Those prices.....ouch......I went to a mini convention near where I live and saw some figures in boxes....the boxes looked legit and they were asking about £40 for them. I asked to see the statue....it was from Demon Slayer. It was a fake in what looked like a real box. I made a quick exit!
I had a friend hype Frank and Sons for me and when I got there my reaction was basically the same.. the anime store outside was waaay better priced. I was super excited since I hadn't been to anime stores in LA since 15yrs ago lol I wanted to go to Jungle since I hadn't visited since that last time years ago and my friend didn't recommend it due to the line outside(?) Regret going here instead of there, especially seeing how it went from a single small store to a whole downstairs floor! :'c There was also a bookoff inside a mall that was nice though! Still pricier than hunting on Manda or y!Auctions, but better than the bookoff near me. Sad reality is that in general finding items online and using a proxy will always better, still nice to have options in case of a grail though! I did find a Sailor Moon manga that tends to be 40ish usd online for 8usd in BookOff.
Ngl if this was past me I wouldn't have thought much on it besides that the figures were expensive, and if there was a character that I really wanted I may have dropped the $$$ for it. I'm so thankful for mfc and all figure collectors who has directed new folks to the website. I am no where near Cali but thanks for the video 😂
We have figures here in online stores which cost as much or even more if you would just order it from japan and pay the freakin 27% tax on it every Fin time, But somehow this manages to be more criminal lol. This is just sad. Also I hate when people use the "statue" word for figures, am I the only one with this? Its not about the meaning of the word, just that, statues for me are huge and massive resin statues that weight like 5kgs and hella expensive.
Those harsh green stickers on the boxes... Ugh those are such bastards to get off and listing the Love is War statue for 500$??? My brother in christ, it's rare but I'd say it's like 300... I hope we get more folks realize prize figures can even be bought for like... 20$ ... $25. Gawly... $100 is insane.

that’s true, as long as people are happy i can’t really complain

Like with any hobby, it’s always good to do your own research to try to avoid mistakes.
Reddit, MFC, and/or other forums are good resources.
yeah, hopefully more people do that before buying!
