Sad to hear that Pacific Explorer is not going to Ambassador. The range of their cruises now seems very restricted by two ships almost exclusively sailing around northern Europe and down the Iberian Peninsula.
I love Pacific Explorer! It was the first cruise ship that I went on early last year and just got off it a few days ago on the 19/12 for my final cruise on this wonderful ship and the P&O Cruises brand. My final cruise on Pacific Explorer was the final P&O cruise out of Adelaide and I love that it was a surprise that I was going on it. Only found out when I got on the ship that it was its last cruise from Adelaide. I will miss P&O Cruises Australia with all the memories made onboard on my only two ever cruise’s. 😢😢😢
oh wow you was on the first cruise after the shut down too. we was on that cruise, it was our very first ever cruise that we had done, sp the pacific explorer holds a special place in our hearts. we just did an 80s cruise on her from melbourne last month. so a nice good bye to her
Thanks for the update. I sailed on the sister ship Oceana with P&O UK and always liked the ship design. I too think it would make a great addition to Ambassador. Lets hope they purchase Oceana which I think is still up for sale.
She’s a lovely ship with a very friendly feel, so I’m very pleased she will continue to sail, even though she will no longer be a P&O ship. Thanks for this welcome update Chris
The Dawn Princess was the ship for our very first cruise back in 2004. It was our honeymoon and I will always have a place in my heart for this ship. I will continue to try to keep up with her.
Nice looking ship, years of life in her yet. My son recently did a cruise on the Ventura and was very disappointed, he descibed the ship as looking 'tired'. Also the waiters were quite rude with a 'couldn't care less' attitude. My son is a regular cruiser with P&O but certainly won't be going back on the Ventura. I believe he is going Cunard on his next cruise. We are in the UK.
Sad to see the the Pacific Explorer leaving PO , but it is great to see she has a new carrier to keep her in service, hope she continues for a few more years to come! And thanks Chris for keeping us updated on current news with you're You Tube Channel! Big Thumbs up 👍👍👍
We're sailing on her this coming January from Melbourne to Perth, and then up to Exmouth and back to Perth.. I'm not sure, it the Exmouth cruise might be her last under the P&O brand.
Great video, I’m not familiar with resorts world. Who does resorts world cater to, the demographic that sails on board resort world is predominantly from what part of the world?
So sad to see her leave p&o and carnival family. The pacific explorer was the very first ship I cruised on 😢 enjoyed several cruises 🚢 n her over the years 😢
I wanted to the ship to sale for ambassador cruises, I expected the ship to be sold to Cordelia cruises. It is a bit of a shock that she isn’t Cordelia’s new ship, im sure she will smash her new role unlike her sister ship ocean princess(better known as Oceana/Queen of the oceans) which is still laid up!
The problem with older ship is that it has low capacity. Big cruise operators cannot operate with profit. And older generation ship tended to be more inside and window staterooms than balcony staterooms. I know many people who will not cruise if there is no balcony stateroom available. However, this ship is good for any company or business venture that has business model for niche cruise itinerary.
I have heard that it was sold to chinese philipino business person and will be converted to casino based in manila .... I know there is a resort world in Manila thats a hotel /casino
Would you cruise on this ship in her new life?
Yes for sure!
❤
Definitely just so I can enjoy the ship that hooked me onto cruises

I think they should walk before they should run, there’s still plenty of opportunities for a third ship 😊

Really liked this ship when we recently did a short cruise to Kimberley region

A great ship really glad she has another lease of life with another carrier. She will be missed!
You been o it??
@ sure have great ship!!!
This ship has been a frequent visitor here in Cairns,FNQ.Have watched it depart from port many times.End of an era.!.
Just glad she is not getting the chop, was a great ship to cruise on just like we did on her Sister's Sea and Sun.
She’s a lovely ship with a very friendly feel, so I’m very pleased she will continue to sail, even though she will no longer be a P&O ship. Thanks for this welcome update Chris
It will be interesting to see what the new owners do with her!

Surprising Ambassador didn't pick this up
Ambassador was definitely my pick for where she'd end up!
I was told she was sold to Singapore to be a Floating Casino

I've been on her five times. Loved it.

This is great news !
Star 4.0.
Will be sad to see her go
What a shame. She should stay with carnival.
2 years and 2 months? Wow, a lot of people belong in prison.
