me personally, I love these things. I’ve owned a 2014 for an eternity and it’s suffered countless drops and splashes, and yet it’s still going like nothing bad has ever happened to it.
I have had a mid 2014 i5 MacBook Air for the past 9 years, use it for everything from work, to practice and live music, and some indie games, and whenever on the move, runs Mojave and runs great, for changing the SSD you can make any NVME compatible with a pretty cheap NVME NGFF adapter and you are good to go.
I got a working early 2015 MBA at about $190, installed Samsung M.2 SSD using an adaptor. It is doing fine, it even drives a 4k monitor through its thunderbolt 2 port. I am running Linux on it.
a quick fix for the broken installer problem is to change the date in terminal to sometime around the time catalina was released. Its what i have top do for my old high sierra macbook pro
I had a 2015 MacBook Air that I just gave to my mom for her birthday. It was starting to get slow and with my iMac and iPad I didn't need it anymore. Hopefully she loves it as I did! I got it for college and loved that computer so much! I took pristine care of it. Hardly a scratch or dent in it. Unlike this computer that was so poorly taken care of. Shocking to see you drill out the screws on it just to open it!
@@frokfrdk lol someone probably went at it with a Philips bit and stripped everything. Seeing the condition I wouldn't be shocked if that was the truth.
I did a flip like this with a 2015 mbp 13 in got it for 40 dollars but it needed its logic board replaced, I got its board on ebay for like $110, everything was still good and ended up selling it for $260
you should do a video on the 11” macbook air, it’s really interesting, especially the 2010 being the only core 2 duo 11” macbook air, with the weird F keys
You could have just used scripts like GibMacos in order to manually download the installer. Or alternatively, the tool that comes with the OpenCore bootloader that downloads the appropriate recovery image for whatever version you want.
@@frokfrdk The advantage of the latter option is that you get a simple DMG file if I remember correctly, and that can simply be written onto a USB drive and booted on the target computer. Apple changed the way they distribute their installers past a certain version which you can't convert into something bootable, so the recovery dmg is optimal.
@@frokfrdk it might be that all the macbooks have bad magsafe ports or all the chargers are bad.... even my 16$ amazon special 3rd party ones dont get hot on the tip!
Ok…the top-down view and the white lettering is classic Dankpods. The eucalyptus oil is Psewri’s thing (not sure how to spell it). Are Aussie UA-camrs combining now? 😂 Edit: also, 1:23 don’t spray directly into a screen. Spray into the rag or towel you are using… sprayed liquid can get under the bezels

I hope it's doing well in its new family 😊

This was fascinating, I’m discovering an interest in computer repair after putting in an SSD in my PlayStation
bro feels like a repairman after upgrading his ps4 harddrive 😂😂
You can also buy an adapter and use regular SSD drives instead of buying apple's proprietary ones.
i did that with my 2014 11 inch macbook air! i went from 120gb to 500gb!
i went from 128gb to 1tb on my 2015 Air

Well. Ventoy seems like it would be a very useful tool to you. Also, network recovery is a thing. So much easier and just does its own thing
You can get a screwdriver bit that is designed to latch into stripped screws
