Hi friends! Sorry about the glitch at 5:47 - I've cut it out in UA-cam Studio, but it takes several hours to update (and I didn't want to take the video down and re-upload) not sure why this happens, but it's something with the upload because the original file looks normal! 🤷‍♀anyway - here's the link to the end card video I mentioned (not sure why that doesn't seem to be showing up either!!
    ua-cam.com/video/x13tMojJapw/v-deo.html
thank you for your patience - I really don't know why I'm having so many tech issues today! (and as always thanks so much for watching ♥)

Love the new word "relational audience". You really highlight the fact that, in the long run, people are not JUST subscribing to you for information, but to go along your life's journey. So take your audience for a fulfilling enriching ride.

Though I started my UA-cam to supplement my blog, it has become a favorite creative outlet. I have watched several of your videos and others on the topic of UA-cam growth and I must say yours are the most 'real' and down-to-earth. You don't make grandiose promises of sudden explosive growth that is so bogged down in exhausting schedules that it is overwhelming. The recommendations and suggestions you give are doable and easy to implement. I don't want a million subscribers, I want to enjoy the journey and keep it fun while making it pay for my time as much as possible. Thank you.

I can relate, sometimes it 'feels like' everyone else succeeds so easily and fast, and it's almost embarrassing to not have had big success after years of effort. Quitting is worse than failing for a long time

Thank you Katie. I appreciate how encouraging you are in your videos (especially to me at my age! 63!) and helpful. I started my channel and then due to multiple life crisis I had to stop. Looking forward to starting again soon. My motivation is not for likes or money, just because I have have always been involved in a creative process and enjoy it.

i started my youtube 2 months ago as a way to escape a job and degree i hated.
i soon became obsessed with the numbers and was constantly comparing myself to people that i looked up to. social media became a game that i just had to win.
it was horrible and i had to remove myself from the social media "mindset" (dopamine detoxing) so that i wouldn't burn out.
this video is so incredibly important. thank you for the advice.

A huge THANK YOU for this video! You said EXACTLY what I’ve always thought about growing on UA-cam. Everyone in this niche is like: “You gotta rank high on UA-cam search”, but every time I found something through search it was always something very specific and I didn’t really have interest in the theme long term speaking.
    Thank you!!

Having a UA-cam channel is such a wonderful experience. i get to be creative and express myself in such a nice way. I like to experiment with my youtube and of course depending on the time i have and the period i am currently in my life i try new ideas. I am not sure if making a second channel will be good for me now because i would then have to focus my attention to two channels which would be even harder. At least for now i'll keep this one and hopefully one day more people will discover this little corner of my world.

Thanks for this, Katie. I recently saw someone's planned pivot video on their 2M subs channel and it was disheartening. Since I know of this strategy, I could tell that the sudden pivot had been planned, and the creator acknowledged that he was playing into the algorithm in order to grow his channel while lamenting that he "had" to do it because no one watched the videos he really wanted to create. His channel grew astronomically in a short amount of time, but what value is there in growing inauthentically with an audience that isn't in alignment with what you really want to be doing? Sure, plenty of his subs will stay for anything he creates, but how authentic and honest is that? Unfortunately, he's now teaching others this strategy when what we really need is more authenticity and honest growth, not more manipulation. Give me slow, authentic growth any day.

Katie I LOVE your content💓. Haha, I really appreciated you saying You-Tube is the opposite of a get rich scheme. The work is long and the sacrifice sometimes is great, but I’m sure it will all be worth it in the end! Even if it’s learning new tools and skills and pushing yourself in ways you never dreamed. Growing on You-Tube has forever me to learn constantly, pivot, and be very understanding that change is necessary and happens frequent on this platform. I appreciate all I have learned these last 2 years.

I can’t justify the cost for myself atm, as my income is not tied to my social metrics. That said, with Later being bought out I have noticed a shift in the platform and like it less and less. Everything seems an add on. I have enough subscriptions as a content producer that I do start adding up the money and will focus on what I need first.

Thank you 😊 for tip #7, 🙏 will definitely not give up😢 also thank 🙏 you for talking about the intro. My AVD is 30s and i guess I need to work 🙃 on my intro. Also, I love ❤️ the advice of being more relatable to the audience than the search engine 😮 Also im just a new UA-camr and I don't have much gear except my new phone btw its not an iPhone, its the new Samsung Galaxy A55 and thats all i got😢praying that 🙏 the video and audio would be good (enough) for the viewer
