- Join me as I celebrate my first year of being on UA-cam! In today's video I share the behind the scenes of being a new creator on this platform in hopes of inspiring you to become the same.
Some say that UA-cam is a numbers game, that analytics and retention rates are all that matters.. but I disagree. This will never matter more than what is to be gained on this journey in terms of personal growth. Especially if you're someone who is on the more introverted side, like I am.

@@wellwithdorain 2024 I have started my psychopathic abuse recovery ❤️🩹 mind and body transformation. I am overcoming my fears every single day. Today was day 22 of my journey. I overcame fear to speak up twice today: 1st at hair salon -I made everyone laugh and 2nd time - I spoke up to my abusive neighbour's who were threatening me. Usually I just silent but today I pushed myself and I feel proud.

I've been doing youtube since the beginning of 2021.. My channel has been sooooo slow in terms of growth, but I've LOVED every second of filming, editing, getting creative etc etc.. I didn't once let me lack of views or subscribers demotivate me, because I genuinely enjoy creating content. That being said, literally about 20 mins ago I reached 1000 subscribers!!! It feels so weird, but also so good :)) The growth I've seen in your channel over the last few days is INSANE!! I'm so happy for you!! You 100000% deserve it xxxx

@@josiahamaze depending on priorities you might have, make an effort to schedule intentional time (daily or weekly) for you channel. even if its just 30 mins thinking about a concept video and the juices will start flowing.

How do you avoid looking at Likes and Dislikes, i struggle to not look here, and often it depress me Rip. I literary make 30 mins of video, where i had fun recording and editing, plus the project costed me lots of money, and time, and i had to learn to edit and all that crp... And there is somehow peoples reaching to dislike me.. How. You seem to be very advanced.@@raihana.onfilm
I think what strikes me about your video is your earnestness and sincerity in telling your story. You come across so genuinely and that is what grabs people's attention, at least it did for me. “What am I doing here? I’m sharing myself, I’m sharing my energy”. We gotta do this first and foremost for ourselves, mostly for ourselves as a way to honour our own innate right to be, to express whatever we’ve brought to share and give to the world. I’ve been procrastinating creating my channel precisely because of the fear of sharing who I am, fear of opening up, fear of blossoming into the world. People can be really fucking cruel and the more sensitive one is the less encouraged they feel to get exposed and judged. I’m much closer than I’ve ever been though. The awful lot of shadow work I’ve done is bringing fruitful results. Thank you for this very necessary video.

Here another super newbie on UA-cam and I relate so much with your thoughts on being a ‘smaller’ content creator! I think we really need to treasure the genuine attitude you mentioned when creating new videos. Like, nobody is expecting nothing from us, and we have so much space to challenge ourselves, try new things, talk about things we love and value.
I'm so glad you relate! This is literally something that I appreciate so much as a new creator because it is a type of freedom that some "big" UA-camrs don't really have sometimes. Some do of course! As a new UA-camr with just 23 subscribers and also an introvert I relate with the part of thinking a content idea is perfect and also thinking it's not the next minute. That and being comfortable vlogging outside my room has been my biggest struggle. Don't get subscribers or views but am really great full to God that I actually started in the first place
Awesome video. I am small UA-camr, and I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. If you are not popular, people won't care even if you have the best videos and the best content on platform. I am not beginner anymore, but I know how hard it can be (and honestly if I didn't use a lot of Famester, I would have quit a long time ago. It made everything much easier for me, especially getting to 1000 subs and view hours).

This is INCREDIBLY thoughtful and helpful as a beginner. The first thing you said about encouraging introverts to pursue UA-cam if they’re interested really hit for me. There’s a lot of outlets that aren’t great for introverts and it’s exciting to realize this can be
OHHH I'm so glad you resonated with that part! That was a big turning point for me realizing that this doesn't have to be stressful like all of the other social media are (for me at least). I started seeing UA-cam as an advantage almost, where my introverted qualities can be actually well utilized.
I definitely suggest getting ahead. My channel is a baby channel and I had been thinking about a channel for many years. Two months before the new year, I started filming videos and getting them scheduled to make my channel happen. So when I started, I was two months ahead, procrastinated some, and now I'm a month ahead. It really takes away the weekly stress. I even got a whiteboard in my office with four video ideas that are the focus, so it's right in my face as a constant reminder. I am a very out of sight out of mind individual, so this is incredibly helpful and prevents me from getting overwhelmed. Loved your video!

This was Inspirational, and proof that you're only ever 1 video away from breaking through. We get so caught up in our fear of taking chances, because its frustrating to think of putting in all the work, and failing. I had been stagnated in my UA-cam career in 2024, even though I started in 2006. I had been successful before, but I'd lost my way in doing what is easy, instead of taking chances. Thank you for this video. It's exactly what I needed to listen to this morning.

im also very introverted when it comes to making videos. taking my camera out in public is already nerve-wracking, i can't even film myself at home if i know my family can hear me. i've been so self conscious of starting my journey but i genuinely love the creative process so i'm definitely going to push myself this year! thank you for your insight and congrats on one year!!

This is so sweet and encouraging 🥳 I have had some unexpected success on TikTok but with the potential ban, I know it's time to transition to UA-cam and I've just been terrified. The technology differences, building a new audience from scratch, finding a new format, etc are all so intimidating but I feel like it's possible.

You have such a nice gentle yet confident vibe - what a pleasure to watch. And huge congrats on your first year of UA-cam! So amazing to see how this video took off and boosted your channel. I'm a massive introvert and find it extremely difficult to talk on camera in front of anyone. But my husband (also an introvert) and I started our channel 2 years ago and it's mostly travel-based, so it's kind of unavoidable. I think our vlogs could be SO much better if we had the confidence to talk to (and in front of) other people, so I'm really going to try to work on this.
On a personal note, I've really been wanting to start my own channel for YEARS and always talk myself out of it, but watching your vlog has really made me feel motivated. Who cares if I only get 50 people watching? Who cares if I look stupid? What's important is building my own self-confidence and doing something that I can be proud of. You have no idea how many videos I unlisted because of some weird feeling of ''not being good enough'' or some higher expectations of myself that no one else really cared about. And at the beginning of this year, I listed them again. And looking at them now, I feel SO PROUD of myself, considering that was almost 3 years ago, and I had no idea how to edit properly and make good art in general 😆 I remember feeling super awkward in front of a camera, but I did it anyway. Looking back at them and myself, I really didn't think of a ''perfect video'', amazing edit, and whatever, I was just creating and enjoying... And that's what I'm bringing back this year! 🔥 And I must thank you for this amazing video, you really motivated me even more! It absolutely does! Oh for sure, it's a lot and it exceeded my expectations already! I just think about if I had to talk in front of that many people put together in a room all at once, what kind of a meltdown I'd have :')
It's also helpful to think of views as people in a room. Equanimity is important, if a video starts doing very well and then the following tanks it is easy to get demotivated. Let's say the first vid got 1k views in a week and the second one got 100, that's still 100 people in a room that you addressed. I can't remember what channel made that analogy but it stuck with me

i loved this video 🖤 i finally got serious about my dream of having a youtube channel and started posting last spring, my one year will be this march! it's so inspiring to see other people who have smaller channels sharing encouragement on starting this journey as opposed to someone who's already "made it" and has 1 million subscribers. sending you all the good vibes on achieving your channel goals! filming in public is something i still get anxious about but honestly just throwing myself into it and remembering no one is looking/thinking about what you're doing as much as you assume they are REALLY helps me when i'm psyching myself out
I'm having so much fun running my channel BUT I kinda hate filming myself. So I've scrapped videos for that reason.😅
@@kdramachats i feel that 😭 i’ve definitely had to get used to what i look like on camera esp as someone who used to only show themselves with makeup. i kinda just had to make peace with it bc it’s unrealistic to always be done up in every video, but it gets easier!

Love this! I'm in the same spot as you were 2 weeks ago. I've been off and on with posting and the last year I've been trying to be serious about it. Ah I love this! First of all, congrats! I’m also an introvert and have thought about doing YT for over 7 years and never did anything about it… I filmed videos being like “yess I could post this” but never did 😭 It’s so difficult because I’m so afraid of being seen(?)/judgement from mothers but it’s inevitable as a content creator..
I get you but tbh if I hadn't keep going I don't know where I would be I have fallen in love with editing and helping others

I really get that. I wish I could tell you that that fear goes away, but I haven't noticed it decrease much since I started. But that also doesn't have to stop you from starting! The cool thing is: you can be afraid AND start. Figure out the rest along the way. People who judge you for doing something that you truly want to do are not the people whose opinion would matter to you anyway, right? So just go for it! Rooting for you! ♥️

Your doing amazingly well, whoo hoo! - I'm just starting out this year and I've a long way to go and atm I have no face videos like you have now but will sometime in the near future and get a bit more experience in the editing part. I'm currently doing videos mainly on my hobbies (horses and keeping fit) and interest so that I am actually regularly producing a video type weather it'd be a short or a long video.

I started my UA-cam channel a few months ago after a long time of contemplating.
This video just motivated me to continue because I find it so daunting sometimes.
I was part of a religious group that discouraged us from expressing ourselves freely, especially on social media, but I have slowly been letting go of that fear.

The first time I tried to speak in my video I felt so defeated because I knew what I wanted to say but it wasn’t coming out the way I wanted. Second try, I made some bullet points and it was better. I quit my job to pursue an idea I had for a UA-cam series, and just launched it this year. There's been times where I've had deep regret, where I felt like pursuing this was stupid, and that this was reckless of me (it still is tbf) - however the wave of support I've had from my friends and peers has been nothing short of amazing. It also feels amazing to create things that I want to create. The channel itself has a long way to go yet, but this video of yours gives me a lot of hope. Thank you for the encouragement! I've been doing UA-cam for quite some time now, and its really frustrating at times cause videos dont perform well. But then I remind myself I keep making videos because it makes me happy, and I think that's what's important :)) I feel less anxious now when I'm going somewhere alone, because I film it. Although I still feel shy filming in public, but I feel like vlogging is really helping me ease my social anxiety.
I know I've a long way to go, a lot to learn, and I'll try my best to improve and do better. I'll never give up
I get you girl. I was on IG for a long time and it was really demotivating to create but not see a "return". Then I realised I just hated creating for IG. Making YT videos is fun even if nobody watches haha. So as long as you're getting something out of it personally, then it's so worth it to keep going! Rooting for you and you channel ♥️
