In this video I made my first DIY sketchbook from scratch using coptic binding, no glue or book press needed. all of the tools I used in this video are linked below.

Just because you mentioned feeling some pressure to mainly put done and polished pieces on youtube, I would definetly also watch a sketchbook session or an "unfinished" process if you wanted to do that. Up to you :)
I agree that's a great idea 💡
🤩 I really wanna try that ❤️
@@CurrieGOAT Glad you like it 🙂
Completely agree with that. Honestly believe that this could also be a place where you can also share your whole process not just new projects and finished work, I wouldn’t want you to start to stress about what you share cause I’m pretty sure most people here would love anything you would make :)
Honestly I enjoy the content on this channel so much: beautiful art, chill vibe, positive mindset. I really think any type of project, even a more experimental and less curated one would be great to watch.
When I’m feeling burnt out I love watching your videos. They inspire me to be creative again
That looks incredible for being your first book! I like that you took the time to design the covers, it really makes it stand out.
This came out absolutely lovely, thank you for making this video!
Definition gonna try and make one!
Beautiful ✨🌟✨
I’m inspired 🌺
Very nice work as always, i love to see stuff like this when you are exploring and thinking outloud. It is very inspiring (as is all your content) for me to do something similar. xoxo
Beautiful
He is so cute🥰
Sorry but I have to point out that this man is serving an unbelievable, quality work with not only his beautiful pieces but also amazing and profesional editing style. This is something not common, especially for smaller UA-camrs. On that note I think it should be highly appreciated. Thank you.
Honestly just here to vibe to you calmly being creative. That never happens to me
I recommend they youtuber Kloodwig to you then, if youd like to find more artists like him :)
@@Cillias14 Yess I love Kloodwig as well, both of their videos are so relaxing!
His voice is THE calmest and most calming thing I have heard in my life so far
same when im most creative is when im manic so this is so random to me
i get stressed out and stop i usually finish it the next day or never-
This is so cool! That repeating floral pattern is GORGEOUS.
Thank you, I really felt the design needed both
@@CurrieGOAT it's a great combo!
@@CurrieGOAT it's beautiful
fun fact: the reason why the poodle moth's existence is controversial is because there are other moths in Venezuela (the area it was photographed) which look incredibly similar. The controversy isn't over a moth that looks like that existing (see the domestic silk moth, so fluffy it has become unable to fly due to selective breeding for silk production) but over if it was really a new species or just one that we already know exists in the area
Watching you work is pure therapy - your calming voice, your great knowledge, your beautiful artworks, and the immaculate quality of your videos are all out of this world. It heals my soul and brightens my mood to see your art and learn from you.
😁✌🏿 thanks you, I’m glad it’s connected with you so well ❤️
i always wanna know how to make everything from scratch cos stuff like that is fun for me. i literally used to google “how to make clothes from scratch” when i was 10😂and having a channel like yours that keeps giving us interesting things to try and presenting it in a way that’s visually pleasing is just really cool and i really appreciate it❤️i wish you the best
Wishing you the best too 😁✌🏿
This is eye-wateringly brilliant! I'm going to have a go at making these as Christmas gifts I think (at some point)...
🤔maybe I should made a Christmas version
@Jana KRAMPUS. YES I second that one!!
You have a real way of sharing the creative 'energy' and warmth when you create things. I used to spend a lot of energy on growing my art and learning different techniques but kinda hit a wall when I was rejected from the art school I applied to. I got into another school and it was great and I learned a lot but none of my classes were about art, and making art turned into this very rare thing that I didn't put much effort into. I'm in university now (also not for art) but i've slowly realized that i've missed making art and now that the negative connection to being rejected or 'not good enough' weren't there anymore i'm getting my love for art, and making it back.
This channel in particular has been extremely inspiring and also just reminded why I started making art in the first place.
Thank you a lot for that! Honestly I've been a fan for a while but this video made me nostalgic and I really wanted to share. Looking forward to your next project!
I appreciate you taking the time to share that. u r a good person
Just wanted to say I totally relate, and it's never too late to go back and finally learn what you want to!! Don't let negative feelings about how things went prevent you from starting something new! (Not saying you are, and don't mean to presume, just general encouragement for anyone who can relate 🙂)
Dude i'm in LOVE with your work!!! They're so stylish and aesthetically pleasing.
Your videos are so inspiring 💕👑
This was so relaxing and aesthetically pleasing, all your work that you show us is beyond beautiful . It is also very inspiring!
💗
You are the most underrated person on the internet. Your drawings are so beautiful and inspiring to other artists including me. I love watching your videos to gain some inspiration or to relax after having a rough day or just for fun. You’re my favorite artist! I really love what you do, keep on going!
Man, I've never stumbled into anyone who's as boundlessly creative as you. The floral sketch alone! Love how the stem of the flower looks a bit like a spine. You did great editing in the clips of you in the botanic gardens! Also, how generous of you to put the sketchbook design up for free, that's awesome. Love everything about your art and channel, whether you do completely innovative things or improve upon old ideas 💙
yeah, i was really surprised that he didn’t put them behind a paywall! such an amazing and genuine dude.
I stopped in the middle of cooking to watch this great video, love your talent and hearing your relaxing voice.
😂 glad I caught your attention
I've always been interested in museums and creating my own, or displays of some kind. A supernatural museum would be so damn cool man.
I love how you go through your entire thought process and emphasize how inspiration can come from anywhere. Really amazing to see how your projects go from inspo pics and sketches to real life products. Keep doing what you’re doing!! You’re a breath of fresh air for me as a creative, makes me wanna make all sorts of amazing stuff
Btw that poodle moth comes from a silk worm, so i think its a silk moth, some guy on youtube grew them if u wanna see
"Creativity builds on past creativity" 12:26
THAT'S A BOMBASS QUOTE
This has to be my favourite sketchbook. You did the moth so beautifully.
so nice! love your style and color sense
UA-cam just recommiend me tour channel and i'm so glad
Your voice
Your art
Your Style are smoothie and expresive
I really like it :)
He really is the dad of arts and crafts
I've been binding my own sketchbooks since I was about 15 and it so gratifying. I find it so much easier to work with a book i've made myself rather than something off the shelf. its almost like my mind thinks 'well its already a bit messed up, who cares if you make mistakes'. If you're looking for good bookbinding youtubers to learn more techniques from, Sea Lemon is great for learning varied techniques, and Stopan's books are my ultimate bookbinding goal.
I love your channel!
You are a very captivating artist! Definitely subscribing, thank you for sharing💕
Hey, umm today I had a fight w my gf and I was truly sad, but your video genuinely made me so much calm, ty 🥺
Such a cool sketchbook. Probably will make my own😁👍
The video is sooo calm and the result is amazing
I love your videos so much thank you so much🥺
We want a sketchbook tour when this is full!
I love this idea
Same
Es increíble 😍
Mejor q el asmr es de lo más relajante q he visto
La voz , la imagen
Si ves esto antes de dormir . Dormirás mejor 💤
Just wanted to say that your artstyle is georgeous and your voice soothing. It's really enjoyable to watch your videos. Keep it up! :)
this is so cool, I love your creative process! I made a book over the weekend and used tracing paper for the pages, just to try something different 😅
I’m not an artist, but love to watch your process. It’s very unique - especially when you combine it with storytelling and mythology.
My sister has gotten into bookbinding as well, although she has done this for some time now. If you are interested in maybe some inspiration you could check out her insta: @s.p.crafts. (She knows more of the thechniacl stuff and names to different stiches so worth reaching out.). Her style is very different to yours i feel like, but inspiration hits unpredictably ;). Anyway, love you aesthetic and keep on going!
I check her out ❤️
This. Looks. AMAZING!
Legit my favorite thing to watch is his channel rn
I love the idea of a supernatural history museum! You are so clever my dude!
YOU ARE SO TALENTED OMG!! So glad I found your channel!!!!!!!
Your style, art and fashion is so unique and I'm OBSESSED! This semester I learned about vectors and how to use Adobe Illustrator in my Intro to Computer Graphics. So it's so amazing how you've come into my life just as I'm starting my Visual Communications program in college. You've inspired me so much in these past few months!!! 💜
this video was just what I needed - I was feeling sad and your voice and creative process as well as the music in the background is very calming. Thank you :)
You keep consistently delivering such quality content and tbh I've never been happier to see someone's channel grow so much :)
I really liked what you said about creativity building on past creativity and having to repeat yourself a certain amount of times before moving onto the next step. I'm kind of a perfectionist with the little amount of art that I do and I beat myself up if I'm not immediately amazing at something or when I can't just come up with ideas, but I've never heard such an effective way of saying "practice is important" that actually spoke to me before!
HOW AM I JUST FINDING THIS GUY!!!??? This is so beautiful!!
i loved watching this video while I drew. it was so calming and inspiring! thankyou for this calming vibe and amazing art
i’m i’m love with you
I love how you explain your entire creative process and the inspirational build-up. I would love to share your videos with my art class. Keep it up!
Your voice is so soothing, I can’t wait try this my self 🤩
Your artwork would be amazing on quilting cotton. I’d buy yards and yards of it. Especially that flower pattern. Just beautiful.
The asmr quality of this audio....fantastic. Love the final look of your sketchbook!
Will definitely make one 💯💯😳
I just found you in my recommended and I FUCKING LOVE YOU
Very creative👍👍
the pink thread was a genius touch..... once again, another super inspiring and satisfying video!!
The Algorithm finally pulls out a great video!!! Subscribed, your very cool, and I like your voice :D
Vectornator your uploads can be stolen though, please go thrue how i make my sketch, into digital, then if vector fr upload then a must is waterstamp, right.... i dont have ,y shit on any online place because of my ink got stolen AND TATTOOED BY OTHERS;(
your videos are so amazing! the editing makes it so enjoyable to watch ... I can’t believe I’ve only found your channel now!
I know this isn't a very new video, but it's the first one of yours I've stumbled across and I have to say: dude, you're so cool! Everything in this video is so so good, the video quality, all the different angles, animations between segments, of course your drawings themselves! Very high quality and a real joy to watch!
This is the first video of yours I've seen, and I absolutely loved it!! I already subscribed and started watching more. You are amazing and your video inspired me like crazy much. Thank you!
Besides your beautiful creations, I love your video style ☺️ What camera and editing software do you use?
Wow. I just found your channel and I just subscribed. You give off such a calm vibe. It's really relaxing. You know when you get a certain feeling about certain things? Well I have this certain feeling that I get when I think of cherry blossoms and that's the exact feeling I got from you. Sorry if that sounded weird lol
Nice work, I like how you used photo editing with traditional Japanese book making🙌🏾
I Just don't have words to describe How you are amazing, your art inspire me a Lot.
(Sorry for my english, love from Brazil 💛💚)
This was great! I do embroidery instead of drawing, but I really just like your voice!
Wow, what a beautiful project! You'd never know it was your first time bookbinding, it looked lovely. I like how you added the useful endpages, that was a very thoughtful detail. I struggle with nice sketchbooks sometimes, wanting to keep them 'on theme' or only put finished sketches in them, so I have several spiral bound cheap sketchbooks for practice, ideas for clothing or embroidery, and sketching thumbnails, and everything is scattered here and there. I'm curious how you use yours. Maybe will you do a flip through when it's full?
Also, thank you for making me aware of the poodle moths, they are really adorable.
I’m so inspired by all the work you share with us online. Seriously one of the most creative people I’m following on UA-cam these days.
you're my first ever experience of watching a gentleman do journalling with art. beautiful work and the silkworm moth is real :) best wishes
How come I’m just discovering your channel now ?! I love your style of art !
How am I just finding out about your channel. You’re amazing and thank you so much for the calming vibes 🙏 sending so much love my friend!
Great video btw your voice is really soothing and your artwork *chefs kiss*
You are so talented and your videos are so enjoyable to watch! I love mixed media art, so this bookbinding video was an awesome surprise! Thank you for making amazing content, keep being inspirational ❤️
I'm so happy I found your channel! Inspired me start rug punching and your videos have such a calm and chill vibe. Definitely the best channel I've found this year
Enjoyed? Worshipped. I knew you were an amazing artist, but seeing you taking your time is even more satisfying. Book arts are incredibly fun to do. I hope you keep having fun with it as well. Thank you for the top notch content
I enjoyed the vibe in your video. Music, B roll shots, and a bonus was the content. Thanks for the inspiration.
half way through the video and I realized this wasn't just a "break into the first page" video. (And you are growing fast last time I was here you had like 30k)
Hi Denzel! about new video ideas, how about making one your iconic designs and then making temporary tattoos with it (inspired by Ig @noko_tattoo since she's a minor she does temps tattoos on herself but does trad tattoo on others).
Also as a less effort idea, I would be interested in hearing you talk about your research process of projects and inspiration (do you watch those japanese videos about making a thing?, do you have a diy learning plataform prefered? etc), I really enjoyed seeing Kew Gardens.
that is beautiful💘 I truly love making my own sketchbooks but I never manage to make the holes align with each other, resulting to uneven papers lol. Subscribed!
Your videos are so calming, I feel healed. Your art is so beautiful, I feel inspired. Thank you.
So much inspiration and help with the process. I love it! Would you ever consider a coloring book of your designs?
Thanks for sharing with us!
Just discovered this channel. This channel is very underrated!!!
Thank youuuuu for the pattern tutorial! I’m a graphic design student and right now I’m focusing on pattern and surface design and I was able to make my own floral pattern thanks to your illustrator tutorial.
I'm amazed by the constant quality of your videos and your talent. Just wow bro, I can't get enough of your content. Hope you will reach even more viewers as you deserve a lot more!
I just want to know...where are your rings from?? Amazing work btw!!
In just like 5 minutes this channel has become my favorite channel of all of the UA-cam. Thank you for the video 💜
the way you explain your process (and your philosophy) really helps me believe i can do this myself!!! i always feel more creative and inspired after watching your videos
Love the vibes in your videos, you have a really soothing voice and the quality is 👌!
Hey do you have a cricut cutting machine? I feel like you'd enjoy and make reeeeaaaalllyyy dope things with a cricut maker.
I never thought of making my own sketchbook I also tend to draw on random papers, I'm definitely gonna try this it came out so beautiful,
btw your rings are amazing
wow this video is so informative, so visually pleasing, your art style is amazing - just perfection! may i ask what printer you use?
I loooove your work and acc so much, you always put so much detail in what you do 👏👏 and your style is just amazing, never seen anything like it
