I've done this job twice. Once I couldn't get screw holding the cylinder on off and another time the brake pipe would not seal. In an ideal world that doesn't happen.

Yeah, the crew is steel and the casting is zamak. Corrosion can constrict the screw thread.

The bolt holding the brake line to the cylinder is rounding, and isn’t coming undone. Any tips? 👀

Great video sid. I'd get some rust converter for that heat shield soon, or do your normal routine for corrosion control. I'd love to see a video on it. Thank you

      Heat shield?

@@CycloneCyd maybe it's a dust shield on the inside of the brake assembly. The fairly thin, somewhat roundish plate that supports brake hardware and separates it from the underside of the car.

@@troy3456789 ah ha, the brake back plate (if that's it's proper name). Yes, soon

Thanks Cyd! Very helpful again. I’m saving all of your C1 videos in a “vip” (very important playlist) for the future. Recently I I did repair the after market central locking and I made an engine oil change. Things I learned from you! The entire June is vacation time, so I can take care for my sweetheart in red. Today I went to Konstanz by boat from Friedrichshafen; big sunny flea market there…

Awesome, thank you! When I visited there, myself and 3 friends flew into Konstanz , stayed a few days, hired a car, then got the ferry to Friedrichshafen and drove on to Fussen and the Nebelhorn and Konigsloscher Nurchwanstein. When we got back, we flew over the area, just because we could. It was ace.

My college has a 107 for this cup race. Done the rear left no problem at all the pipe unscrews from the cylinder no problem but the right side… let’s just say every Thursday I’m having to replace more piping/hoses😂 had to saw the pipe from the cylinder because a heat induction kit did nothing. Then the week after I had to remove the other end of the pipe connected to a flexi hose due to needing to replace the pipe. Let’s just say the heat induction caused the hose to explode off the pipe ruining the house

Hiya , so we've replaced the rear passenger wheel cylinder all went perfectly and brakes worked great (the pedal felt a little stiffer) . However the handbrake has just gone floppy it's self has gone loose (used to be very stiff to put on ) and now not working on passenger side any ideas ??

    • @Gtcman

Needs both rear brakes manually adjusting back up. It was a hard handbrake before because the piston was pushed out in the seized position meaning no handbrake travel
