About the Game:
» Clanfolk is a medieval colony sim set in the Scottish Highlands. Harness your environment to survive - fish, gather, hunt, and farm as you prepare for the harsh winter. Build an inn, trade with other clans, have children and marry them off - live life and prosper across the generations.

I love how when making a map Rhad basically said "Alright, so I'm going to min-max my Scotland Highlands by inputting Wales."

best tip for cooling ...make a room 4x4 or something and put a pallet with waterjars on it over the winter ...dont remove the frozen jars there and you have cooling deep in the sommer.

I've been trying to play this game and failing, went to watch some people play it so I could learn more, and then found out that you were also playing it... After watching this 1st video - I bow to you, sir, this is the absolute BEST advice ever! I've learnt a lot and I feel way more confident now, I'll play a bit later today. Amazing content, thanks!

I love the fact that "wearing your clan colors" is a critical need for your highland clanfolk. Do you know if the devs are planning on providing customizable tartans? Some of us actually have the right to wear particular tartans, and it would be nice to be able to make them in the game!
I don't know what is in store for development any more than you do, but I do like the idea of important tartans!

I feel kinda inclined to disagree on the importance of forests at start. You need a ton of branches to unlock wattle walls. I have been in a situation where I unlocked rock walls before finding enough sticks to unlock wattle.

The Scottish highlands have mountains. The lowlands are more rolling green hills.

This game is literally a medieval scottish version of Rimworld it seems. I hope the devs aren't too ambitious, trying to mess with the undisputed king of this genre. I really wish they have good ideas for their game. Still, there is also Going Medieval, as a more direct competitor. But I like scotts, so I hope this game will be really good, when it's done. Including powerful modding tools.
Last month I would have said 'No this game focuses on families' or whatever, but then Biotech added that for RimWorld .. so .. /shrug
I'm not even a gamer but tempted to try this.

Yes likely, you might not succeed your first try because prepping for winter can be difficult, but it should be fun nonetheless.

Looks interesting, but not my cup of tea. Looks like a lot of the graphical inspirations are Rimworldesque, but clearly it's not a Rimworld clone. Didn't really like it, not much content and rather dull. Good video though.

As someone who put many, many hours into the demo before it hit Early Access (playing the 10 days of summer over and over again) I was so bummed I had to miss this stream. Looking forward to catching it here at least, and seeing what you make of it.

as a Scottish person from glasgow i can confirm that the highlands are very mountainous lol its england thats flat and shite landscape lol keep up the great content❤❤
I love that the highlands of Scotland is the same mountain range as the Appalachians in the USA that got split up by the formation of the Atlantic

This game is nothing like Rimworld. This game doesn't have combat and doesn't have raids. Rimworld is the most complex colony storytelling simulator probably in gaming history. No offense to Clanfolk, but it's not even a speck of how good Rimworld is.
Rimworld is still much better as of right now. This game is nice as well but let's not bs each other. Rimworld is going to be ahead for awhile.
Oh look, another game that Rhad is going to inspire me to buy XD
