I always come back to this video to bring back the memories of this MacBook. This would be the last good MacBook Steve Jobs would’ve liked. Apple killed MagSafe and the ports, but the 2021 MacBooks are going to have these back. But they killed the glowing logo the main icon of the MacBook, i can’t believe that they killed it despite the screen being this because I wouldn’t mind if it was thicker cause i love that glowing logo.
I want something that I can use for web design and video editing. I have been using laptops for 10 years now. I like the macbook but its 13inch compared to laptops 15. Though those are portable and connect to a bigger screen via HDMI. I can't decide because I like to iMac which has Quad core, which might mean fast video rendering etc.

***** I've worked something out. Something is wrong with Chrome. Even on UA-cam on Safari and Firefox, 4K videos run fine. I do prefer chrome in every way apart from that so I'm gonna see if I can figure it out:)

Is your MacBook no longer fitting your needs? Does it not handle your day to day task or work needs? If the answer is yes, then by all means upgrade. Nobody else can tell you if an upgrade is going to fit your needs if we aren't told your needs.

I don't see a reason for you to upgrade. Given that the fan gets loud when editing videos. I suggest wait for a totally refreshed/revamped MacBook Pro 13". :D maybe in a year or two. Tony Stark how so? I use a pc and i can do all mac does but better and much more. I use photoshop and sony vegas, make music on fl studio and run games at max settings, no problems.
If you want more portability and just a casual laptop to browse the web and use social media and emails get either the air or new MacBook 12 inch with colors which looks amazing, and if you are a heavy worker or video editor or something get you the pro cause the performance is better
+julia truong Macbook Air should be fine, if not more than enough. You can definitely bump up the flash storage or the RAM just in case if you decide to do more with it though.

@@lillian3852 I am still using it to this day and I can say, it has never let me down. it didn't get any slower, performance is still like it was the first day i got it. Battery health is currently on 82% which i think is quite good considering it's been in daily use for almost 5 Years now.

***** it's not just SSD it's a PCIe SSD which is much faster than any other regular SSD available in the market. They are not only charging you money for the storage space they are also charging you for the technology behind it and a lot of people will be happy to pay for it.

If you don't make it expect massive margins in anything including small things like clothes to big things like cars.
Ethan DeMarco I agree with Slimecrazy234, the i7 on the 13" is dual core and won't likely give much differences. 16gb of ram is definitely worth it because you'll be future proofing yourself for any large tasks you might want to do.
The CPU will rarely be the bottleneck unless you're doing very intensive tasks (i.e. video rendering, 3D modeling, CAD etc...), though even those tasks would benefit more from the additional RAM than the marginal CPU upgrade. You cannot upgrade your RAM in a Macbook after you buy it, so the more you get when you're first speccing the machine the better.
Next time you do reviews on MacBooks or iMacs, don't bother to look at the paperwork, just worry about the differences between other apple products. It is a waste of time.

3-finger click looks up words as well, first thing I thought of when watching the keynote about force click to do the same thing. Though the webpage preview is pretty cool. I wonder if BetterTouchTool will be updated to allow the same function using a gesture on the standard trackpad? - Have you ever used BTT to add new gestures to the trackpad?

Tony Stark how so? I use a pc and i can do all mac does but better and much more. I use photoshop and sony vegas, make music on fl studio and run games at max settings, no problems.

Yes I use 13in MacBook pro retina daily over my 2016 macbook retina 12in
the last macbook which had no display issues,lots of ports,useful keys not that useless touchbar and overall an allrounder

If you want more portability and just a casual laptop to browse the web and use social media and emails get either the air or new MacBook 12 inch with colors which looks amazing, and if you are a heavy worker or video editor or something get you the pro cause the performance is better

+julia truong Macbook Air should be fine, if not more than enough. You can definitely bump up the flash storage or the RAM just in case if you decide to do more with it though.
So with these super expensive MacBooks if I get the 13 inch base will it slow down overtime due to me filling it up with memory or what because all I need it for is UA-cam and music
OMG this thing boots ULTRA fast! I went to the apple store today and this thing is awesome! It boots almost as fast as a tablet! And the force touch trackpad is great. My fav feature is that the click is so quiet! I want so bad but I can't afford it >_

I hear these new SSDs are faster but no mention of boospeed anywhere , will it boot in 10 seconds or below , my macbook air already boots in 15 seconds. is this faster ?

Nikkie G. They might be soon to discontinue, i know the genius bar discontinued and refuses to work on 2013 models, you probably have a year or 2 before the 2014 and 2015 models are also discontinued

@@lillian3852 I am still using it to this day and I can say, it has never let me down. it didn't get any slower, performance is still like it was the first day i got it. Battery health is currently on 82% which i think is quite good considering it's been in daily use for almost 5 Years now.

The price difference is marginal so apple are just increasing margin because they are a company who's sole purpose is making money. If you don't make it expect massive margins in anything including small things like clothes to big things like cars.

Ethan DeMarco I agree with Slimecrazy234, the i7 on the 13" is dual core and won't likely give much differences. 16gb of ram is definitely worth it because you'll be future proofing yourself for any large tasks you might want to do.

The CPU will rarely be the bottleneck unless you're doing very intensive tasks (i.e. video rendering, 3D modeling, CAD etc...), though even those tasks would benefit more from the additional RAM than the marginal CPU upgrade.
You cannot upgrade your RAM in a Macbook after you buy it, so the more you get when you're first speccing the machine the better.
Had a 2012 13", that dies only after a year. Upgraded to a this model (2015) rather than the 2016, and I'm lovin' it.
Next time you do reviews on MacBooks or iMacs, don't bother to look at the paperwork, just worry about the differences between other apple products. It is a waste of time.

Review what exactly? If you want to see a proper review, then go to notebookcheck or anandtech. This YT channel is good for unboxings mostly. Buying an exact same "updated" notebook doesn't make sense, but i guess it's his $$ so more power to him.
