Yeah, and the battery life is way better. I have had mine for nearly 6 months now (2014, 13 inch) and still getting 12 hours of battery life (for the first three months or so, I was getting over 14 hours). The new macbook is supposed to get 9 hours, so for a while it will probably get around 12, but as the battery wears in, it will go back down.

If you are a touch typist, then you will find this macbook very easy to type on trust me, I did it and I first felt it like more like table drumming, but then, you get the hang of it and it will actually feel better than a standard laptop keyboard
Fabulous laptop. For the average user, one that doesn't do strenuous programming or app developing, this laptop is plenty capable in terms of performance. What sets it apart obviously though is its weight and screen. Its display is beautiful and the weight makes it soo convenient. Not to mention the speakers are also awesome. The average consumer does not use ports often and the average consumer takes convenience over a boost in performance that you never really need. For anyone thinking about this purchase, be assured that as long as you aren't looking for a regular use of ports, or doing any of the things I already mentioned, this is an awesome laptop!

I have one. It's good enough for me, don't do any editing, just PDF reading, and typing up class notes. The camera is no issue for me because I don't ever use it... So far I love it but it's only been a few days. No performance issues yet. I can have UA-cam running while I do typing or reading in the background. There is no noise which I also love. The size if great, it fits comfortably in my shoulder purse. I will say though I have a MacBook Pro 15'' (7 years old - have only had to change the battery! Fantastic computer!) at home which this one is replacing. If I feel like I need more screen space I go back to the Pro and it's all good. I don't think I would buy this as my sole computer. It is a great accessory laptop. OH and the speakers are very good. Kind of astonishing the first time you play music on it :O So far so good. Hope I get another few years out of this computer, like the other one. Apple products are expensive yes, however I have never had any problems with anything I have bought from them (I've had/have: iPod mini, iPod shuffle, iPod touch 1st gen, iPod touch later gen, iPone, iPad, Macbook, Macbook Pro -- damn that's a lot lol) If anyone has any questions about use etc, I'd be glad to answer :)
I don't do any UA-cam editing, only watch UA-cam so I may not be the best person to answer your questions. Just reading what other people have said, this machine will edit small video files pretty easily, but if you're doing heavy stuff, may want something more powerful. I still have no complaints about the laptop though ...
When the MacBook was first announced, I was excited and wanted it. I rationalized thoughts about how it would benefit me, and when I could use it for. I'm a huge Apple supporter, but ultimately, I decided to get an Asus C300 Chromebook. It's has all of the selling points like being fanless and 10 hours of battery life. It's a great addition to my MacBook Pro for times when I'm away since my '09 MBP doesn't hold more than three hours of battery. It's also light and very portable (and has ports!!!), and I like it when I'm on the go since I can still get my work done. It may not be for everyone, but the C300 Chromebook suits my needs at a fraction of the price of a MacBook.
Does anybody know when a new MacBook Pro will be announced? I want to get the pro that is out now or should I just wait for one to come out with more features?

I really disliked you for breaking the iPhone 6 plus the way you did and thought you were raking publicity through that but all that is in the past and you are a pretty ok guy. About this review, it is very detailed and seriously makes the Macbook a strong contender, you busted the myths about a poor camera, also the processor is capaable, please also highlight in another video a month from now, the upgrade options (extra devices that can work with this macbook) Also what is the speed of a full charge from 0-100% and other battery related info. One more thing, I never knew people use their left pinky finger for typing, I almost never do. **Correction** You weren't the iPhone 6 plus bender so I have begrudged you for nothing, all this while. This is really the best MacBook. I'll wait for the next generation, there will be better processor (1,6) for sure and better graphics and that's definitely worth the money guys!! So see you next year ;-)
I think that they should put this mirrored finish on the Apple logo is all the MacBooks, but keep it backlit. It would be possible with some kind of one way glass over top of it. I have an alarm clock that has a mirrored front but it still displays the time very brightly. It think that this would be very neat, and when the MacBooks are off, it would be mirrored and it would look very nice, but when it is on, it would still glow. Anybody else think that this is a good idea?
+cmer I use it mainly for Uni but have been using it lately to record/edit gameplay and audio. I am quite surprised considering the Core M, but it's actually really good for multitasking (might do a mini review on that since there's nothing like that on YT). You can have about ten tabs running and you'd be fine. Battery - You'll definitely get the 9-10 hours stated by Apple. El Capitan probably takes 10 mins from it though. The Port is my biggest issue. Need another port! Have two adapters but once the battery's gone, you have to use the port for the charger. So your standard USB can't be used when the Macbook's on charge. If you buy a adapter with everything on it you'd be better suited, however it will drain out more battery.

"Less mechanical action to delay your typing speed"? (10:58) No-one has ever complained about any lag with previous MacBook keyboards. This new keyboard is a compromise, not an improvement. The shallow keys and consequent lack of tactical feedback detract from the typing experience.

It looks alright, but I am gonna stick with my current Macbook Pro (2014 Medio) and if/when I am gonna buy a new Macbook, I´m gonna stay with the Macbook Pro line.
Looks awesome, I specially love the space grey color on it. I wont get it though. I think Apple is really on to something with this device but it has too many flaws. The second generation will definitely improve this device a lot! Im gonna wait a year to see what they come up with.

+cmer I use it mainly for Uni but have been using it lately to record/edit gameplay and audio. I am quite surprised considering the Core M, but it's actually really good for multitasking (might do a mini review on that since there's nothing like that on YT). You can have about ten tabs running and you'd be fine.
Battery - You'll definitely get the 9-10 hours stated by Apple. El Capitan probably takes 10 mins from it though.
The Port is my biggest issue. Need another port! Have two adapters but once the battery's gone, you have to use the port for the charger. So your standard USB can't be used when the Macbook's on charge.
If you buy a adapter with everything on it you'd be better suited, however it will drain out more battery.

No-one has ever complained about any lag with previous MacBook keyboards.
This new keyboard is a compromise, not an improvement. The shallow keys and consequent lack of tactical feedback detract from the typing experience.
+mahlstadt I agree. I type just as fast on my Cherry MX Blues as I do on my laptop's keys, and I also type more accurately on the mech.

It looks alright, but I am gonna stick with my current Macbook Pro (2014 Medio) and if/when I am gonna buy a new Macbook, I´m gonna stay with the Macbook Pro line.

I think apple will take the new MacBook's design to redesign the macbook pro in late 2015 or the MacBook air in early 2016😁
Apple usually releases anew macbook pro on the beginning and the end of the first year and anew one on the mid of the secound year
Looks awesome, I specially love the space grey color on it. I wont get it though. I think Apple is really on to something with this device but it has too many flaws. The second generation will definitely improve this device a lot! Im gonna wait a year to see what they come up with.
