    I feel like there’s something so much better about a horror movie where the protagonists aren’t lone people but experienced military personnel. The fact that even an experienced and highly trained group of soldiers can get wiped out in an instant is what makes SCPs a lot more scarier

    • @fob1257
      @fob1257 4 роки тому +178

      Fear of the unknown. More scarier than seeing the actual monster. SCP is pretty much anything goes and that's what makes it scary.

    It's funny that Evan seems to be somewhat embarrassed with having to use the gas mask paints to distinguish team members but not only did it help a ton to tell each squaddie apart, it gives them all a little bit of extra character and frankly they look way more dope than just plain M50s would have been. They're MTF, they can do whatever they want.

The further up in the ladder you go in millitary, police, special forces or whatever, the less expendable you are. I really liked the fact the characters were differentiated by the paint on their masks (and flags, patches et al). I did not find that the least bit "goofy" but rather it increased the degree of the suspension of disbelief one TYPICALLY needs to EXERT with some films, (which is UTTERLY unnecessary with your works), perhaps because I personally CUSTOMISE every article of clothing, MOST shoes, EACH individual piece of headgear (love hats) I wear as "street clothes", and the fact each individual had personalized his gear RESONATED with authenticity to me, as if you are PASSIONATE about one's life or job, one expresses one's individuality. I felt the details INCREASED the immersiveness of your work, as did the score, the LONG unedited SHOTS and your attention to detail. Kudos.

    100% long takes are nearly always a better viewing experience than quick cuts, with long takes you can, and really have to give a sense of the space, and then with that sense of space you can then move the camera around and we can understand where it’s moved, it makes the world and set more recognizable at a glance once you’ve seen the camera sweep around it
