    Love the way the YouTubing farmers support one another.
    I follow the Funky Farmer as he’s not that far from me. Staggered to see how bad his maize is. As you say he’s a strong man and I’m sure he will get through this

    One of the things I most vividly remember from My childhood visits to Ireland was how utterly dark it got at night.
    The drone shots of the tractor, so ably demonstrated this.

    Great video today Adrian. I've never seen a bale carrier/tipper like that before. Very cool but of kit. Your girls are awesome. Great help and good work effort. I didn't know the paint kept the birds off the bales either. Monofilament fishing line strung over the bales would keep them off too.

      @@IFarmWeFarm I was a District Manager for Walmart in my business life before retirement. It's what we would use in front of static open doors to keep the birds out. Just make 'X' patterns over the top. Should take care of it.

    Try a few blobs of grease from the grease gun on top of the bales. Have been doing it here for good few years and keeps birds away.

    I always use a couple dabs of grease on my bales.no issues with the birds.Great videos,keep up the good work.

    Shoot a couple of crow and tie them to the fence, still the best deterrent but no good if your near town people they don't understand country, we net the bales now and that works well, great night time drone work and the lasses made a great job painting those bales if they don't get into farming they can always start a painting and decorating business up, thanks for sharing Adrian, good luck to you

    I left mine out for a week, and the crows did get them. I did not get them in straight away because of family issues.
    I had to tape mine, and I put a crow net on the bales.

      Yes some people said that, white plastic is hard got around me but pink might work as we can get it. Might try it next year

    We use green or white wrap and I have seen damaged bales patched with the black tape and the crow’s came and damaged the patches again

    Seen on a program one night if you put a spot of greese on each bale there won’t be a bird in sight try that works well here

    Is there some ingredient in the paint that deters the crows or is it just the different colors that are off putting? Could you use two different colors of plastic wrap in your machine to achieve same results?

    Hello Adrian.another great video as usual.great to here and see that ur girl has big interest in helping u out on the farm.u seem to have a great return in ur second crop.the land here in galway is like mass concrete.when the rain comes it will flow fir miles as it won't soak in fir a long time.the net is a great job.i see a man here beside me he breaks up old tapes that u could play in the car years back.he takes out the brown bit and ties them together.u wouldn't believe the whizz that's off it even if the breeze is very light.cant wait to see the next video.

      Generally the damage done to bales by crows is done in the first few hours of making them, after that they tend to leave them alone! Nets work well in some cases

      @@IFarmWeFarm we use net’s kept up a little with tyres and anchored to old spray cans about half full of water. Very successful to keep the birds off. The crows all came and sat on the wall having a discussion about the nets

      No real reason, just never really bothered as there was always enough Space there. Might stack them

      My contractor does have the net already on so I never really bothered to ask him to change things, net works really well

    I dont why the paint isnt working is it because the lack of food in the wild or is it that they seen the girls painting them and then they realised all them years it was just paint I dont know but you should get a banger or two to scare them away if this keeps happening but great video it was great to see the girls flat out at work and non stop of getting the job done👍

      Yes might get a net this week for them, same as we used on our silage pit. Be a lot handier if the wind doesn’t steel it 😉

    Have you tried different coloured wrap?? There's green,white, pink just wondering if you have tried that.And agree about b....... birds picking holes.Here in Aussie its the parrots but nothing serious

      @@philipthompson1674 I have used black and white and green and black and the crows never went near them. The last time I used black I ended up using 5 rolls of silage tape on only 100 bales. We are in a bad crow area. I find it amazing that the funky farmer can leave his out for a week or two with no damage.

    There's certainly no drought in Ireland.
    Our second cut got to about 4 inches of regrowth and died. Looks like it's all the glyphosated around here.

    Great video as always Adrian have you ever considered using plastic film instead of net gives an extra bit of protection and seems to forment bales better.

      Ya paint normally always does the job Harold, ya that music is a hit and miss. I had a different song on it first but then couldn’t use it due to a copyright. This was a 5am replacement. Good music that’s free to use is hard got.

    here is one machine i can recommend for the smaller farmer and fruit farmer 'Quad-X Power Shredder Flail Mower' i just bought one last week and ive been doing the orchards, forest areas around the house, the neighbours lawns for fun... works really well behind the Quad bikes, you can go where your tractor cant...

    Great video Adrian. Would you not go film on film rather than the net? I know it’s a bit more expensive but in my experience to date there is hardly any waste with it compared to the net.

      Never really considered it before, contractor does usually land with the net ready to go. Might try it in the future though as a good few people say it’s a good job
