The best set piece of the series is the ending of Lost Legacy, it combines Uncharted 2's train with Uncharted 4's drivable vehicles and jumping between vehicles. You can even jump from the train to moving vehicles and back again.
Their work on the entire Jak and Daxter series is legitimately the sole reason why Uncharted became so "great", especially with the narrative and cinematography efforts they had applied there. Uncharted is essentially a semi-realistic reboot of the Jak series, with elements and themes between its trilogy being similar and identical to Jak's, and The Last of Us was originally Jak 4. The Last of Us Part II is also like a semi-realistic re-imagining of Jak II, as that game's premise was also centered around the revenge and killing for the protagonist. (This will spark arguments) People need to stop praising the Uncharted series for these milestones that it didn't really set. (I mean seriously, where are the list of developers who've listed Uncharted as inspiration for their games? Finding a couple is easy, so that's insufficient. I've seen series like Dead Space be listed for inspiration for various games, like Resident Evil 2 "Remake", Stasis, Alien Isolation, etc.) Jak II and onward already seen that high quality cinematic story-telling experience. The character interactions, character development, voice performance, cinematography, etc, were all high quality and were experimented on in the Jak series. SIE and the Co Founders of Naughty Dog have acknowledged and pointed this out a few times. Uncharted did not popularize that "linear, hand-crafted, guided and cinematic experience" that was mentioned, especially when Heavy Rain was a few months away from release, which actually popularized the interactive drama genre of video games, especially with The Walking Dead series being 2yrs away. Uncharted 2 released in 2009, the same year Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time, Final Fantasy XIII, Killzone 2, inFAMOUS, Resident Evil 5, and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 released. Also Batman Arkham Asylum and Assassin Creed II, but I don't remember those games that well outside gameplay. Now, those other games should speak for themselves. Even the flawed 2006 and great 2008 Sonic games were doing very impressive stuff with cinematics and setpieces, though Sonic was sort of ahead of its time when it first dazzled people with that iconic whale chase segment in Sonic Adventure.
Definitely disagree with "Their work on the entire Jak and Daxter series is legitimately the sole reason why Uncharted became so "great." While it was clear that they took pieces of what they learned in Crash and Jak, still a lot more put in there, had you said "partial" reason, okay, but certainly not the ONLY defining factor. And moderately different games, Jak is a platforming game with some shooting elements, Uncharted is a shooting game with some platforming elements, the similar elements they use, they use in vastly different ways. And Uncharted definitely helped popularize the linear, set piece driven, cinematic focused story game...Heavy Rain was years after the first Uncharted (along with the other games you mentioned releasing the same year as the 2nd), 2 just took what Drake's Fortune started and made it bigger and better, whole foundation was there in the first.
@@RagnarokMic It's true. Jak itself can be looked at as the foundation for Uncharted. Without Jak, Uncharted could and would be a much different game. Jak not only gave them experience in the third person shooting platforming genre but also allowed them to see what works. They did it again with TLOU. And Jak is actually a third person shooting with platforming elements, going by Jak 3. Regardless, the games don't need to be the exact same genre in the same exact order for them to be extremely similar. That's immature logic. Uncharted uses elements from Jak in BOTH vastly similar and different ways. It's a different IP, so of course some ideas will be used differently. Doesn't change how much Uncharted took from Jak, including the TPS philosophy that Naughty Dog has honed in Uncharted. Uncharted didn't popularize that. Games were already like that and heading in that direction. I gave examples, and there's far more of it.

The remaster lost its cinematic touch when it defaulted to 60fps with motion blurs removed in pre-rendered cutscenes. i would have settled with the former with a 30fps option (like Last Of Us Remastered) but the latter missing makes the game feel less movie like especially.
Sony and Naughty Dog have partnered. Sony is basically a parent company and they provide the money to create these games. Without their deal with Sony, they wouldn’t have the money to accomplish what they have.
Sony own Naughty Dog, and because the biggest driving factor behind the support for Playstation has been their exclusives, they're not going to give that up. They may make a good chunk of change off of PC gamers, but Sony knows that if the games stay exclusive to Playstation, then they can also potentially get the sale of a console too from people who want to play the game. I own a PS4 for the sole reason of the exclusives, I can tell you with 100% certainty that if these games were on PC, there would be no need to buy a playstation over any other console or pc. They may make $60 off of a new game on PC. But on console, they can make $360 off of a new game on PS4 per unit. It's logical business, the riskier the road the greater the profit
I don't understand how this game is so appreciated. It is so boring and repetitive. The story didn't interest me one bit same as the first one and you always do the same things over and over gun fight-climb on something-puzzle-gun fight. Something that would've probably made the game better and would've made me care about it more was if there was any explaination whatsoever to how come this Drake guy is literally Captain America, invincible and more skilled with guns and in hand to hand fights than hundreds of mercenaries and soldiers, and how come his enemies are so rich that they can afford to hire endless armies just to kill one man. Nothing about the already boring story makes sense or is at least a bit explained and the game is so repetitive that after like an hour of playing it I start drifting off to sleep. It is an overrated mediocre game at best in my opinion. Disappointing. This was like buying an Assassin's Creed game and then playing pirates of the caribbean searching for money and materials for hours to do naval battles in Black Flag.
I don't like GTA SA that much. Even GTAIV is better. GTA SA doesn't explain how a gangster like CJ can be a secret agent for a government member, hás the skill tô fly a jetpack and even invade Area 51 (69 in the game). And the game has horrible gameplay even for that year of release. Forgetable boring genéric gangster characters and an even worse story. The only 3d GTA that I played that I didn't bother to finish. 🤷♀️
@@TheMrCHELL OK, but what that has to do with my comment? Plus Gta sa had many things you could do in the game it wasn't as repetitive and boring as uncharted.
Purchased the last of us remastered and the Nathan drake collection and I was seriously disappointed. I never made it passed the first uncharted game, wow was that bad. The game was pure trash and took all my desire to play the rest. The last of us was also incredibly boring, repetitive, and predictable. These franchises are the same garbage. Just my opinion

Reading that was painful, They love Tlou2 and so do I, along with the minority of gamers..
Almost as good as tetris.
Both are in my top five games.
The remaster lost its cinematic touch when it defaulted to 60fps with motion blurs removed in pre-rendered cutscenes. i would have settled with the former with a 30fps option (like Last Of Us Remastered) but the latter missing makes the game feel less movie like especially.
Hi
The last of us 2 will ruin naughty dog's reputation
they need a pc port, pc gamers will back them, but hey i guess they dont like money lol
Yes, I should’ve mentioned that they own Naughty Dog. But you get my point.
Your best bet is playstation now which I heard was on PC a while ago.
First
By far...THE GOAT action adventure game.
Just my opinion
you are wrong
The 1st game is the worst in the series but it's not a bad game lmao and you can't get away with what you said just cause of the "Just my opinion" line
Almost nobody talks about it, but Naughty Dog was on the map far before Uncharted. They were renowned for making great games. Ratchet and Clank, the Jak Series (phenomenal games), and of course, Crash Bandacoot.
