The Zombies are one of the iconic British Invasion bands that I love. Many great songs. They were still performing a few years ago and recently got into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.
The Zombies were always one of my favorites. This was the time The Beatles, The Stones, the Hollies and The Kinks were putting out great songs, when radio was fun!
I know I keep saying it but you my friend have the voice that people want to listen to I love just hearing you talk and your little laugh you have that special gift so keep doing what your doing
Nice! Those are major seventh chords, if I'm not mistaken. The vocables in the bridge leave me thinking of Frankie Avalon "Venus" from 1959. For some pop musical context for 1964 (beyond The Beatles et al.) also check out The Temptations "The Way You Do the Things You Do", Mary Wells "My Guy", The Searchers "Needles And Pins", Dave Clark Five "Bits and Pieces", Manfred Mann "Do Wah Diddy Diddy", The Shangri-las "Leader of the Pack", Sam Cooke "Another Saturday Night", Dean Martin "Everybody Loves Somebody", and The Supremes "Come See About Me".
I saw an interview with the singer, Colin Blunstone, earlier this year. At 79, he still sounds good. Unfortunately, the keyboardist, Rod Argent, had a stroke over the summer and will no longer be touring. Other Zombies songs were already mentioned in the comments. Rod Argent, with the band called Argent, had a hit in the 1970s called "Hold Your Head Up." I'm not sure if you've done that one or not.
It can come out of the blue or a chance interaction through social experiences! I think many of these talented folks are predestined to create and perform!
"She's Not There" "Time of the Season", are two other hits from them.

Love the Zombies and this song. All their music was great.
Maybe you're referring to syncopation where the downbeat is played at an unexpected time. I love it and it shows up frequently in pop/rock music.

Sound of the sixties, nice song from Rod Argent.
We had such great music in the 60s! ❤😊
You call it rock and roll. It's no more complicated than that. Classic '60s rock.
Part of my teen years...Still good songs...
🎯 When you stop and think about it… shouldn’t listening to music make you happy?!? What other emotion can be better than POSITIVITY?!?
The Zombies had their biggest hits (Time of The Season and She's Not There) a year after they broke up. I guess they really were Zombies.
Love the Zombies. And The Tourists.
A classic.
This is one of my favorites!
It's called, "playing on the off-beats".
More Zombies please they some more great hit songs. I love ‘em.
When this song came out, I got more no, no, no's from the girls when I got too frisky...if you catch my drift...
British Invasion, different could make the difference.
