This is exactly what happened at my house too. And I have a cat that looks like the one in this video as well. The only difference was that it was late at night and my cat was hissing at the bobcat at the patio door. The bobcat did look scruffy and skinny just like this one and my first reaction was that it must be sick. But I don't think so. There is plenty of food like rabbits and rodents available. Since they live a rough life, their coat is not going to look the best. I don't think they should be fed. If you do, they will come back again and then somebody will call animal control. They will trap it and kill it. Just admire and leave alone. The best we can do for them is to ensure that there are wild habitats available. Every inch of land is being developed into highways and strip malls and parking lots, so these beautiful creatures have to scrounge through developments looking for food and when they do, people call animal control. There should be an agency called People Control to prevent people encroaching into wild areas.

Why not have compassion to feed it & accept it as some outdoor pet that has a chance to survive without being hunted down. Years ago while camping I came across a Bobcat that was severely injured due to a trap, I spent my small savings on a vet & the cat became my best friend for 8 years. Every animal has a soul, the ability to adapt, adjust & relate to unconditional love. Regardless,,,,, I consider my situation a true blessing because I discovered myself & healed from much emotional pain & somewhat alcohol addiction. This Bobcat gave me the new meaning in life,,,, rather than being self centred,,,,, I had a daily responsibility & the endless joy of sharing my bed. The best thing is I gained respect,,,,made so many friends, I became the person I always wanted to be. Yes, my Bobcat lost a leg due to a trap,,,, but for a wild animal he became so gentle, so spoiled. When my life ends I can face God knowing that I tried to respect his helpless creatures.
Good for you Kip I really admire that I had a very similar experience myself aside from being extremely rewarding it was the right thing to do we both benefited greatly from it thanks for being who you are keep up the good work
This is NOT normal behavior for a bobcat. When a healthy wild animal is hungry, they do NOT go and beg at your back door. Did anyone notice the unnatural gait, or the odd head movements? It also appeared to be drooling slightly. I can't say for certain, but this cat looks rabid. I surely hope no one would be foolish enough to open the door under these circumstances...
That's what I was thinking, it looked like some fur on the side was missing. We have bobcats where I live and they're very elusive. LOL I don't think I'd open the door if it were healthy, it sees a nice fluffy cat and hears birds!
Yeah, they don't wander into people's homes unless they are sick. If animal control or cops came, they would put it out of its misery. It probably has rabies.
How would you like it if others assumed that every hungry, sick dog had rabies? No one looks good when he's hungry and sick, it could be anything. But if you call animal control and strongly imply that the animal has rabies, it greatly reduces its chances of leaving the vet alive, plus it encourages idiots to shoot animals without thinking first.
It can if it has rabies. I saw a vet show with a rabid bobcat who tried to attack a human. That was after they caught it and helped it. They tried to release it, but it started acting strange and tried to attack one of those releasing it. They ended up shooting it, testing it, and finding it had rabies. It was on one of the shows like “North Woods Law”. Love shows like that 👍🏻🥰‼️
