Cyrus the worlds worst C3 Corvette LIVES! We attempt to be transmission mechanics and have a go ahead at rebuilding a th350 transmission. We also unbox a turbo for Cyrus, and then after all that we go on a test drive!

I worked for an old guy who built hotrods and ran a muffler shop.
He hired me because I could weld, and I learned about everything else. One day he put together a th350 with a shift kit.
Put it all back together, threw it in the car, and when he took off, no shifty shifty, just first gear. He had it out and apart again in about 30 minutes. After double checking everything, and realizing nothing was wrong, he threw the new governor in the trash and put the old governor back in it, and it shifted like a dream. I really wish I would have got to watch him more before he had a heart attack and died........

@@CompleteToiletGarage your not wrong brother. I soak up as much info as I can, but I'm almost 40. Becoming one of those old guys myself at this point. It took me 2 tries to get a transmission that went forward and backwards, and shifted without manual assistance.

@@600wheelThere are several Corvettes with 6.5s, one 5.7, and a few Duramaxes. But the turbo 4.3 is pretty cool, since I have seen several people say they will build a turbo one, and never seen it followed through with.

For anyone looking for the magic sauce to really clean aluminum- Walmart StarBrite aluminum brightener. Boating section. The stuff is nuts. It’ll eat concrete and anything it touches though, so watch it and flush with water after. If you want your intercoolers, manifolds, cast aluminum accessory mounts, ect almost brand new this stuff is nuts. It’s an acid based solution though so I’d keep it out of engine bays and away from anything you care about.

The key to transmission assembly is top notch ignorance and force. The more parts you slam on the bench the better it will shift. Also go for a high score on “extra parts”. If it fits it mist go there

Jeez, I have a spare pressure washer I can give you. Seriously the way I clean engines and stuff is super clean, let it sit then pressure wash. Hook it up to hot water and it works 2x better!

I've been binge watching your videos today, the day after Thanksgiving, and I'm glad I am because I said in the last vijya that this old girl needed a MaxPeedingRods turbo and you NEVER disappoint! Those Olds diesels never came with a turbo (from what I remember), and this one needs it. It is good at doing burnouts though, even in reverse!

You realise without the fuel you won't get any benefit from more air.
Even maxing the pump won't do it as the injection dwell becomes too long.
When you turn pump up the injection last longer, you need bigger element for more fuel over no more than 32 degrees of duration, maxing pump out results in 40+!
Blow job valves can still be useful on diesels as there is still resistance to flow so lag can be reduced and you get a cool noise.
is that how a 4 stroke internal combustion engines works? hahahahaha I gotta fix the IP before anything happens... the timing advance isn't working at all on it. A year ago was the first time i ever took apart an IP, i've learned more since then. We are NOT professionals by ANYMEANS

Tell you what nobody has done; fit a p pump off a Cummins to a 4.3 olds V6.....
Oh btw, I think the misfire is air in the system, if primer is springy it's a sign.
When pumps wear out it occurs.
The fuel quantity is varied through pressure time area ..... fucked if I know what that means.....it says that in the book!

ya i already got a set of china mics... I used them a few times, they worked, but either they are sh!tting the bed, or the cord that i used to connect them with is. I lost alot of footage between a couple episodes for that reason. Atleast with the phone just doing it's thing i adjust audio levels the best i can so at least the audio is a somewhat consistent level... I just gotta save up and buy the nice RODE mic set. Only ones that are reliable in what i've seen.
