Some amazing shots Samuel! Venice looks absolutely beautiful and a photographer's dream. that light around the garbage bags was incredible! would love to see that in colour too. Thanks for sharing - really enjoying these potato vlogs.
Nice images on the 5D. The old cameras do give that special look, less surgical sharp but more one tones, and contrast. I still have my xpro1 and though i have some newer cameras, the result from the xpro1 is the most pleasing to look at.

I recently did a review of the 5D Classic. Ironically, I said very similar things to you; It's basically a "digital" film camera. Even paired with just a nifty-fifty, great results can be had.

I shot JPEG + RAW and the Jpeg in Black & white but I edited the RAW files with the Silver Efex Plug In for Lightroom. And I think I used the Polaroid 667 film emulation.
I highly recommend checking out Mardi Gras in New Orleans. It is either great or terrible depending on how you look at it, but it is big and over the top.
Damn those B&W shots where really nice Samuel. Definitly worth already the trip even if i believe that you did expect more out of the so called "Carnevale Veneziano"

I just recently rebought the 5D too myself. Shoot Sony these days and other mirrorless since 2012 so it was odd to go back to an optical viewfinder. There's been Pentax K1000 bodies tempting me for a while in order to get back to basics but the hassle of film (mostly the fact I have to stick to one ISO and colour or b&w) put me off. The fact I didn't have to worry about ISO choice before leaving the house was the first major advantage I found switching from film so I'm glad to have bought digital. Within the first year of owning the 5D back in the day I knew the LCD would be one of the improvements we'd see in DSLRs. The build was lacking when compared to the Nikon D700 but what the real kicker was the lack of antidust measures. My 40mm 2.8 is going to stay on my "new" 5D. Shooting with a b&w picture profile helps with that low res LCD. It took a while to track down the latest firmware as well, Canon having removed it some time ago. Allows for large capacity cards to be used so pretty vital. Found it in a forum.
I was ill before going to italy. And I was in Italy first week of february when there was no drama about the corona virus. Also I got better by the end of my trip and when I came back I was not sick anymore.

Cool. True about the lcd screen, but you can use the histogram on the 5D for a quick check on exposure.
