Awesome video! Really appreciate you using different sleeves and setups, helps the community really make a decision, and highlights why Gamegenic has been at the forefront of all accessories for AGES, so much thought is put into these products and i'll 100% be picking up a few as my exact setup Dragon Shield Mattes and KMC Inners was showcased.
You guys should make a video on those sliding card holders. Looking forward to getting my hands on some as they look awesome! Less bulky than your usual one touch, I just wonder if the protection is enough?
Since I saw their first post about it on twitter I have been VERY IMPATIENTLY WAITING to give them all my money. Ive been waiting to double sleeve more of my decks because I prefer the sealable inner sleeves but it BARELY fits into the ultra pro tower/cubes.
I keep my tokens in a separate box so my only concern would be that the space is so big that the cards move around a lot. If I have a double sleeved deck in dragon shields are they likely to move around a lot with the 100 card deck on its own?
With dragon shield having the new outer sleeves we need a bigger deck box... lol I am running gamegenic gameshell box to store my now tripple sleeved deck. it has inner (gamegenic), dragon shield sleeve (custom channel sleeve) and dragon shield outer sleeves and the commander is stored in top zipper section which the commander is quad sleeved with a hard sleeve (assuming its ultra pro) it gave me enough room to include dice as well. its a nice one stop shop.
The Bastion has slightly smaller exterior dimensions and it's easier to see what's inside at a glance. I haven't weighed them, but I suspect the Bastion is slightly lighter as well, so if you're carrying more than a couple it'll be easier on your back. They're also half the price.
I would like to mention, it does not pass the shake test, I bought one yesterday and I did a shake test, it unfortunately can't survive a rigorous shake test like it's predecessor, Boulder, but i still like the bastion and recommend a purchase, it looks clean and sturdy, and let's be real, we arent going to be shaking these deck boxes like a protein shake.
When we talked to Gamegenic they showed us a video of them running one over with a car and it held up with no damage. Super resilient material. Give me 2 mins and I will go try a drop test.
I just put a sleeved deck in one and dropped it from a height of 4 feet onto the concrete floor in my basement 10 times. Here are the results: - 3 of the corners are now scuffed (minor) - The deckbox opened on impact once - None of the cards are damaged - No cracks or splitting
Do u guys know if the "Bastion 100+ XL" also fits into the "Stronghold 200+ XL" like in the "Watchtower 100+ XL"? 👀 Thanks for the informative video!!❤
We don't have any dragonshield outers that we can use to test this, but my gut says it's unlikely. It's a snug fit with thick inners and DS Mattes, so I suspect adding a layer would put it over the edge. If you want to test, though, the Side Holder holds the same number of cards and is super inexpensive. Honestly, though, out of Gamegenic's product offerings, I suspect your best bet would be the Academic 133.
Oh! Yeah it gets kind of confusing - I've always referred to the middle layer as outers too, but both DS and Gamegenic have released like OUTER outers now. Oh well! I don't think you'll have any problem with sealable inners and regular DS sleeves in this box, but I haven't tested it. The thickness on sealables isn't substantially different than thick inners.
It’s really good to see the commander community come together to talk about the importance of using protection.

Bill looking like a L'oreal advertisement, I'm here for it
I mostly use boulders but I might need one of these for my token decks
Well, I'm sold. I use Ultimate Guard Boulders but I may try these out and ultimately (no pun intended) make the switch.
At 7:30 talking about not cooking was a great way to say" thats why this sponsor gamegenic video is sponser by factor".

I got real shopping channel vibes here and it was alot of fun.

We're glad to hear you're excited! The Bastion 100+ XL release is just a few days away! 😄
@@GamegenicSupplies are you guys out of stock at the moment?

Whats a good deck box storage thing that 5 of theses would fit in?
Also looking for it to hold my playmat all together
Not having a shake test messes with my feng shui
Do you happen to have a Quiver lying around and can check if they fit there? And if how many?
I don't own one but I think Eliot does. I'll see if I can get him a few boxes to try it out and get back to you.
@@TheSpikeFeeders I'd appreciate that a lot!
I came here looking for an answer to exactly that question.
You should do a comparison with gamegenic bastion to the ultra pro satin tower.

It's weird to see a sales pitch for a lot of stuff I already own.
Will these fit the new Dragon Shield Outer sleeves vertically (i.e. over sleeves - not standard matte sleeves)?
Trying to understand why you’d use this over their Squire XL?

They are neat but they look like they would break if being dropped?

@@TheSpikeFeeders oh sweet! That's good to hear then!
@@TheSpikeFeedersthis is what I'm here for. I love that you ran and tested this instead of just ignoring it.
Do the Boxes prevent the Cards from UV Light Damage? Are they UV Light Save ?
does a 100 double sleeve dragon shield art and dragon shield outer sleeve matte fits in the deck box?
Unlikely in this one. It'll fit in the Academic 133+ though!
Can the cards you put in the slide case still be in a sleeve?
In an inner sleeve yes. They are pretty tight to the edges though so I don't think anything bigger would fit.

Where have you seen that the bastion will fit inside the watch tower? Is this a confirmed feature? I have been curious about this myself.
am i too quick i dont see the twitter post
Same
Sorry about that, was getting errors when I tried to post. It's live now!
just finished the video looks like a really neat little box i like that it doesnt take too much room and has the label might have to grab a few
It's a shame that these things fail the shake test when held upside down.
Does it fit toploaders?
I use the dragon shield scalable inner sleeves along with their outer. Does the bastion fit that?

What's the name of that slide case?
Slide Card Case. -Alex
I always watch these when there is a 0% chance I'll ever swap from satin towers. What is wrong with me.
