Kane had successfully evaded the GDI's wrath. But the war in Europe was essentially won by GDI. Knowing this Nod forces had began to retreat to the center of their domain, Bosnia. By consolidating all their forces together they hoped to stage a last stand that would inflict massive losses on the GDI and buy time for their forces elsewhere in the world.
A powerful convoy of Nod vehicles leaving Belgrade was of particular concern to the GDI. Mark Jamison Sheppard gave James Solomon the urgent task of eliminating this convoy before it could escape to Bosnia. It was as he described it, "fish in a barrel time".
