    My grandmother was a very joyful, high-energy woman. She was very "happy" by western standards. But she was also severely addicted to alcohol and struggled with depression. I have come to learn that true happiness is having inner peace, and not so much being high energy and smiling a lot. You appear to be someone who has inner peace. This is what true happiness looks like to me, and I will strive as long as it takes to find this inner peace. Thank you for this video.

      Ahhh yes. The inner & the outer life can often be very at odds. I have my battles still but I feel like I’m the most authenticly peaceful I’ve ever been & I’m continually leaning in there. Glad the practice was helpful

    Such a clear and concise explanation! I've been working with the vagus nerve for the past few years realizing I've been living in a perpeptual "fawn" state for decades. Grateful now to see this so I can work with it consciously! I found these suggestions that perhaps ohters might find useful. And, thank you for your work in the world! ❣
    What to do about fawning:
    Create spaciousness. Make a rule for yourself not to respond to anything in the moment. ...
    Recognize the 'Disease to Please' factor. Having someone upset or disappointed with you creates discomfort. ...
    Ensure what you do is aligned with your values. ...
    Embrace all of it. ...
    Be aware and practice your responses

      Thanks for sharing these! It’s so empowering to be able to see our systems at play so we can work WITH them rather than being just ran BY them

    I think what I can relate to most is this feeling of needing to stay where i am; to validate the feeling. For myself and those around me. I often feel like if I dont stay in this mood long enough they will think im just acting crazy and wont believe what I'm feeling.
    I think my childhood allowed for the dismissal of my feelings too much; i think my heart is confused. I feel very confident in myself and rarely care what people think of me. Im typically unafraid to stand out and be different, to just be myself fearlessly. But when it comes to loud big emotions all that flees.
    I thank you for helping bring awareness to this for me. So i may continue to grow and better myself. Now that im starting to actually see it and understand it, I can keep bringing my attention to it and start letting it go.

    Hey Cole! I was wondering what part of the nervous system you would say is activated when we revisit a triggering memory, causing us to create inner turbulence and anxiety. Sometimes the body, in the present moment doesn’t detect that it is in fact safe. Do you recommend any exercises for when memories cause this negative flipping of the switch ? Xoxoxo C

    • @COLECHANCEYOGACCY
      @COLECHANCEYOGACCY  7 місяців тому

      Hello! It depends on the energy of the memory. How did the body feel when it was activated? More into the yellow or red? They can do either!

    Loved this video! I have been having fainting spells and my doctor classified it as a vasovagal syncope - fainting due to emotional distress. Before fainting, I wasn't feeling stressed and I feel as though my sub-conscious knew differently and down my body went! Do you have any additional insight on this? Thank you so much! Sending love from Wisconsin! :)

    • @dolphindeerwolf
      @dolphindeerwolf 11 місяців тому +1

      I have this as well! I went to the dr and all my tests came out healthy (heart monitor, blood tests, hormone tests). But I kept fainting (usually in the subway system) and it turns out I had low cortisol and, that in turn was affecting my progesterone hormone (cortisol and progesterone are connected). Also low sodium... and it would seem to happen for me when a bunch of things were going on at once: stressful event, haven't eaten much that day, doing too much while I'm under the weather. I did a more in depth blood test to find this out. I hope you can get it sorted out!! When I told my doctor here in Canada, they revoked my driving privileges so I haven't been able to drive for a year- I fainted 5 or 6 times in one year. But now that I have some answers and am working on solutions, I think I will be allowed to drive again 🙏 wishing you the best
