I wonder who got the contract for this. And how they got it, and how much they over charged and kicked back to whoever awarded the contract. And was the contract awarder a shareholder in the company that got the contract.
Will someone please tell me why is there bike lanes being built everywhere across Ireland? Is Cycling Ireland saying where they go? Because I know the Greedy Greens have destroyed a city near enough to me these lanes that they don’t even USE!! As a lot of these so called cycling lanes are dangerous as they have pushed the motorist out on the top of oncoming traffic. Why can’t cyclists share the road and contribute E50 a year on Road Tax for the upkeep of the roads.
I know it's like they cant build one now ever because those pesky bikes got a small strip of tarmac to use 😢 the railway no one was planning on building is basically impossible now even if anyone anywhere expressed interest in bother to do so. it's outrageous Ted
@@finavara2010 Apparebtly irish rail said that the corridor is wide enough to build the tracks back in there side by side with the greenway. So the greenway didn't take that option away :)
What a waste of money. But maybe it will stop cyclist riding on the pavement. And those idiots who cycle and are supposed to be training but ride 2/3 abreast holding up traffic. Absolute disregard for anyone but themselves.
It's easier to overtake bikes that are side by side than behind esch other. Longer way to overtake etc. Plus you need to keep 1.5 m away from them anyways. So just overtake them like they are a car and all is well. :)
@@Glenrsi Yea but some people just want to get out on a ride with friends and habe fun, you know? Cycling ist not only about the exercise. I personally cycle multiple times a week for my fitness & keeping a clear head. But try to be as accomodating to cars as possible - but as a car driver myself I can definitely say: There are more intolerant car drivers than cyclists on the streets. The amount of cars that pass me with 10cm distance while barreling down towars kncoming traffic is insane. So I understand if groups of cyclists want to be a bigger object on the road to not get run over. And in many places it is actually recommended to drive as a pack side by side. So I think we all need to relax. Both cyclists & motorists and just get along together. I'll keep waving through cars behind me if I can see around a corner and I hope modt other cyclists will do the same.
Fantastic, can't wait for it to open! 🎉
Nice one! 👍 @DroneHawk, maybe do a video (time lapse?) of the whole Youghal-Midleton Greenway some day?
Ya , will do one , but I'll wait till they finish Youghal station .
Irish climate is perfect for greenways.
Inching.... Quite literally.... 😂
The line should have been kept for future rail development .
They can build beside it if needed

Looks like the line from Middleton to Youghal will not be restored now.
No never . Be cheaper and easier to construct a whole new route
@@dronehawkAre you now in winter sleeping.....?Update on anything.
👍👍
Why not turn the old station in Youghal into a restaurant?
I might be wrong but I think I heard that it's structurally unsound due to subsidence
So sad, there's zero vision when it comes to rail in this country, especially in Cork.

Some waste of a future reopening of the train line..

@@tr3c00l91 : Good point. But when we used to train we trained, had a serious workout and not ride side by side chatting.
fairly sure its other cars that hold up traffic flow the most
