It's great to see lines being reopened. A shame I will never get to travel on it (I have cancer), but I look forward to watching the trains on UA-cam. And thank you for a very professional video.
Sorry to hear that . Don't think anyone will get to ride these rails soon being freight only . Do my best to bring footage of the first trains for you to see when it happens
Best wishes, hope you recover.
Very professional production. Thanks for update and for inserting captions identifying landmarks, really helpful for those of us not familiar with the geography of the area. Please do update again if possible in the coming months. Great job!!
Great job DroneHawk. You deserve a spin on the first freight train to run on the line when its all done.
Would'nt say no to that Paul
Great update. I am sure they will get the line open this year. All the best for 2025.
As always, fantastic footage and great updates .fantastic to see a line that was closed given new life again....hopefully, our new incoming government will continue to reopen the rest of our closed railways 🛤
Great quality video as usual, track is looking great, looking forward to completion 👏👏
Great to see a new update! I live near Ballingrane station and often went to Foynes regatta on the train. Lovely to see it return
Great project to work on nice to see it coming together great footage 👍
Great way to start the year! Keep it going and thanks
Thank Christ its not a "greenway"! well done to all involved. 👏🏻
Great footage to start the new year on ! Keep up the good work.
Great video can hardly wait to see more It's really amazing what Irish Rail has already achieved
SISK deserve the main credit . They are the main contractor overseeing the building of the railway and the three motorway overpasses .
@@dronehawk What's SISIK stand for?
Looks like we getting good start of revisiting the past by reopening the railway!
Brilliant video and editing work.
Thanks for the update as always!
Your welcome
Brilliant …. . Thanks for update. Any views if the limerick to adare section would be used to transport Ryder cup 2027 attendees. Would be great if RPSI could provide a steam hauled service if financially viable.
@@nigelbarlow3506 I'll try to do the Adare to Limerick section soon but these videos take a huge amount of time to do.
Happy new year 🥳 Great footage as always and it’s looking 👀 good 👍🏻 Hopefully it’ll be used to its full potential and grow the rail freight sector in Ireland 🇮🇪🤔 Its sad that road haulage is cheap and plentiful 😢 But in time rail will win over I’m sure 🤩🏴
It’s always nice to see so much progress with a railway coming back from extinction to a proper railway once again.
I’ve noticed that while you’re company is slowly rebuilding the railway, it seems there’s still a lot of obsolete railway equipment still surrounding some of the stations, I hope that you’re going to include that in the railway updates?
I'm not affiliated to Irish Rail or Sisk and not paid by anyone to make these updates , so cant say for sure what plans they have for the stations and other Infrastructure . I'll do my best to keep ye informed as much as I can if time allows. Thanks for watching
Fantastic, great skill in everything with the production of this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent video as always., well done
I can’t wait for this line to reopen.
Interesting and well-made. A map would have helped those less familiar with area.
Freight only which pretty much sums up the skill of the Irish government.
Great to see this work! Pity same didn’t happen on Youghal line 🤷🏻♂️
This project will be done in two years , Youghal greenway took 6 , go figure
@@dronehawkpolitical will I’m guessing 🤷🏻♂️Youghal poorly represented by Cllrs
Thank you. Astonishingly high quality film. And fascinating to follow the route. Any chance that you might be able to do a similar job on the Burma Road from Claremorris up towards Sligo? Before that line too is relaid?. In any event, top marks for this wonderful footage.
I'm hoping to do the WRC line sometime this year , but it's a long way from Cork
Great news! Thank you.
Excellent Footage!😃.
Great video and thank you for sharing. If you don’t mind me asking on what day was this footage taken?
Not sure , some time over the Christmas
@ Thanks, I was just asking as I’m pretty sure I spotted my car driving by at one stage (most likely on the 27th or possibly the 30th of Dec).
@@colinheaphey Think it was the 27th , went up when construction crew were off
Ath bhlian Faoi Maise Thu i 2025...agus mile mile maith agat a chara........💯🎊🎇🎊🍾⭐🎈🥳🎉🎆
what freight are they going to put on the train to Foynes as Foynes is bulk port
Bulk animal feed and grain will be the primary traffic. They may use the port for Tara mines traffic also.
I wonder if irish rail will run a passenger train on it when it opens for enthusiasts and such to have a look at it, especially those who were responsible for getting it done
Its something i can see them doing and either way i look forward to its completion
Don't see any reason why not on a quiet Sunday
NO
Its EU policy to get more freight off the roads
When is it supposed to open?
Could be ready Q3 this year
When will passengers be able to travel?
Unknown , Its being built as a freight only line , but pressure to provide a passenger service is already growing , so we'll have to wait and see
Is it private investment paying for this, also believe only for freight only, surely they should put all the double track back, the only reason I mentioned it is here in Scotland they only laid single track for the"Tweedbank" line and has been a big mistake and using 20/35 DMUs
Its State funded and yes for now it is Freight only , though that could be revisited down the line if you pardon the pun . Putting in double track was never a option as the line was originally single track and hence planning was accelerated due to the fact they were replacing like with like .Secondly the N69 Overpass and 3 single width viaducts would also have prevented double tracking . Third the line traffic will probably not justify a second track and passing loops will suffice
Should Bring Back all the old railway lines throughout ireland take much of the traffic of the road s way less accidents. GREENWAY IS A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY
isnt europe development money lovely such a pity englandshire gave up the chance for such support.
Yes and , HS2 ,like the childrens hospital here , is just a endless money pit
Some waste of money it won't be used
Will there b a passenger service or will it b another white elephant in the west like the limerick to athhenry line...investment in navan line should b a priority 🤔
The passenger numbers on the "white elephant" from Limerick to Athenry are quite impressive.
Good chance that Tara Mines Traffic will use this line for exporting of ore
It’s another useless government project, no passengers.
@@dronehawk Especially with Dublin Port kicking Irish Rail out of the area around Alexandra Road - North Wall is being rebuilt to work around it.
The ‘white elephant’ Limerick-Galway service is now at capacity according to the IÉ chief executive, next steps are platform lengthening and significant increase in capacity. It’s not only the greater Dublin region that needs rail investment. The cost of the Navan line, while clearly required, is seriously questionable and will cause issues in getting approval.
