I think probably one of the most important features not listed or talked about is just how CLEAN those irons are. Super thin front post and crazy open rear sight make it a dream to aim.
But i mean the mosin also has incredible iron sights
@@modernwarhero8447 the comparison i think is closer to the Sparks in my opinion. i'm not much of a fan of the Mosin's sights and the Mako has only a 7m/s increase on velocity over the Sparks. the Sparks also holds my now second favorite iron sights in the game cause of the open rear sight. the only issue i have with it is the fatter front sight blade on the Sparks.

I get the feeling if you like this gun you're gunna REALLY like this gun. It sounds great, it has a nice sight and those are both big positives in my book. Very excited to get my hands on it and give it a go.
This gun feels like a good entry level gun into the other long ammo rifles like mosin and lebel. It's mechanically uncomplicated, familiar feeling to anyone used to the winny, and lacking spitzer means better bodyshot damage. As a winny gang supporter I like this gun😅

Okay, I tested out the Mako and yes, somehow going Mako> Quick Swap into XYZ doesnt work. However, side weapon (Uppercut) can quick swap into Mako just fine. Bug maybe??
Also Mako levering is a must imo it does away a bit with the clunkyness not because of levering itself but because the gun behaves more responsive- you would have to play the gun to get what I mean. Like ADS is slow asf but quickscoping on Mako is filthy when Levering is on
The levering is more like a shotgun, like a Terminus but more accurate/faster?? Something like that.
The aperture on Mako is filthy good. Like gawdam 👀 Arguably the best in the Aperture trio.

Finally unlocked this gun the other day, and it has definitely become one of my favorite long ammo rifles. Its performance isn't anything special on its own, but those lever gun iron sights truly make it a force of raw destruction.
Hitting those back to back double taps with the follow-ups being wall bangs was the shit
The Mako's slow swap speed is s bug, I reported it to crytek and they confirmed that they will fix it. (Probably at next event in 3 months)
They also buffed jump shooting this update and it is pretty effective up to 20m
Haven't seen anyone mention this is the only lever gun (other than terminus) to not obstruct the sight picture when the hammer drops. Not an advantage over the mosin but still pretty cool
I think you should also consider the fact that it doesn't lose ammo on partial reloading compared to other long ammo rifles

What do you mean by the cycle time only working with Iron Eye?
the sights are dope though. It would be silly but adding a speed loader version or giving it explosive so we could lever it would be pretty fun and unique.

I've been memeing with the explosive ammo on it with levering and have actually gotten kills with in situations where without the boom I wouldn't have cause the spread is so wide the rounds hit the floor by their feet then I get a single bodyshot

The gun benefits from levering. Definitely more well-rounded than most other long-ammo rifles.
Levering is really inaccurate on it. The selling point are the aesthetics, the lower price compared to other long ammo bolt-action rifles and the sights imo.
@@maxmalten7749 It had better be inaccurate! We don't want QCQ weapons invalidated by rifles; especially long-ammo rifles.
That said, it still has levering: a tool that can kill up close rather easily. Even if it is inaccurate, it just means "get closer." You could consider it a more powerful bayonet (in pvp) especially against an already wounded target.
Also, it has excellent sights, which you mentioned. This is a big deal.
It also has explosive ammo, which had a massive headshot range buff, and an AoE size buff.
Also it's like 350ish gold.

What's the point of switching from a repeating rifle to a pistol? For the sake of 0.1 ms you lose sight of the aim and greatly increase the chance of missing, no?
The slow swap speed definitely makes it feel a bit clunky but otherwise I like it.
What made you bring uppercut with AP ammo? isn't the standard long enough?

I've found with hunt, I care more about the Iron Sight and being able to use the gun more than the small things. Like that's my issue with the centy I never use that thing cause I can't stand its iron sight, but stat wise with dumdum its an insane close/medium weapon and high vel on the sniper variant is bonkers, it literally has the same speed as spitzer rounds on a mosin or lebel.
it is too loud i was confusing with nitro. damage is too much for that good ironsight
I feel like the Mako kinda sucks with Iron Eye just because it's still a fairly slow cycle time, and the animation throws off your aim IMO since the sight moves so much. So, when you have an animation like that that might make you miss (at least until you get used to it maybe), that slower cycle time really screws up follow shots.

It's alright, def a slow clunky weapon tho. Could use a buff, but it's pretty hard to balance out weapons without people saying "its similar" or "its like". They wanna create a unique weapon.

The mako feels very clunky and slow with little ammo. I'd rather take centennial
The whole point of a lever action rifle is that it's supposed to significantly faster than a bolt action, and a pump action faster than a lever action, still. It always irked me watching the animations in this game where the character haphazardly and slowly cycles the action on a lever action. There really doesn't seem to be much "weight" to it. Plus, the perspective of the reloading of the Uppermat is just bizarre. It's like the character is holding the weapon 2 inches from their face when they reload the weapon.
To be completely fair the mosin is the most over tuned gun in hunt and still needs a stat nerf desperately.

for context, the hunt store stats are a complete lie, timing the mako's cycle time, its about 1.3 seconds (1.18 with iron eye ) where the mosin is about 1.78 seconds (1.48 with iron eye) almost half a second of cycle time traitless is absolutely a boon, and about 0.3 seconds with a trait is still good, I'm not even trying to argue if its better or not, I'm mainly just saying this to say don't trust the store stats
The Mosin doesn't have an aperture sight, though. We get it, the Mosin is the queen gay of all the long ammo guns. It's boring to use, as it's the safe option for all the CoD kiddies who need hitscan projectiles to do well in FpS videogames. As for me, the moment I unlock the aperture sights and FMJ, I'm going to be using this gun a LOT, both for the clean aperture sights AND the challenge of hitting folks running at far distances with a MV of only 405(8? Idr.) This will probably be the only long amo gun I use, and that'll only be when I want top use aperture sights, otherwise I'll do my normal stuff of sticking with the springfield bayonet with dumdums, or the drilling, also with dumdums, or the specter with flechettes
