This is what I love about this Peugeot. They didn't make a special ugly version just for EV like most car brands. So this is basically the best looking EV out there.
Stunning looking car but i have to agreed with other comments made, who will buy such an expensive car when it doesnt go as far, offers less space and is slower?
One suggestion: Perhaps consider dropping the background music during the main review portion of the videos. It makes it a lot harder to hear what's being said
I can see this and the Astra being heavily discounted from day one. I want to see Bjørn Nyland do a proper range test first to prove if those efficiency figures are real or utter BS.
You are entitled to your own opinion but I think you are wrong. Peugeot have really levelled up big time and now make top cars. I rented one in July in Italy, my wife and I were very, very impressed. We plan to buy the brand new e3008.
I disagree with you on the interior, this car has an expensive interior than those electric cars you mentioned, Most of those electric cars are built to look stupid.. I'm with Peugeot on this one
I think the range is enough. Happily drive long distance in an ID3 with similar WLTP. I like the battery size and efficiency point. The power is a bit disappointing though and it'll obviously only be good value with a big discount. The e308sw is the one that's really interesting.
Recently hired a Petrol 308 and was very impressed. Build quality is Audi/BMW never mind VW! - This electric version on the face of it is very expensive for what it is - But spotted a lease deal for £178 per month. Thats the sort of thing that will sell these cars. Forget the meaningless "list price"
Why should an electric car be different and weird… ? Why? Majority people I know are tired of those weird stupid cheap minimalistic interiors which come with a por quality as bonus. This is how a car should look like… a car. Compare a 308 to an MG please…. And last there is no need for 300 or 400 horse power to ride comfortably with a family. I just agree the price is a bit to high.
With most people ‘buying’ cars with some form of finance, the manufacturers (and in turn, journalists) need to be reporting the monthly payment cost. This might be £40k, but if Peugeot (and any others) are willing suck up the bulk into the balloon payment, it might be more appealing…
The retail prices are also just priced to keep equivalent petrol and hybrid sales up. After the initial launch, prices will drop to reflect the market value. If the EV versions were priced realistically, petrol sales would fall off a cliff.
Yes - a standard business lease comparison across all cars would be good as well (e.g. 8k miles, 3 years), often see cars with similar RRP getting very different business lease quotes
It seems a pretty nice car, but selling it for the same price as a Tesla M3 is madness. It needed to be about £10,000 less, or failing that a bit less than a Renault Megane Etech.
Holy cow that's an expensive way to not go very far quite slowly. About 8K overpriced I reckon and will be buried by the competition from the far east. Shame as its a nice looking car.
The climate control isn’t, in reality, confusing. There’s no temperature knob, but the screen button to adjust it is MASSIVE. Or you can press a button on the steering wheel and say “ increase temperature”
and a lot heavier, too... one thing in the e-308's favour is the relatively low weight compared to its rivals. But - obviously there are other trade-offs.
Yes they will because they don't play according to market economy rules. Subsidies left and right based on volume and not real demand. Labor costs kept artificially low....
Not sure. Chinese EV prices are not so cheap when the cars actually hit UK retailers. BYD prices are around 3x what they are sold for in China for example.
@@decimal1815 well, the EU has initiated an anti-dumping investigation on cars from China, and they don't start these if they don't have enough initial evidence for that.

I’ve got the plug-in Hybrid 308. Looking at the finer details of this, I think I’ve gotten the best of both. It’s a beautiful car, inside and out. It really is a lovely build quality. Only the iffy infotainment system seems to be the real downside.
Forty thousand pounds for a Peugeot 308 ? At that price I'd rather keep my cash in the bank than waste it on that. If I need a car I'll buy something for a fraction of the price.
Personally, I think it's a great car as a whole. Also, I'd rather support European developed and build cars than go for the short-term gain and buy a chinese EV (even if many of them are really good) but dismantle the european auto industry and thus the general economy. There are good developments taking place to develop and build EVs in Europe (even batteries), therefore I'd buy a Peugeot or Opel/Vauxhall Astra before an MG. Let's remember that MG is fully chinese, not british at all anymore.

We've been conned by the government and manufacturers. The EVs are way too expensive, costs more to finance and insure, eats tyres and we're going to have a huge headache trying to recycle all the batteries and electronics at their end of life.
If you are willing to spend that kind of money just go for a model 3. There is nothing exciting about this car. The MG4 is still the best value car that's also fun to drive and faster and this is not going to change any time soon. Also look out for the volvo EX30 in a few months starting from 37500 euros here.
