If you’re need an estate care, you’re probably going to be happy with a plodder. Either for work or for tripping with the whole family. Is it rated to tow and if so, what are the limits, in-braked & braked?
I have an e208 as a company car which is great for a second car. I’m thinking next year I’ll get a family EV and the e308 looks a very nice car. However, I have to echo your thoughts Bryan, it’s just too expensive to consider, unless my company get massive discounts (which they may). I do know though that an e208 is now very expensive on my company lease scheme, more than a Model 3 (yes really), so my guess is the e308 will be priced out of consideration for me.
I have the PHEV 225 GT Premium, which should have come with 3D dash and wireless charger but because of Supply Chain issues, I was paid for the missing items, though the dealer fitted the wireless pad later on. Mine has a sunroof and a powered seat which reverses when I get in and out of the car. Mine does have all the toys, 360 camera, powered boot, heated and massage seats. 0-60 in 7.6 secs so not slow slow. They stopped the Premuim models because of the Supply Chain issues I recon. I also paid less than the allure price you mention too.
Looks good internal set is good but as you say why no wireless charging and an electric with no cable storage, why. Range is poor and why the false exhaust. Not too impressed overall.
This car inside and out is the best looking estate there is so yes it has a premium. You wsnt to play you have to pay. Sure there are faster ones yadda yadda. But thats not what this car is about.Skoda absolutely boring and a money pit VAG car.BMW,Audi faster but uglier inside and out and again reliability wise money pits.Only Benz has a somewhat similarly stylish estate but the 308 still looks better outside and especially inside.S long as you are over your boy racer phase in life this car is superb
My fondness for Peugeot is rapidly evaporating, In inverse proportion to price increases. Be interesting to see what dealers do as who cares what Peugeot `want`?
look at the rear hatch opening, can it be any smaller? on my 306break i could put a baby stroller on its side. are they making cars unusable on purpose? only people that can afford passat variant can have kids in EU?
MG5 isn't a competitor except showing up in the same search category on autotrader. It's so tiny in the back it might as well be a hatchback. There is hopefully still the enormous Stellantis discounts from new. Would hope when VED starts not to fall afoul of the premium uplift. Might be reasonable in a few years used.
Sorry that disingenuous, the MG5 is a properly priced family estate, this is overpriced. Stellantis is notorious for getting their pricing wrong and discounting down the line. If this was £6-8k less expensive, had a better performance, and actually had a decent range , then it could compete. But on performance, range and price it's an overpriced large slow box, not a competitive EV Estate.
What nonsense. MG5 is absolutely a competitor. They have pros and cons as you point out, the MG is more affordable, the Peugeot has a larger boot, etc.
@bellshooter @ronrubble if the con is the by far main reason you'd even buy one, there is no competition. Just because the Stellantis pair are much too expensive and aren't great at being EV's, doesn't mean they're not infinitely better estates than the MG5 or the Taycan.
I do agree somewhat. I’ve looked at the MG5 and it’s just not big enough for our needs, with 2 large dogs, camping gear and bikes. The e308 would be okay but I wouldn’t go near it new. Expect these to be £20-£23k in a years time, now that might be more tempting, but the range is poor too. It’s a no from me.
Good test, sympathetic presentation. For those who think they can hang a trailer behind it: towing weight is zero. Another good reason to look forward to another car. Peugeot has completely lost its way with its price policy. The car looks nice, but my money is not ugly either.
What a pity Renault aren’t doing a Megane Estate; it would cover all the shortcomings of this pretty dreary offering. I think the Megane is way better looking as well.
@@chriswiser9976 - looks are subjective, I think Peugeots look vulgar - but you can’t get away from the fact that all Stellantis offerings are on compromised ice chassis whereas the Renault is on a proper dedicated ev platform, hence all the good reviews.
@@Petelmrg Vulgar? Lmfao, you just outed yourself as having zero taste in auto design,Renault is bland and boring and a struggling brand, why because they make ugly boring cars.Good reviews? The 308 gets far better reviews than any Renault product... you're delusional sorry
Yeah, right. After the massive scam VW pulled on its diesel customers and its refusal to do the right thing for them, you'd have to be a sucker to voluntarily give those criminals your hard earned money. They will never get another penny from me. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."
You lost me at no storage for cables.. smacks of laziness and or a shortcoming that engineers couldnt or wouldn’t overcome. Disappointing car. But good review

We can only report on what we are given from the manufacturer in these first views. Until we drive it, we can then give a proper verdict on the car and how it is. When we drive it, we will tell it like it is and give a full opinion, good or bad!
Unaceptable! 2024 and under the excuse of cost cutting there making these cars on ICE platforms. But its not schowing in the endprice !! And then ofcourse this car fails with battery size 50kW in a workhorse/estate... Back to the drawing board and bring a usefull ev Good review but hate converted cars in 2024
Station Wagon is the Australian name for this type of car .
As well as the Canadian name…and, I’m guessing what it’s called in the States.

Is it a full glove box, or a peugeot special half box with a bulky fuse panel taking up the room?
Great review, hit the nail on the head, performance , range and price are the issues.

Good review, nice estate......but pricey!
One word, Octavia!
This size of car should have at least a 64kwh battery.
Another Excellent Review. A good-looking car but this car appears to be average in many areas to command such a price.

Cars are just so expensive these days.. for this price you want more equipment. Manufacturers are taking the proverbial
