Mate, I admire how you can take a theme that's only a few seconds long in the original video and extrapolate it into a full orchestral piece. You did it with Boco's theme too. It's fantastic.
For some reason, looking at the video of Gordon in he middle but also focusing on the contrabass clarinet and the flutes going insane made it really creepy. It sounds great
As a kid, I loved watching that scene of James spinning around and around on the turntable like a top, and then slowing down until you can see his eyes rolling around rapidly before he backs into the shed all tuckered out.
I think the best way to describe this theme is "the theme of uncomfortable situations" - seriously, no engine ever looks comfortable when they're on the turntable XD It's an easy theme to overlook, but just like Cranky's theme, you've created a very fun and catchy extension of it. I love how this one progressively gets faster, and then goes insane in the last few seconds! XD
I've especially wanted to mention that I personally love your own official version of the turntable theme from the show's very own complete classic era's entire 1st season during a total of exactly 3 episodes titled Thomas Gets Tricked followed by Tenders & Turntables followed by Gordon Takes a Dip featured on my fire stick!
2:40 I've especially wanted to mention that I personally heard this exact same theme for the turntable during the montage of Thomas the Tank Engine taking on more H2O directly over @ the river near Elsbridge Station when the official water collum was basically considered to be exactly-DARE I SAY IT-out of order in the show's very own complete classic era in the official 1st season in the episode titled Thomas Goes Fishing straight from the Railway Series book titled Tank Engine Thomas Again written by the famously very much considerably 100% well-known Rev W Awdry himself!
Luke, you have really captured the essence of this music! I love the "temporal" feel, the slow accelerando, and the long build to the loss of control at the very end. Love this one!
2:40 I've especially wanted to mention that I personally learned from watching my DVD titled the Best of World Steam that turntables were obviously a bit of a rarity in China with railroad turning Ys being much more common as mentioned by Peter Fairhead himself!
Ooh love the bass (sound overall) kind of paralleling the main theme. And taking the key change variant from tenders & turntables as a way to keep it interesting
As always, a very nice job. I was also remembering some of the quotes that accompanied this wonderful theme: "Next, he went onto a turntable, thinking of everyone laughing at him." "'I mustn't stick,' thought James. He stopped on just the right place to balance the table. It could now swing easily. Gordon arrived in time to see everything." "Gordon was cross and didn't care what he did. He waited 'til the table was halfway round. 'I'll show them, I'll show them,' he hissed."
This theme being made makes me excited to see more future themes from rare situations! We may see themes like the Thomas & The Trucks' danger theme or the music that plays from City of Truro's visit, the uncertainty of what's gonna happen next is so exciting!!
What a fun piece. I like how you tease the upcoming tempo change at 0:38 before dropping back to the original key. The contrabass clarinet melody you developed fits the piece nicely; you're already getting some great mileage out of that instrument! Now, if only this could become the new "Premiere" piece for when you release new videos. It certainly has that countdown element. ;)
I love how this theme got extended! It should probably be used for a slow and long turntable, too. I hope there is a ‘Thomas and the Trucks’ theme coming soon.
I remember you saying filming the runaway theme was a struggle since it's so fast, I can only imagine what this was like. Amazing job! So energetic and fun! 🥴
I remember the theme and you captured it very well. The contrabass is something else, you certainly feel it deep especially with headphones. Love it. Well done Luke.
Omg this theme is everything i would hum this all day when i was younger. I still do and thank you for doing these themes from Thomas the tank engine series xxxx
I was soon struck by the fact that you have used the high-pitched instruments for the rhythm and given the melodic part to the contrabass clarinet, doing the exact opposite of what composers generally do. A strange theme indeed, but, as always, very well thought of. Good job!
This video came out at the perfect time, the sort of dizzying idea of this theme was exactly what I needed for one of my own videos. I'll reply with a link when it finishes uploading and maybe you could tell me if you think the utilization really makes sense (your credits were given a designated spot in my description to make sure that viewers find you!)
Thomas was uncoupled and he felt very silly and exhausted. Next he went on to a turntable, thinking of everyone laughing at him. He then went onto a siding out of the way. "Well little Thomas," chuckled Gordon. "Now you know what hard work means, don't you." Poor Thomas didn't answer. He had no breath, he just puffed slowly away to rest, and had a long long drink.
This is so cool, i like how goes more and more fast, and the ending was just crazy xD, i would be pleased to see an extended version of the bad weather theme from edward's exploit :D
I remember at the end of the James spinning on the turntable scene I saw his face turn a bit green and it scared be so much, not sure why, but great cover
another amazing work this is such a fun tune to listen to keep up the amazing work also do you think you might do annie and clarabells theme soon and also bill and bens theme on when they first met boco?
I love the way at 2:29 how the pitch goes up and it zooms in on James smiling like it’s just making fun of how stupid he’s about to look in that scene 😂😂😂 smart videography there
Thomas was uncoupled and he felt very silly and exhausted. Next he went on to the turntable thinking of everyone laughing at him then he ran on to a siding out of the way
I can’t wait for Thomas’ Turntable Theme, Luke! Also, do you think you can make some musical theme of Jack and the Sodor Construction Crew; with Jack the Front Loader, Alfie the Excavator, Oliver the Old Excavator, Max & Monty the Dump Trucks, Byron the Bulldozer, Ned the Steam Shovel, Kelly the Crane, Buster the Steamroller, Patrick the Cement Mixer, Nelson the Transporter Truck, and Isobella the Flatbed Truck? Poor Thomas couldn't answer he had no breath he puffed slowly away to rest and have a long long drink. Maybe I don't have to tease Gordon to feel important Thomas thought to himself and he puffed slowly home.
Love your music as always I've always loved the turntable theme as a kid and still to this day. Hey can you do the Chinese dragon theme from Thomas Percy and the dragon? That would be awesome love your content always awesome
I'm Convinced That You We're Subtly Trying To Make A Classical Trap Beat Without Making A Trap Beat 🤣. Got Me Bumping My Head Over Here Like It's A Beat
As if 268 comments wasn't enough, here's a 269th saying this is probably my favorite of your music videos, along with The Flying Kipper, Breakdown Train and the Diseasel.
i love how the desc says "It was also a great opportunity to use the smallest (Eb clarinet) and LARGEST (contrabass) clarinet in one theme 😂" i just copy and pasted that lol
Mate, I admire how you can take a theme that's only a few seconds long in the original video and extrapolate it into a full orchestral piece. You did it with Boco's theme too. It's fantastic.
thanks wild I appreciate it!
@Bathlaham (NO LONGER ACTIVE) What is wrong with you.
your work is exellent luke
@bathlahamfederation1958like he said. What is wrong with you.
For some reason, looking at the video of Gordon in he middle but also focusing on the contrabass clarinet and the flutes going insane made it really creepy.
It sounds great

Thanks Douglas! It was also uncomfortable to record 🤣
If the engines were people, they would be tapping their feet
Wasn’t expecting this one! One theme I’d love to see you do is the danger theme from Stepney Gets Lost
That would be a great theme for Halloween. Same with Boulder’s theme
@@SodorEnginesFanatic Haunted Henry and Toby and the Flood are also themes I would like to hear him cover.
Especially in Thomas Goes Fishing when he got fish in his own official short stumpy boiler usin' an official worn-down bucket with 5 holes in it!
But, nonetheless, great work as usual!
That last part of Jame's eyes spinning scared me. You got me there. 😅😅

thank you am!
@@InstrumentManiac What if you made every Thomas theme you made with different music from different countries?
2:40 I've especially wanted to mention that I personally learned from watching my DVD titled the Best of World Steam that turntables were obviously a bit of a rarity in China with railroad turning Ys being much more common as mentioned by Peter Fairhead himself!
Ooh love the bass (sound overall) kind of paralleling the main theme. And taking the key change variant from tenders & turntables as a way to keep it interesting
thanks Samu!
See now, this is a theme from the show I didn’t know I wanted to hear.
I’m hyped now!!

Great ear Nick for hear that! Haha right!? The instant we can do custom premiere themes I might have to switch to this 🤣
The ending was quite the jump scare great work
This theme had amazing twist especially at the end when James is spinning his eyes.
I think it's so cool how you took a twenty second song and turned it into something really cool
thanks!
@@InstrumentManiac you’re welcome
Great sound on Contrabass Clarinet and love the contrast with the Eb!
Thanks a lot Michael!
I love how this theme got extended! It should probably be used for a slow and long turntable, too. I hope there is a ‘Thomas and the Trucks’ theme coming soon.
It's on the list!
I really like the articulated themes such as Terrace, Breakdown Train, and now the Turntable Theme. Just beautiful. Great job!
Dang that Contrabass Clarinet is big!
I love this! I wonder how well the danger theme from the episode 'Toby and the flood ' would work
I love this! Great how you sped it up and made it even more dramatic! Love the twist at the end - poor James! Well done 👏
What? You're still alive after playing the Contrabass Clarient that fast and for that long? Wow. Props.
🤣🤣🤣
the ending of the theme was crazy incredible.
I remember you saying filming the runaway theme was a struggle since it's so fast, I can only imagine what this was like. Amazing job! So energetic and fun! 🥴
Haha this one was a challenge too - thanks JL!
Awww, one of my favorites! I used to sing this in the car with my dad when the turn signal was on. :P
Incredible! Few days before my birthday too!!
Happy early birthday!
FIZZLIN' FIREBOXES & WOWSERS, WHAT A SPECTACULARLY SPECTACULAR PERFORMANCE FOR SURE!
Nice! I’d love to see the danger theme next! I think it’d be quite interesting!
I can't wait for turntable theme
Thanks for featuring the contrabass clarinet. This instrument has such a deep and magical quality that is a rare treat to experience.
Excellent theme!

Thanks David! Headphones are a must with that beast

Haha yes exactly! Solos on bass instruments are tricky to work around and generally it's the inverse of the "normal" way of doing things

Hi Luke. I’m getting ready for this one.
So weird. Just thought of this and it happened to be premiering. Can’t wait.
That was just what I expected! So fun and silly~ Great work as always

Finally! The Turntable theme! I say, it was amazing, I like how it starts to get crazy! You did a really great job!
dude this one was so cool!! I can only imagine how technically difficult that accelerando was to pull off 😂
Played this in my car while I was in traffic, and it suited my situation too well 😂
Well done with the turntable theme from the series mate and you were playing so quickly
I cant wait for theme collection #5
Thank you Luke. That was awesome.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Im exited!!!!
That was pretty awesome! Fab work!
Omg I friggin love this.
Excited! You never disappoint 🥰
That spooky Turn Table 😂
I can't wait for this theme
I want to see henry's forest theme
🎼Silly old Gordon fell in a ditch, fell in a ditch, fell in a ditch, Silly old Gordon fell in ditch all on a Monday morning🎶
Gordon lay in the ditch all day. “Oh dear. I shall never get out.”

That's a great one!
AMAZINGLY WONDERFULLY MARVELOUSLY BRILLIANTLY GREAT!
Ending sure hit me by suprise- thought it was going to be that small theme when James backs into the shed...ah well, maybe next time. Good work btw
That would have been another great way to close it out!
2:00 Is were it all goes off the rails.
That theme is wild.
amazing work as always!
Great video 2x👍
Pleasantly surprised to see this will be the next one :D looking forward to it!

it is a true masterpiece
Interesting rendition
He started to spin around like a top, he couldn't stop
Lmfao I really love this one even when James was spinning around on the turntable
The wind puffed him round like a top, he couldn't stop!
Amazing job
Oh cool the turntable theme
This is so cool when James is really dizzy.
another amazing work this is such a fun tune to listen to keep up the amazing work
also do you think you might do annie and clarabells theme soon and also bill and bens theme on when they first met boco?

Never actually realised that the theme of Thomas on the turntable was just a slowed one of James on the turntable. I mean it makes sense but still
