I was on this exact trade too the second I saw the live TV pictures. The drift was bigger than I anticipated though and my exit point could have been more aggressive but always good to capture a trade like that.
It's very hard to be perfect, so I often scale out a trade and leave a little bit in there for to catch a bigger trade.
Thanks Peter. This answers some of the points I was trying to get across on the last video I commented on. That thought process that goes into deciding whether or not to open a trade is the kind of thing I was looking for.
Y, your comment got highjacked a bit on that last video. I know what you meant.
When I commented on this last week I thought it may be a good example.
I caught this too. :). Great video as always.
Well done; spotting an opportunity is a good thing. Doing something about it entirely another.
Thanks for sharing you knowledge Peter with us.
You're welcome.
Peter, I would love to see how you look at a race card, race type, distance, prize money, grade, meeting, day of the week, jockeys, owners, trainers etc.
To see what you look for and what you see would be really interesting and help a lot of traders.
Thanks as always
One problem with this is that it's different for each trader. What works for me, may not work for you as our approach and tolerance to risk can be very different.
Crikey, assessing 10 - 15 parameters is highly impressive, I've all on with my 3, well done.
I've just added more over time. It always makes sense to start with something simple.
Peter do you explain in more detail in other videos or within your courses more on what you mentioned on how to judge the characteristics of different races i.e a race with a shorter priced favourite or a competitive Handicap? Thank you.
There are a few videos with specifics on pricing and market types. I really need to get them into a playlist.
Love the title of near perfect , as if its near perfect it means your predictions and insight is perfect . something being perfect i have my suspicions as it could be a fluke .
Indeed
Thanks for this Peter. What live feed do you use to watch paddock behaviour apart from the Betfair feed?
I use live video from the dedicated racing channels. They are a bit slow but often show the paddock, but TPD data is invaluable in spotting these sorts of things.
Another excellent video
Thank you, comments like that make it worthwhile.
Hi Peter, do you ever do any 1 to 1 mentoring or small courses where you educate people on the basics? I love these videos but I'm someone who prefers more structure if that makes any sense.
Thanks.
I have done them in the past, but not now, as I no longer have any capacity. So, I'm focusing on online content. Planning on updating a lot of content during the quieter winter period.
@@betangeltv thank you for the response and I look forward to it.
Great video Peter, A bit off topic but what book would you suggest to a beginner trader that you think would really be of help? And have you ever thought about writing a book on Betfair trading?
I have written a book, but it has never been published. I wrote a lot of content for the courses I would present, but it would need a lot of time to make it into a formal book. I just haven't had the time to do that yet.
@@betangeltvthanks Peter for your reply. Thanks for all the time and effort you make to produce your videos.I really appreciate everything you do!
hey pete where do you post or comment on particular trades?
Generally on twitter as it's something more immediate
Good video - thanks - not trading _is_ trading?

The jockey did well.
It's impressive how well the jockeys do on some of these horses.
Hi, would you be able to help with a guide of a good check list?
It will be different for every person, but maybe I can do a starter version with some basics.
