Thanks so much for this channel and this video specifically. I had one full day to hunt around in Tokyo for games and hardware and this place has so much to offer for a great price. I actually picked up the Virtual On twin sticks for a fraction of the price I was going to pay for them back home($40 here, about $200 for same condition on eBay). I hit up the BookOff Super Bazaar and Hard Off in the area as well and was pleasantly surprised! Thanks again, and looking forward to more content even though I’m leaving Japan today. And don’t forget… Hard Off is your DREAM PLACE!!! 😂
Just went retro hunting myself in Obihiro, this was like in the 4am videos, boxed consoles everywhere. Even had two minty pokemon GBASP in box. I left considerably heavier and with a lighter wallet (but no SOS, they were 1000$each
Finally a new video! Dang, if that Knights of the Round was CIB, it was a steal! Go back and get it! Gun Bullet with the guncon was a great price too! Those games are always a good time! "I don't have the time to play everything, but I want everything" The story of our lives!
I'm glad I found this channel! These videos are fantastic. You have a talent for making the viewer feel like we're hanging out with you on a day of game hunting. Great work. P.s. I'm definitely visiting some of these stores you've shown, next time I visit Japan.
I remember getting the zelda collection for gamecube from the nintendo site with just nintendo-points from other games i bought. Felt like such an great deal!
actually been getting back into saturn collecting I have puzzle bobble 2x coming from Japan! I think my wife bought that deluxe edition of xenoblade (but the US version) yeah it was pretty massive. may eventually get back around to SNES/SFC we'll see how the months go.
I believe the reason that +Expansion Pass games cost more is because the DLC is actually on the cartridge. The issue with Switch games and their DLC is that they require internet to confirm you have the "right" to use the DLC otherwise you get just the base-game. These cartridge +Expansion Pass games don't require the internet check as the DLC is hard coded on the cartridge. I recently bought the BOTW +Expansion Pass physical because I couldn't play the DLC if I was traveling.
Man I keep forgetting PAL regions got a ton of these games lmao, I just can't deal with the 50hz so kind of neglect it, you're right tho it to fall came out in the UK
@@4amLaundry same as me. UK guy, 60hz only. If I have pal it's because it supports 60hz. I am visiting Japan late June for a week. Hopefully weather is nicer than last August it was an oven.
That Zelda collection box was an eye opener for sure, I also didn't know it existed in Japan. As always, I love reliving my adventures through you 4am ❤
Glad I found your channel too! It makes sense that the Zelda collection box came out here as a Club Nintendo exclusive but I remember getting it in Europe as a pre order.
@@4amLaundry yeah. I’m trying to get over my fear of travel and hopping on a plane to come over to Japan to game hunt and sight see. Be awesome to grab all the cool switch games over there.
Woohoo new video I’m the 68 th like 😊 2:55 troublemakers looks cool never seen it till today. The DS CHRONO TRIGGER I heard on another UA-cam channel you can buy the Japanese version and it plays in English too, is it true? I just saw the Zelda promotional box yesterday at the retro store for the GC some guy grabbed it before I seen it 😊 it was $79.99 Canadian. 20:50 oh the Saturn ❤ mine I noticed when I got it from Japan mine has a little cracked area but still works. Switch seems more expensive in Japan lol 😂 I saw that xenoblade collector edition at a retro store and it was like around $120-150 Canadian dollars it’s heavy I took a photo and filmed it for one of my video not sure what video lol, I think there a big book in it.
Troublemakers is called Mischief Makers in the west, it's a fun platformer and one of the few 2D ones on the N64. For Chrono trigger that's true yes! It's why it's expensive even here, the SNES version is super cheap.
@@4amLaundry oh ok yes I think I have that n64 game :) have too see what I have I have a few Japanese n64 games and it’s probably cheap there. I wish I had the box’s but many times no box’s on ebay lol 😂 if u want a lower price. Oh ok great chrono trigger I think u said 30isd usd so ya around 40ish Canadian dollars. Ya it’s still expensive on ebay and it’s probably hard to find it cheap chrono trigger ds.
Hi man! I just discovered your channel very interesting and fun to watch! I am myself a Pokémon Collector I will be in japan in October for two weeks! I was wondering what stores do you recommend to go hunting for rare Pokémon Consoles? I don’t mind spending some good money on it
If you don't mind spending money than your best bet is the Surugaya in this video or other inner city Hard Off/Book Off stores but it's not gonna be cheap, good luck!
Hey man, I arrived in Tokyo yesterday and went to a bunch of stores around Akihabara. However, it was a big dissapointment. I couldn't find almost anything I wanted and what I found was extremely overpriced. I'm looking for GBA's and Super Famicom consoles and boxed games and also some ps1 and ps2 games (such as Rockman X4 X5, Capcom vs Snk 2). Can you throw some good store names and locations for me please? Thanks!
Check out the Surugaya in this video's description. Otherwise I put the locations in most of my videos so the previous ones should have some good tips.
27:36 bruhhhh....... for $645 you'd be on crack to not buy the Radnet Keyboard... they go for $1300 on ebay... you want some cash for games? You go back and buy that... ugh.... this kills me to see..
Stick to online retro deals. Most of the Retro Japanese shops have hiked prices specifically in touristic areas. Tjis Japanese shop owners are ripping customers off.
“I’d rather travel across Japan and find (those exact same) games for less”… I guess that would make any sense if one totally disregards the fact that “travelling across Japan” will definitely cost more than the little money that would theoretically be saved by finding the games cheaper… Also, one’s own time has value. Which none of that is accounted for either. I understand that “thrill of the hunt” idea but at the end of the day, it’s largely a made up thing since if we were to strictly look at the financial side of thing, doing it that way wouldn’t actually be beneficial in any way 😂
It’s gonna really suck when all you have left to collect is the expensive stuff
Also shoutout the thriftbox it cured my ligma

Happy it helped! Forgot to mention in the video that if you're traveling and can only hit up one spot this would be it!

Haha good to hear Hokkaido is also booming! Definitely gotta make it out to the far places too.
"You could call it the Nintendo Power of Japan - but don't!" - still laughing. 🤣
Since this day I've used 4AM sensei's advice and upped my retro non collection 😂😂
Finally a new video!

Love that Zelda dance in the Famicom vid.

As far as collecting goes Japanese Saturn is so good, there's literally TONS of under $10 games and it's a super fun console to play too
Your videos are great. Love the retro game hunting! Lots of obscure titles that I've never heard of before!
Same here I love finding out about new games every time I go out lol
Incredible video!!! In may I go for a month to JAPAN and i can't wait for it!! Big hug from spain

This makes a lot of sense, also I never see them in retail stores anymore just the dlc code vouchers.
Fireman got a UK release.

im a huge switch collector. love seeing all the switch games you showed in this video.
Appreciate it! I gotta get a lot of these while I still can before the prices inevitably go through the roof.

It's super fun! Happen to have found an arcade machine for it last weekend and spent like 2000 yen haha

Mom: "We have MadPanicGaming at home..."
