    I just can't express how much I love his style, it's so unique and intricate yet it remains cohesive unlike a lot of guitarists in Metal who just go balls to the walls for technicality and forget about the musical aspect of their playing.

    GORGUTS!!! this said: for me its nice to use an upstroke as last note of the first bit: d.s - h.o. - d.s - h.o. - tap(m) - p.o - p.o - U.S - (d.s ect)
    to use an upstroke here and have the downstroke at the beginning of a new cycle makes it more intuitive in noodling around and subdividing this shape, to me it gives a clear sense of pulse compared to having a pull off at this point (although the pulloff could give way to some new ideas at that particulair point). Anyways really love the shape s0o easy to play in any 7th chord (or symetric setup) it will get salvaged in my playing.
    Cheers!

    So is the key sweeping the notes that you are playing further up the fret board to position your hand in a manner that allows you to get to that tapped note? Otherwise, it seems like it would be too long of a transition.

    Just wanted to point out to others that: The Major 7 #5 can also be found in Harmonic minor, not just Hungarian minor. in harmonic minor it is known by some as Ionian #5 if you want to think of it that way. (Ie: if you're in a minor and using harmonic minor, you could make Cmajor 7 #5 and it would fit to that. :) I know I'm just some guy, but just thought I'd throw it out there if anyone was confused.

    • @mikescanlan4653

      hungarian minor is a mode of harmonic minor so of course. i believe its just the #7? might be wrong.

    • @beholdthecakola
      @beholdthecakola 8 років тому

      I'm pretty sure Ibanez got sued over the shape, and that's why they don't make them anymore. The same thing goes with the VTB series, but I think it was Dean that sued them for that shape.

    • @tyler_bt3326

      +christian bohnenkemper I just replied to another guy asking for it. So I will just give you this too. "Starting on the low E string (he is using 7-string), the first pattern is 2-3 then 2-5-9 on the A string where the 9th is tapped. Then move that same pattern up the other 2 octaves, voila! (hint, move up 2 frets, and then 3 frets, the way octaves are laid out on guitar.
      The "lydian" pattern is: 2-3 again on E, then 2-4-9 on A, and so on.
      And the last "exotic" pattern derived from the hungarian scale is: 2-3 on E, and then 2-6-9 on A, and again, move up an octave, and do the same pattern from the 4th fret, on the D string."

      Spalted maple, pretty pricey stuff. And no, you will never ever find it on a cheap guitar

      It's a real spalted top which is very nice. Ibanez would put on a fake veneer if it was one of their lower priced guitars.
