Dave is the modern Chuck Shuldiner, no doubt about it. Seen them live a few times, and every time is a treat. Dave's good people, and is definitely one of the GOAT frontmen, guitarists and metal vocalists out there.
I was just about to comment that I get major chuck schuldiner vibes from Dave. Probably a direct influence on revocation lol schuldiner were to live and evolve this is prob how he’d sound.
He's one of the best metal musicians in recent years. His skills, his vocals, his presence as a frontman, and is also very creative. He is one of those musicians who really inspires people.
@@Goose21 right? but it's so fucking good, probably one of my fav songs on the record. The "eyes rolling backwards speaking in tounges" part in combination with the dissonant, frenzy riff is just so atmospherical coherent 😩
This is a man who has put in hard work to make his way towards perfection. Every man should look up to men like Dave Davidson and strive to be as good in at least one field in their respective lives.
Seen them live @Expo 5 in Louisville some time ago, was the first time I'd ever seen or heard them , I was completely impressed as this was something fresh and new for me, I needed to hear that at the time and the fact they were a Power trio made it that much more impressive !!!
Jackson guitars if you’re reading this please update the pro model Dave Davidson song to reflect the specs of these new custom shops, the new signature pickups and the 26.5” scale. The only thing stopping me from buying the wr7 at this time is the short scale
Chuck S., Dave M., Jeff W., Mohammed S. and Ihsahn all in one. Adding of course the ridiculous conclusivity of his writing. The last 4 records from Revocation are an amazing paragon of musicality.
@@karolybendeguzbok4119 my personal favorite is strange and eternal, although its close to other songs because the album is great and each song is unique
The time in the video is accelerated, no doubt about that. Was on the live show, and it was the same thing, I could tell that the clock was running way faster when he played. These people selling their soul to the devil for guitar chops... I'm loosing my faith in humanity here!
I really wish he would go back to 6 strings on a more normal tuning... his style sounds so much better and more clear in that range. I feel the 7 string does absolutely nothing to improve their sound in any way, it just makes everything sound kind of muddy and shitty. The notes are way less distinct... I understand why guys who can't really play gravitate towards more strings and lower tunings, but I've never understood guys like this or Jeff Loomis using a 7... "extended range" guitars are just for guys who can only do chugs and want to "sound uber br00tal".

Facts. He also writes cool compelling lyrics
Teaching abilities too.
And he does vocals over this….wtf lol
@Suk Yu Mi Bowls But what if somebody were to thieve from said occult? Would one learn a hard lesson in occult theft?
Seriously, Dave is un-fucking real.
@@beanzthumbz Perhaps but Dave is so good that he teaches that lesson now.
Check out Steffen from obscura, he also plays some crazy stuff and does vocals at the same time
Dave is unparalleled
With every new Revo album I am more and more convinced that this man is the GOAT. He's got it all and keeps getting better.
GOAT of what?
@@matthewfreeman33 Goat of tech death/ thrash
Hetfield MOP-era right hand dexterity and Friedman RIP-era phrasing. He's a beast.
Seeing him do this live is insane. He does not stand still on the stage and he never misses a note. Truly impressive
David Davidson is definitely a guitar player
But is he human?
We need a deep dive series of in the mind of Dave when it comes to writing, processing, and all the above. This man is a genius on the Git-fiddle.
Look up some of the lesson videos and example videos on here... Really killer
Song writing session: How much trem picking should we put in this song?
Dave: Yes
He’s like if you put Dave mustanine and Marty friendman on a blender but then also added dimebag Darrel
@@adrianfong5783 This is exactly how i think of him as well and why he's my favorite
Dave's technique is so natural that up and down picking jumping from 7 to 5 string fluently seems easy as breathing. What a master 🔥🔥
Love the use of chords in his writing
I bought the tab book just to be awestuck riff after riff - I completely overestimated my abilities
The main riff in Lessons in Occult Theft is outrageous

Omg this dude is criminally underrated.
1:58 looks down and thinks "damn that fucker is moving fast, wish Hetfield could see this" hahaha
He looks so at ease that I wouldn't be surprised if he was thinking about his grocery list
Hilariously true!!
Whats even more impressive is just how nice of a dude he is 👍
He's very humble and will teach it.
Album Of The Year!
Amazing technique, so clean!
That groove could crush diamonds! Hard AF!
Downpicking at 1:52 is really impressive. Wow.
Absolutely
Lol the whole thing is impressive. Tremolo and galloping is just as hard to do at this tempo
@@beanzthumbz Tremolo is easier, imo, but only if it's unmeasured or in other words no accents
@@calebbean1384 that’s not what I mean by tremolo tho, I’m talking about 16ths at 220bpm+. Dave only does the disciplined kind
Good to see Dave again.... Monster.
Dave vibrato, legato and riffs are on another level.
Right hand on fleek! Glad y’all brought us Death Metal December with Dave Davidson.
Sup to all the RH boiz 🤘🏼
dont use fleek when referring to masterful musicianship. its a slang term associated with idiocy

Deadly...as always.
The mighty Dave Davidson!!!!
the downstroke section is just insane
Nice shirt!
And he sings to top that off! A genius and true master at what he does!
One band that I truly want to see that I haven't been able to as yet....hopefully someday. Such a virtuoso on a guitar...
Inredible! I immediately signed back up and started learning this song, I've been waiting for the tab book to drop and this is almost just as good :D
So unbelievably clean.
This is one of the greatest play through videos ever, amazing playing and songwriting. Just awesome 🤘
Davidson is such a sick guitarist.
That’s a seriously sick down stroke.
What a genius!
I’m catching Rev alive in two weeks in Italy, more than excited 🤘🏻
Imagine Dave and Erik Rutan playing together in a band. Brutal downstrokes. Plus two red, x-shaped, 7 string guitars - a Warrior and an Ironbird.
The vocals would be disgusting as well 🤘💀
That would truly be a dream come true.
My two favourite musicians of all time in a band together?
Just take my figgin money.
I mean Corpsegrinder was on a song in this album. Maybe a collab isn't out of the question ha
Bro imagine if Dallas toler wade joined the party ....oh shit...
@@papichulobrDallas is a freak as well how tf did he play execration text and sing at the same time
Earned a sub more playthroughs from bands of this caliber please! I knew there was a reason I wore my Revocation shirt today!
That right hand is insane. Always a fucking treat seeing Revocation live 🤘🏽
Wow, killer!
Sick! He is such an inspiration!
Dave is the GOAT. Even surpassed Marty IMO.
Definitely
Dude plays like butter 🤘🏻

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DOUBLE D FOR DECEMBER
What tuning is this?
AWESOME
This is so sick
Hey.. what string gauges does he use? 🤔
Don't know exactly, but one of his jackson signature's comes with .009-.054 gauges.
Cool song good job I like the music
Love that Jackson 🤘
Is this on VHS?

No drop, tuning is Bb

He did To black and Death Metal what Ishan did to black metal (emperor) He created a new standard. He takes it further, not progressive, FURTHER.
I bet Dave went “shit…. I’m totally bumping my microphone” when he started and just proceeded not to care
This guy is ok, I guess. 😆
Lmfao go listen to ANY of their albums, bro is a wizard among even greats like Abasi. Davidson is the business

His ability to play like that whilst at the same time singing his ass off is quite extortionary.
