    I fucking love Dave. He's not only in an amazing band, but he also has an appreciation for the study of music and theory. He's an idol of mine for sure.

    I am by no means a master sweeper. But a tip that helped me immensely is after you have gone down the strings from Low E or whatever.note you started, when you are coming back up, from high strings to low strings, you dont necessarily.have to pick the string. I tend to lightly.pick the string now. But when I was working on the fluidity and speed of the frethand I was getting the result. And of course you cant pick the string when you are adding tap notes. Just a tip. Having good pups is a help too. This may not be technically correct. But as EVH said "If it sounds good....its good".

    Extremely helpful. Don't know that I would have thought of adding hammer-ons to my sweeps on my own.

    when your hammering and sweeping? really hit the strings hard with your left hand that helped me do it on cheap guitars

    good lesson dave. this way of descending using tapping can be easier than upstroking the strings at it gives the arpeggio a more fluid sound

    Some of my friends are able to do this , i had been playing for years probably since i was 10 now im 21 , and i can not even do any of this i feel stupid and old to start practicing all this , since my friends are really good at it. Cant even make a band imagine the riff have sweep.picking ill be really ashamed but well lets stop crying and keep on practice

      Drey HRZ the almighty, legendary gorguts!! ;) check out their first two albums for straight up old school death metal, their next two for weird death metal wankery (this might seem negative the way I phrased it but trust me, its not!!) and their latest album is progressive death metal and it simply a piece of art - my favorite album of 2013!! ;) have fun dude :)

    Am I the only one that thinks his guitar is fugly? I love Jackson's, they're great guitars. But the warrior is just hideous and the natural finish on it is too dark and it just looks terrible. Cool tone, but ugly guitar.

    • @wchurchill419
      @wchurchill419 9 років тому

      Whole heartedly disagree. I find the spalted maple beautiful, natural and exotic. Love the warrior shape. Cutaways are awesome and love how every point represents the classic jackson headstock. Id ditch the dimarzios, put sd humbucker jb in the bridge, single coil in the neck. drop a floyd titanium w unfinished neck, reverse headstock and im in pure Heaven....and about 6000 in the hole :)

    • @Metalwhore89
      @Metalwhore89 8 років тому

      No you're not. There's a reason why the Warrior has always been Jacksons ugly red headed step child.

    • @Drforrester31
      @Drforrester31 7 років тому

      More like McHatin. It is an unusual shape and wood for sure, but it's also metal as fuck! And personally I really like the look of that maple.
