I fucking love Dave. He's not only in an amazing band, but he also has an appreciation for the study of music and theory. He's an idol of mine for sure.
I am by no means a master sweeper. But a tip that helped me immensely is after you have gone down the strings from Low E or whatever.note you started, when you are coming back up, from high strings to low strings, you dont necessarily.have to pick the string. I tend to lightly.pick the string now. But when I was working on the fluidity and speed of the frethand I was getting the result. And of course you cant pick the string when you are adding tap notes. Just a tip. Having good pups is a help too. This may not be technically correct. But as EVH said "If it sounds good....its good".
PVfreak999 all the noobs who would rather post a worthless comment about how much they suck instead of trying to improve his/her playing. People that want instant gratification that's my problem.
Some of my friends are able to do this , i had been playing for years probably since i was 10 now im 21 , and i can not even do any of this i feel stupid and old to start practicing all this , since my friends are really good at it. Cant even make a band imagine the riff have sweep.picking ill be really ashamed but well lets stop crying and keep on practice
Drey HRZ the almighty, legendary gorguts!! ;) check out their first two albums for straight up old school death metal, their next two for weird death metal wankery (this might seem negative the way I phrased it but trust me, its not!!) and their latest album is progressive death metal and it simply a piece of art - my favorite album of 2013!! ;) have fun dude :)
Am I the only one that thinks his guitar is fugly? I love Jackson's, they're great guitars. But the warrior is just hideous and the natural finish on it is too dark and it just looks terrible. Cool tone, but ugly guitar.
Whole heartedly disagree. I find the spalted maple beautiful, natural and exotic. Love the warrior shape. Cutaways are awesome and love how every point represents the classic jackson headstock. Id ditch the dimarzios, put sd humbucker jb in the bridge, single coil in the neck. drop a floyd titanium w unfinished neck, reverse headstock and im in pure Heaven....and about 6000 in the hole :)

Can we all take a minute and like this because that Jackson is gorgeous damn
These are so fun to do whoo whoo! thank you for the lesson amazing usefulness this is actually a great lesson for free.
Why was this so much more simple then I was expecting
Extremely helpful. Don't know that I would have thought of adding hammer-ons to my sweeps on my own.
The tone on that guitar sounds good
Next level stuff. Hammeronz provide great melodic sound to arpeggioz
when your hammering and sweeping? really hit the strings hard with your left hand that helped me do it on cheap guitars
Mind has been blown for the day..
of the best lessons on guitar world
Oh my god that guitar is so bulgy and heavy-looking but so beautiful!
Great lesson and insight, thanks.
Cool riffs! Cool guitar too!!
LOVE the gorguts shirt
very nicely done, thank you
Great lesson!!! Thank you
good lesson dave. this way of descending using tapping can be easier than upstroking the strings at it gives the arpeggio a more fluid sound
Nice video!
'on my g-string and pulling off..'
0:41 İsnt that EbMin7?
his guitar is down-tuned half step:)
Aaron pu i know, but still
thanks great lesson
Well fuck this is a sweet lick idea! Thanks, will be shedding this
Dave is da BOSS
Where the last figures/riffs from A Debt Owed To The Grave?
Don't think so.
very easy and very nic
do we need a good pickups and guitar, and amp and distortion tone? cause with bad gain and cheap sound, we cant do that. doesn't it?
No you can totally do this. The problem some people might have is the muting
What's dat song in the beginning?
MVPZER0JZ it's called Invidious
Thanks for the lesson, just give me a few years and I should have it nailed.
Noob
dan mcamis
What the fuck is your problem?

dan mcamis hypocrite - "worthless comment" about how he hates noobs.

He forgot, or assumes everybody tunes down half step E flat
fuck men I really love that warrior
He means E flat minor
I came to say the same exact thing. He's tuned in Eb standard
Fucking look at that Warrior.
Exelent
Haha that broken pickup ring xD
I thought this was supposed to be a secret.
Dammit, that guitar...... 0_o
nice guitar, i usually dont like jacksons
That guitar should not be able to play clean tones lol

Could use some more meat. It's a bit lanky.
Personally, I love it. One of my favorite Jacksons that I've ever laid eyes on.

No you're not. There's a reason why the Warrior has always been Jacksons ugly red headed step child.
More like McHatin. It is an unusual shape and wood for sure, but it's also metal as fuck! And personally I really like the look of that maple.
You talk too much
